I had no clue you could actually check your values…unless I just missed that. I’m super happy with Tyrannomon but I also would’ve taken either of the others. Agumon really got a stacked digivolution line. And I’m guessing the partner Digimon progression is the same way as they get to ultimate and mega?
@@coolbone6177 I know the recruits are random. I’ve been doing them as I go. I just wasn’t sure if because Agumon to champion level was dependent on your values, whether or not the ultimate and mega was as well.
Your party's partner evolutions post champion seem to be tied to affinity. i can't recall what affinity is needed for ultimate but mega you need 70. I only managed to get 1 mega on my first route. Luckily the 'true' path you can unlock on new game plus (provided you make the right decisions) seems to give you more opportunites to raise affinity.
it was an accident that i got tuskmon, but usually i just use agumon to walk then evolve to tuskmon, then devolve to get near again after a kill, and evolve. of course Minoru talk option is great for this, but still i would do the same, agumon 1st then walk, then tuskmon.
you have no idea how frustrating it is that Agumon's evolutions aren't tied to their respective karma colors. Was it so hard to make the *yellow* evolution follow the *yellow* branch?!?!
I'm still not sure how the game decides which form you get when Karma Values are tied. I was tied for Morality and Harmony and ended up with Tyranomon. I don't think the game has priorities picking one digimon over another, so it's probably either random or it might choose based on whatever your most recent choice was. I might actually reload the save to test it out if it ever happens again.
Just a quick note, judging from what is known from pokemon games and "random" evolutions there: It's likely that when being tied you might get for example tuskmon every single time on your save, while someone else might get tyrantmon every single time with the exact same karma values. That's just y guess, so take it with a grain of salt, but in pokemon games, that kind of "random" evolution looks at some hidden stored value that's either generated when starting a new game (similar to a random minecraft seed for example) or when you obtain the mon in question (though that's also often tied to the first hidden value in some way; examples would be wurmple evolution in pokemon). So for example, a wurmple you obtained in Pokemon Emerald gets a specific value assigned, that you can't see, but at the very moment you obtain it, its evolution route is set - you could save before evolving it and reload as much as you like, if it goes down the Beautifly road the first time, reloading won't change that, it will NEVEr become a Dustox in the end even if you saved before wurmple evolved. Does not HAVE to be like that for digimon survive for these special cases like tied highest karma values for agumon, but from a pure programming point of view it would make sense. For example, you could generate a hidden value when starting a new game, for simplicity we may assume the value was 14 (most likely its a faaar longer number ofc). Actually that number might also be used to determine random encounters etc in many cases. Anyways, now we go for modulo 3, which means we just ask, if we divide our number by 3, whats the remainder? In our case, that would be 2. Then we could define something like in case of tied highest values, there is a priority order: Since our number modulo 3 gives us 2, the second path (let's just assume we labelled them first, second and third from top to bottom) gets the highest priority in that case. If the karma value for 2nd is lower than the other two, we simply go to the next one, so you'd get the evolution branch of the 3rd value aka the bottom branch. That would be a very basic way of determining what branch to take in case of tied highest values.
@@LucRio448 I know about those, but Survive doesn't have anything like IVs and doesn't many values that it need to keep track of for a long period, so it's probably easier to pull a quick RNG calculation and be done with with. I don't even think pokémon needs those for the most part, but since it's used for a lot of things in the games, I can see why they keep using something this convoluted. In the case it's really random, the matter would actually be _when_ the calculation is made. Is is right before the cutscene is triggered or when the game realises the values are tied. But it might just override whoever your next evolution is gonna be based on the most recent karma choice when they're tied with no calculation whatsoever, like I said in the original comment. I'd like to make some tests on this, but not gonna happen any time soon, since my values are not even close to one another anymore.
The karma system is tied how you answer questions by others, especially there are three answers to the question. Left is moral, up is wrathful, right is harmony. The amount of which karma you get depends on how many of which answer type you gave.
@@whitewolf3051 I know this, I'm talking about how the game picks what you're evolve into when karmas are tied. You can actually check the values in the profile menu.
A good tip for Tuskmon is using Minoru's Talk command on it to greatly enhance that adorable green dino's mobility.
Good callout.
I had to look this whole karma/affinity thing up. But glad to see a video that actually explains it a little simpler.
Great content I just purchased the game and I’m glad that I can permanently evolve recruited Digimon.
Thank you so much! This is super helpful. I'm still pretty early on into the game, so I'm looking forward to future guides!
Finally lucked out and found a copy of the game at gamestop its fun so far

Agrumon has 3 paths to your 2 megas.then your partner has one path to at the end either you get 1 2 or 3 and then recruits are random

Wonder how Agumon would have digivolved if Takuma was an edgy chuunibyou/emo kiddo. DarkTyrannomon->MetalTyrannomon->RustTyranomon sounds about right.
I'm so happy that my Agumon digivolved to Tyrannomon. It seems to be so much better than Tuskmon

just finished my first playthrough and i didn't get any, thanks for the data
btw to get perfect/ultimate you need 35 i think

Yea if ur highest karma changes then your next evo will reflect that.

Did he ever make a video on where to farm evolution stones
Higher the evolution the higher the sp is required to keep up the evolution
How can i evolve dobermon in Cerberusmon? All the story i only get that evolution.
very high affinity.
Need suggestions. How high should I lvl them before evolving free digimon? I got mine to 30 before makin them champions.
I only got ryo and shuuji killed but none on the friends got to there mega level digimon and dracomon never got pass champion
Thx I was curious how it worked outside of the partner digimon lol almost typed Pokemon
Thank you!!
It s a curious mechanic
I still hate Digimon Servive the way it is. It doesn't matter how evolution works because it's a VN.
LOL then don't watch videos about it XDDDD. Did you see that video about the Dragonrod Digimon game tho? Might be worth checking out :)
