Yes, a symbol of another country, it's not a Canadian symbol. Canada has it's own culture, it's own history, it's own values, it's own language. And true Canadian's will protect all of it.
Do you really wanna make it a race thing? That's like saying people shouldn't wear religious jewelry, while they wear a golden Cross. The hypocrisy, and irony. I've been to his website where all his political positions on the various issues are spelled out. I really like what he has to say.
The turban is irrelevant. Many, many people who wear no religious clothing of any kind regularly allow their ideology to dictate their political stance. The presence or absence of religious clothing is not an indicator. What I care about is what kind of person he has proven himself to be - and so far things look good.

StillHuntre55 this guy comes in and represents his religion over his country, Canada is NOT Afghanistan, Iraq or any other country where religion is represented and freedom is not. I am not being seen by the world like that. I am not about to vote for someone who represents Buddhism, Muslim, Sikh or even Christianity over Canada.
If he took the time to take that turbin off, shave and make himself representable i would take the time to concider. I dont mind religious people but dont represent it while you are looking for or sitting in that seat because it just dont fit as Canada after 150 years, most likely not in the next 150 either. The Turban isn't religious clothing - it's socio-economic-politcal clothing, there's vast information out there on it's history. purpose and significance for Sikhs. It may well be that wearing of a turban is too liberal for many and much of the world has not yet caught up with the progressiveness embodied by it.
