I think the reason why they’re so expensive is because these can’t be normally found in America, and that they probably cost around the same price as any medium sized play set, but it’s looks like a ridiculous number in Japan.
Hasbro Bradley brought both the entire diaclone and microman toy figures, than he renamed them transformers and than takara got licencing for producing their own TF's, Hasbro & takara still has a great partnership to this very day

They should make a Transformer series with Diaclone robots, these mechas would be the human response to cybertronians, making a third faction that just want cybertronians away from Earth.

It's actually pretty similar - just a bit more weathered - It looks like they took the toy design files and just messed with the textures and took some of the screw holes off. You can see it's pretty similar to the toy - it has the clips for the chest hatch on the CGI still and also it has the hinges that are part of the toy on it's back looking just like a pinned hinge would. The main sort of changes are the animation in the cockpits and the drivers and things like jet thrust effects, slightly improved hands & moving tracks. If a customiser heavily weathered a toy it would look remarkably similar to the animation. the functions and proportions are accurate and they don't show them doing anything they can't do as toys (combination wise) the only real artistic license is in the things like moving tracks and other minor cosmetic effects. I do agree the combination sequence is very Sentai like though.
Well Power Rangers enemies wait for Zords to travel from miles away in distant volcanoes and shit before combining into a Megazord, so it seems enemies can be quite patient in Japanese giant robot shows.

I love these videos so much. It's even more awesome that the videos use the actual toy designs and engineering so they're 100% accurate to what you get in-hand. It's a shame this video is a big longer, though - Big Powered has like a dozen different formations, would have been nice to see more than just the main one.

That has to be the largest, busiest and most involved and complex mecha transformation I've ever seen.
For that size is pretty realistic. You can feel how heavy this thing is. Not sure how mobile it is standing up though
