This is a wonderful tutorial. Had my class split up into teams of 3-4 and it took them about 1.5-2 hours to complete.

The tutorial is great, but I think the hips are missing in the man and that is what makes the shape a little strange, I think that the fact that the head is out of proportion doesn't matter that much.

Thank you so much for making this video! My son and I volunteer for a puppet guild and now my son needs to make a puppet for cub scouts. He loves marionettes too so this was the perfect tutorial we needed! You explained it very well and in simple terms that my 10 yr old could understand and be motivated! Thanks again!!!

The only thing I don't love about this video is that I found it right before I have to go to work so I gotta wait the whole day before I can go home and try this (and I WILL try this!)

Cute for a kids project and basic enough that you can build on it to make a more detailed marionette. You can also add clear string attaching the feet to the hands to make them "walk." =)

Thank you so much! I plan one doing this with my middle school students in Art class. We are doing a Greek unit and I've been looking for some way for them to make a commercial/ public service announcement about their god or goddess without having to put THEMSELVES in front of the camera - this is perfect!!!

Can you use string instead of wire? I realise it won't be as strong in the long run and may break after a while, but the movement would be roughly the same, yeah?
