Loved the film. And thought the music added to the ambience. And intent. Anyway. Looks like all the Southern extremities of the groynes suffer the same accelerated erosion? Thanks for making these films. Keep up the good work. 👍
Thank you for the kind words, much appreciated. 😊 I try to put music that fits the mood of whatever I'm doing. I've been a drone pilot for a couple of years but a musician for 45 😅 I'm really enjoying the learning experience. Davey 😊
I guess the thousands of unexploded bombs found and the controlled explosions from the old Military base at Cowden haven’t helped the situation of coastal erosion at Mappleton. When the cliffs collapsed and revealed the majority of the unexploded bombs/ammuniton they were constantly exploding them at the location. I lived on the sea front in Hornsea a little further North from Mappleton and the movement I felt through the ground was substantial. This process wasn’t a one off. Repeated explosions occurred on a regular basis and I would estimate this procedure happened hundreds of times and continued long after the ammunition dump was discovered. I know very little about coastal erosion but logic tells me constant explosions on already unstable earth is bound to have a detrimental effect. Thank you for the heads up. Oddly enough I was planning a trip to Mappleton later this week so the timing could not have been better. I am always cautious of the cliff falls along that stretch of coastline but would have not taken the extra care and diligence perhaps needed given the present dangerous situation. A special thank you to Timothy who gives us the chance to see footage we might never normally get the chance to see. Think he deserves a right good battery charge for all the hard work he does 🤣😂 xx
You'd think it would have a detrimental effect, all those bombs and soft clay. The rock groynes have definitely sped up the erosion just south of them...substantially too. Thank you for your kind words, I've charged Timothy up ready for today's adventures. Davey 😊
@@timothystravels8492 I quite fancy a Timothy/Tamara to play with. I need to look into a suitable mini make/model that has low or limited legislation for flying. I see you are looking good as always Davey. Just like a fine red wine that ages well. Looking forward to seeing more adventures with Timothy. Have a good day now ❤️ x
@Janetgreen64 Charmed! 😁 Lovely to hear from you. I suggest getting a mini 3 pro, they've gone down in price and are as free from legislation as you can get 😉
I usually have very beautiful music for my videos, this particular improvised piece felt right at the time of edit because being there and seeing it for real, felt really gnarly. I suggest turning the sound down for this one. Those noises which irritated you so much were made using a whammy pedal and a les paul guitar through a Blackstar amp. 😁 Davey
Great searching for fossils and semi precious stones when that gives. You can find some good sized lumps of jet, pyrite 'fools gold' and if you are really lucky amber here. I first saw Mappleton mid 1970's. The cliff edge was a good +100 meter out to sea to where it is now. Another 5 or so years, the slip road will be gone too = easy access gone.
Thanks for the warning and fascinating, informative and interesting film. That earth mover was so close to the edge. I wonder if the operator realised and maybe it exacerbated the erosion
I chose a nasty piece of music..the situation feels that way. It may be impossible to stop but people can be warned of the dangers. Some of which can not be seen from the land. Davey 😊
They are mixed earth cliffs, so will eventually fall into the sea as UK weather is destined to become wetter and also more rough seas due to changing climate patterns. Gaz Yorkshire.
Finding the music alittle distracting so having to skip through - its not easy to listen to and hear it whilst watching ..... important information so stuck with it
No apologys needed....I present all my videos with my own music, drones have no audio and as I'm a musician first and foremost I fill in the gaps with my own recordings. I try to match the right feel with a vid buy music is different for everyone. Hope you'll stick around and check out more of our adventures 😀 Davey

GET RID OF THIS APPALLING MUSIC

Such a shame. It’s a lovely area.
It really is. 😐

At this rate the road from Hornsea isn’t going to be viable in twenty years either
True.

Thank you, I reckon the earth mover did exactly that and weakened it that little bit more.🫣
Tragic (so is that awful bloody music) to what is happening, erosion impossible to stop!
I chose a nasty piece of music..the situation feels that way. It may be impossible to stop but people can be warned of the dangers. Some of which can not be seen from the land.
Davey 😊
How are the tunnels going on the ' green belts' - shovelling out the grains as fertalizer? or is that another part of yorkshire?
I don't know about that....🤔
Background noise is unbearable.
Sorry, yea was a bit too gnarly for some. 🫣

Aye lad...we can only watch 🤐
The sea is definitely going to grab that chunk this winter 🌊
For sure..🫣

Davey
a few rain showers should see that come down and the winter storms are coming
For sure!
Good place to go fishing but hopefully this will deter a lot of dog walkers now a lot of owners don't pick up the dog crap
You're welcome 😅
