@@torrentinocom Of course. But tenors do not sound ‘more like falsetto’. They can and should still sing in clear chest and head registers, like both baritones and basses. And a tenor’s voice should absolutely sound full, just not as dark as a baritone’s.
I've only just found this! Where are you now, you two? Singing professionally, I sincerely hope. My father was a tenor and was also a singing teacher, using this duet often with his baritone pupils. He died at 84 , still singing, in 2003. I know this duet inside out and back to front, and yours is my favourite version so far, and it brings back so many happy memories for me. Thank you so much.

This was amazing! I didn't know this duet beforehand and only stumbled upon it by accident - and I'm so glad I did! I loved how the three perfomers worked with the spirit of the piece and I enjoyed the singing a lot!
It is such a beautiful vision and acoustic feast to experience black men singing highly trained classic rather than Hip Hop or RnB. I love the latter genres, but if you, as a black male wish to stand out, go Opera or any other highly trained genre.
That’s microaggressive af. There are tons of Black men who are in this type of music. As a matter of fact, most genres of music including rock and roll all have African traditions. You are closeted racist.
I don't usually listen to this style of music but I was trying to find out what the difference was between tenor and baritone and stumbled upon this. Wow this was great to listen to!
I'm baritone as well, and I can sing in the tenor range with ease (in Mixed Voice), but I can sing in the baritone range, but I dislike my baritone range (G2-F3) but above that is fine, I can sing up to D6, but I prefer up to B5 to prevent straining and pain. I do sing rock as well, mostly in Alt Rock.
Great performance! I would love to hear the same piece by these singers, and much more, but on a better recording. With studio quality! Make it happen please!!!
For those struggling to find the music, the music is actually by H. Lane Wilson and words by H.Broughton Black. Not actually a Sullivan work, though you'd be forgiven for mistaking it for one
(Both together) Tenor and baritone, we are respectively, We can in merry tone sing most effectively. Songs in duet, add to our art. Trio, quartet, each takes his part' And, oh for the power that a vocalist can sway. And oh for the music that makes us bright and gay, For man can be happy with a voice to call his own. (Tenor only) I sing of love in sweetest strain, with songs of all countries and climes, I sing to fair maidens again and again, for a tenor's in love at all times. His sweethearts rejoices in several names - Mary, Isabel, Sue. But it matters not if his heart's aflame, a tenor can ne'er be untrue, untrue. A tenor is always true. (Both sing chorus, as above) (Baritone only) But the baritone sings of the glorious battle field He's a soldier or a sailor and his trusty sword he'll wield. He'll fight for his country and never fear the foe. He's a most blood-thirsty pirate or a gypsy or a thief. His many occupations are almost beyond belief And his voice is so tremendous he can call the world his own. It's a privilege to be a mighty baritone. (Both sing chorus again)
One is a tenor with a dark timbre to either to be a spinto tenor or dramatic tenor with a ringing high B or B4 in full voice and other is a bass baritone with a high range up to F4 with a quasi falsetto quality mixed voice.
You must be crazy, dude, that High B is made of shit.. THAT is the quasi falsetto headvoice singing.... Spinto tenor... hope someday you'll listen to a real spinto tenor to put all dots above i and never to put down such a bullshit...
I don't think these voice types are inherent to physicality, but largely dependent on how they are trained. When I first started singing in the tenor range, I didn't even have a head voice- it was just a weak falsetto- and everyone told me I was a baritone. But every year, my head voice got stronger and sounded more and more like chest- but sounded less baritonal. Now, in the 4th year, the top has developed the piercing ring of a tenor, despite the fact that the lowest note in chest is B1. If a light lyric tenor misdiagnosed as a bass-baritone like me can develop their hooty, wimpy tone into a piercing squillo, then anyone can find their true vocal identity- or at least the one they are the most comfortable with- after enough development. It is not what category of voice we belong to that matters- it's what we do with it and then how we use what we've conditioned.
I don't really know either but my guess is that that the guy with the long hair is the tenor because of his higher pitched voice, the other guy's seems deeper
+CodeXIX The tenor's singing voice naturally sits higher and this is where his voice is the richest and also during the verses the one with short hair sings of being a tenor while the one with the long hair sings of being a baritone
the performance is really impressive.....I think both of them have a deep voice. just the vibrato ..too much... I think, am not sure one of them is bass baritone and one is baritenor not a tenor.. ( coz am a baritenor) . well i enjoyed it. :)
Abraham DeLeon Hey dude! you have a very large vocal range! If you can reach a Re 2, i am right that you are a bass, but you can heat till a Re 5... I have never seen a bass go this high in plain voice, without falsetto. I am a lyric baritone, and my lowest note is A 2, you heat a D 2, three and a half tones lower. I think you are a bass.
Joe Peterson Woah, I thought I would've been somewhere in the tenor range. My voice in entirety isn't actually low, yet all the notes that I've stated above are the ones I can hit comfortably. And on special days I can belt up to a E5 flat, and use falsetto register up to an A5 flat. (Sorry for rambling on) But, I usually sing in the baritone/tenor range. Is that abnormal for a bass? Thanks for the reply. Have a great weekend!
Abraham DeLeon I think that now i really understood buddy. Hehe! Well, if you sing confortably from a C3 to a C5 or higher, i am right that you are a tenor. Maybe a lyric tenor. Above lyric tenors are the light tenors. If you can sing a Eb5 without "forcing" your voice, you are a light tenor. If after a C5 it starts to get hard to sing and it seems like you are starting to scream, you are a lyric tenor.
Abraham DeLeon What I am saying is that you are probably a lyric tenor, but you should serch for a teacher to see you singing and to say what voice is really yours. So you can take out the doubts. Cause there is a lot of voice types. There are tenors that sing from C3 to C5 and there are baritones that sing above C5, so it is really hard to say what voice is yours without listening to you. Hehe.
from what i know, one's voice type is quite likely determined from the lowest note they can reach. i'm a tenor, the lowest note i can hit without struggling is G2, and the highest might be D5 (never got the chance to try, because of the place i'm at). it's natural that bigger passage allows lower note. listening to some singers, i think it's the upper range that can be worked on, while the lower range is not so much flexible. well in short, i think you're a baritone.
The baritone's voice has a more "full sound" than that of the tenor. Baritones reign!!!
You right and I agree I do know baritone are deeper than tenors. Tenors sound more like falsetto.

Baritone voice sounds awesome
This is so wonderful thank you!
They both sound like baritones to me. Good, though.
+Meade Skelton Both of them actually sound like second tenors to me.
+Bradley Monroe Second tenor is not a voice type, it is a choir part. A second tenor section usually consists of light baritones and dark tenors.
