    Done this a million times. But your descriptions are completely spot on . I usually don't work on ford products, but have to do the wife's edge this week. So I looked for a tiny refresher course. Great job on this video. Liked and followed.

      Thank you very much friend! I try to be as descriptive as I can be. I’m just trying to help people as much as I can since shops charge an arm and a leg. I don’t mind doing these wheel bearings for the most part unless they’re super rusty and never been done before lol.

    Great job, Time consuming and less expensive if you have the tools. I usually bypass the press and just replace the entire knuckle with a brand new assembly complete with bearing, hub and new shield. Only takes short time to replace. Does cost more but much easier with the assembly if you do not have the tools and equipment. Nice Video.

      How much are the complete knuckles? I’ve had this shop press for so long I try to get all the use out of it I can. But i totally agree the time wise a complete knuckle replacement is the way to go. Thanks for watching! And thanks for the nice comments

      @@T-MillProductions I know this is a year old but I just picked up 2 MOOG knuckles from RockAuto for my wifes 2012 Edge and the complete Knuckle was $260 each. Way easier to replace if you do not mind the extra cost and you get all new hubs, bearing, dust shield, axle nut and clip.

      @indyguy5570 really? I’m gonna have to look into that, I didn’t know they even made a complete assembly like that. Thanks for the information tho! I appreciate that!

      @@T-MillProductions Yeah, when you search do not look under just the Knuckle. Type in the part search field next to the vehicle once you have selected your year and make for Wheel bearing / Hub/ Knuckle Assembly and you will see options. You can also just type in Wheel Bearing and select it from the drop down list that pops up. Good luck man.

    I took the bearing to get pressed in because the rental tools get bent if you try using those lol do you know if the bearing has to go in a certain way for ABS sensor?

    • @T-MillProductions
      @T-MillProductions  Рік тому +2

      Oh did you? I’ll tell you man the harbor freight shop press is wonderful for the money! The bearing is the same either way it goes in. The abs sensor runs off the tone ring on the axle shaft so you can put the bearing in either way. Hope this helps you out!

      @@T-MillProductions lifesaver! I asked because they didn’t want to press it for me in case it didn’t work and I told them it uses the cv axle “ring.” It took some convincing. Could be cause I am young and to them, young is clueless.

    I always get nervous going on the ears of the knuckle i had an escape the bearing was stuck like a breeding dog and it snapped the ears right off little tip if you dont have snap ring pliers to get them out i use a little punch like you use to set nails get under it enough to get a screw driver then get a 2nd screwdriver walk it about half way and it will fly out

    I tried everything to remove that bearing on my 11 Edge. Despite of have ALL TOOLS I need! The press AND the wheel bearing removal kit. Did the job exactly how its supposed to do. The bearing just simply will NOT BUDGE OUT! I then tried to cut the bearing out with the cutting tool. STILL refuses to come off! It's like if some idiot welded or glued the stupid thing in. After spending several hours in hell. I called it quits. (Despite of have ALL tools I need). I'm just going to order the whole knuckle assembly. It's only $95
    NEVER EVER seen anything like that with a "welded in" bearing

    • @T-MillProductions
      @T-MillProductions  7 місяців тому +1

      I’m sorry that happened to you man, I have seen that before on the rear wheel bearings on the old 04 style explorers. We had one at work that we took a torch too and left on the press all weekend and it simply wouldn’t come out no matter what we did. We did the same thing and just ordered a new knuckle for it. Sometimes that’s just the way to go. Are you up here in the salt belt or are you in a salt free climate?

      @@T-MillProductions I usually get it out with the press or hub shocker, this car the hubs are wider than any typical press and cannot fit stable unless there's all kinds of adapters used like you did. What do you mean? This is a press in bearing so you have to press the hub into the bearing regardless if you replace it with a new one or not. Do you mean a knuckle? As far as buying a knuckle with the bearing and hub already pre installed?
