Society is still asleep when it comes to central banks. They never question monetary policies, dont care where money comes from and are ignorant of how private central banks are run.
Real money should be printed by the government, not a private cabal, and there should be a constitutional amendment limiting how much money can be printed so that inflation (a silent taxation) wont rob people of their wealth every year. An honest currency of limited supply should NEVER experience inflation, just like gold. ( at most its value should fluctuate up and down because of market forces but NEVER constantly getting inflated!)

AMANDA LANG thank you for bringing this issue to be discussed. When you were asking "why are you interested in this arcane matter"?...... I like to remind you are a Canadian speaking for the CBC, a CANADIAN'S funded network, and the salary you're getting comes from the very same TAXPAYERS who pay the 200 million dollars EACH DAY in interests alone of that debt. So it's of great importance to all in Canada to sort this matter.
It's of course not "arcane" to deal with such fraudulent matter of interest payments to the Private foreign banks who create our Money Supply. It's not "arcane" to save that badly spent tax money. We need to protect and inform the Canadian Taxpayer to help us pay all CBC salaries.

@@andreecouture8325 It is all over. We lost unfortunately. We lost over one word; the word "may". In the constitution it says we "may" use our bank but not that we have to. Our constitution needs to be stronger in this regard.
It is the Bank of Canada Act, not the constitution. The constitution says nothing about the Bank of Canada.
Much of what Galati claims in this clip is false. The Bank of Canada still lends to the government the same way it did before 1974. It never held more than 25% of the federal debt.

What is the state of the lawsuit at this time?
It is over. Rocco Galati and COMER lost all five times a court ruled on it and in 2017 the Supreme Court refused to hear their appeal.
Much of what Galati claimed in this interview was wrong. The Bank of Canada still lends to the government the same way it always has. Its mandate was never to lend interest free to the government.
They should have to pay all the interest back. They did so much damage to our economy. They basically set everything up for the fall we are having right now.
First you have to prove “they” did anything illegal. Galati was unable to do that.

I have talked to many people about this over the years, and it continues to amaze me, as to how many people do not understand that this is really happening. When Justin Trudeau won the election, he was presented with a petition for the return of the functionality of the Bank of Canada to what it was prior to 1974. It was in the early months of 2016 and it was outside when he was confronted by a reporter , as to if he would address the petition. If never made any statement and walked away very quickly. If he had walked any faster, I sure it would have been a full run. I heard the Supreme Court of Canada refused to hear the case and said it was political. Think that was just BS.
The petition was addressed by the Finance Minister.
What Galati claimed never happened. The Bank of Canada still lends to the federal government the same way it did before 1974. It did not stop. It never really lent to the provinces or municipalities. That is all well documented from a number of sources.

COMER lost again. They appealed. The appeal was heard December 7, 2016. They lost that appeal and have asked to appeal to the Supreme Court.
You can flush the Constitution and any faith in the legal system down the toilet if COMERS ends up losing this in court. What it will mean is that laws can be sh&t on by banksters as and when they please and you are nothing more than a serf in a corrupt governmental & now judicial system.

The charter of the Bank of Canada is to make interest free loans to the govt. Why then does the govt insist on indenturing the nation into interest baring debt to private bankers? The nation has paid out hundreds of billions in interest payments alone to private banks which are little more than rent seeking scammers adding zero value to any enterprise.
The theme in both the US and Canada is for parasitic banksters to bribe politicians in power to legalize their fraud & theft from the productive people of the nation. Its gotten to the point where even the judicial system is useless in protecting the people from these ripoffs.

The purpose of the Bank of Canada was never to provide interest free loans to governments in Canada. Its purpose is spelled out in the preamble to the Bank of Canada Act.
Section 18 of the Bank of Canada Act allows the Bank of Canada to lend to provincial and federal governments. It has never required it.
The private sector (banks, insurance companies, pensions, businesses and individuals) has lent to the government since 1867.
The Bank of Canada has only rarely lent to provinces, but it has lent continuously to the federal government since 1935. Its holdings of federal debt increased from $6 billion in January 1974 to $106 billion in October 2018.
The Bank of Canada never specifically funded the projects listed by Galati. It has always lent to the government for general government purposes.
Galati has produced no evidence for his allegations about the BIS.
The Bank of Canada is not the only public central bank in the G8. The Bank of England, Bank of France, Bundesbank, and Bank of Russia are all fully public.
The Federal Reserve is not a private bank like the Bank of Montreal or TD Bank. It has aspects of a private bank like shareholders who get a fixed 6% dividend on their shares, but the president appoints the directors and almost all the profits are paid to the US treasury.
Obama did not give the federal reserve $800 billion interest free. It was borrowed and interest was paid.
Similarly in Canada, the loans CMHC bought from the banks were not “toxic”. They were insured performing mortgages that hav since been paid. CMHC made money on them.
The money Canada’s banks received from the Bank of Canada was also not a gift. It was a loan and interest was charged. It has been paid back.
