Got the $20 version cause
a) it says lifetime updates (probably available for the free version too)
b) It is a steal at $20 and hopefully it will help the dev make cool updates.
I think this free synth changes perspective a lot in software world cause it does the stuff it does, but especially , sounds the way it sounds, which is at least as good as some of the most hyped synths that cost over $150. Makes you think, about spending cash for other synths, especially in these lockdown days, where a lot of people that rely on gigs...have no gigs.
A synth is nothing without a strong fan base though, supporting it with presets, videos and patch ideas... and I think, this being a free synth, will become very popular.
This synth looks like the child of Serum and Phase Plant..... very awesome and that price is very generous.
I paid for the $20 pre-release In-The-Mix Plus version of Vital and it's totally worth it! Text to Wavetable is hilarious fun to play with! Modulation routing is just ridiculous. All in all, I'm very impressed with this synth...Matt Tytel has done it again!
Damn. I spent $189 on Serum a couple of months ago. Now I have Vital, I may never use Serum again.

It's cool that you can modulate the modulators that modulate the modulators wich modulate the modulators.
And macros can modulate macros modulating modulators that are modulating modulators... 🤣😉
Thanks for this video, finally offering a deeper look into the modulation options. This should be quite some fun for all kinds of rhythmic stuff (and anything else regarding modulation, too, of course).

Great overview and initial look at Matt's new monster of a synth. Super affordable pricing making it accessible for everyone. Looking forward to more and thank you for making this 👍
The mod matrix has a limit of 64 slots(Serum only has 32). I just assigned LFO1 to everything I could until I ran out.
I got the advance sale one with a lot of more presets. Man, this plugin is amazing.
The 20 dollar special gives u 250 presets and 75 wavetables. I just got it. The free version comes with very little. I think matt is out of his mind giving this away free. Everyone on earth has at least 20 dollars. This is easily a 150 dollar synth thats up there with the big boys. Best 20 ive spent on a plugin. Will be upgrading to the pro version on the 24th. Great video
What makes it special is it's FUCKING AMAZING. Even if it wasn't free. In fact I paid $20 for the In The Mix version and it instantly has replaced pretty much everything but my U-he stuff (Repro, Diva, Zebra), Thorn and a few others.
I recently purchased a Korg Wavestate. Love the capabilities , but don't look like the midi implementation supports the ability to ever create a computer based software sound editor. The software that Korg offers for the device only allows the storage of patches/sounds. Nice tutorial - thanks Nate.
Got this amazing synth yesterday for $20. It is an absolute beast and so accessible (unlike a lot of the more expensive synths with interfaces that look like mission control and baffle the hell out of you.) Already made a few patches and that is rare for me with a new synth.
Wowsers! I've recently bought Hy-Poly which I love but can't pass this up for 20 quid. We're spoiled

I'vew had tis under my radar for a bit.. I'll take the free one as it comes out cause I'm just so poor I can't afford the 20 one but when I can I'll definitly buy one of the higher version to give support. Helm was an awesome synth to.. this one seems just amazing and I'm always up for giving support to people deserving it if I can :)

Brilliant synth for £15 Just be careful, it can get CPU hungry very quickly. Hopefully this will be sorted out in a future update. Apart from that it's fantastic, up there with the very best (expensive synths)
Yeah I noticed, but just bounce to audio.
Hadn't noticed really... I used Diva extensively and it doesn't seem to come close to that as far as CPU usage is concerned. There is scalable quality settings that you can turn down and bump up again when rendering.
Matt has said that this synth will not use much CPU even if u crank up the unison. I guess we'll have to see! (I'm ofc, talking about one or two oscillators with 8 or 9 voices of unison. If its like 3 oscillators with 16 voices it may use CPU heavily)
Yeah to be honest, using some of the presets that probably used a zillion parameters and 3 oscillators plus the sampler etc etc.. it munched cpu like going out of fashion. I've had no issues with cpu, other than some of the presets! It's a great synth and sounds amazing and my go to, it's so easy to get results, I've certainly no regrets in getting it. Like I say it's my go to
now, and I've got quite a few. This being free is amazing, but I'd like to think parting with a few quid to keep Matt happy, he'll improve it even more, if that's possible :)

I watched many reviews of this thing and think yours the best. But I still don`t understand the difference between 3 mods, when I drag sample into Oscilator it offers to set it as Wavetable, Vocode or Pitch Slice, but no matter what I choose it seems all the same. Maybe I do something wrong? Would like to know.
Anyway this synth is sooo cool. I only wish it looked more like Helm (his previous synth), yellow, green and blue elements look awesome on grey, this one is too dark lol

are there any boundaries when it comes to this text to wavetable thing? Cause it looks like it lets u create any vocal sample that u want. And this would be a big gamechanger i guess. No more hunting for vocal sample chops if u can just synthesize them by yourself.

U mean 0 ms? Oh dude are you kidding? Oscillating at 0 ms is like infinite times per second! That 0 is not 0 Hz, to find the frequency, divide 1 by the seconds (1/0 is impossible, you know right?)

I used Surge when it first came out... 15 or so years ago. Had a brief look at the updated version recently but I'm kinda overloaded with synths at the moment so didn't spend too much time with it.

Pretty sure that's a false positive... Check your system or anti-virus.

@@DaveGrahamMusic it's not uncommon, I've had this from various developers... It's just unsigned so Microsoft sometimes flags them as unsafe.

Where did you get all those presets from? (I mean those other than the factory presets)
They're in the paid version afaik.
I live not very far from the company that creates the software ( 159 Rue Amelot, 75011 Paris ), they are very nice and I recommend them because with this synth they will have competition. with Vital .. PUB : My UVI Software : My first piano true keyby VILabs in 2012 it's the best virtual piano in the univers with 3 piano steinway, german and italian piano and work with UVI Workstation ( Sweep machine, Mellow, True Cowbells ). A day may be have got falcon but it's a synth for the Stars ❤

Are the effects polyphonic?
They're applied after the voices as far as I can tell so not polyphonic per se... but the stereo modulation applies to all the parameters so you can still get some pretty interesting styuff happening with modulation on the effects chains.
