Hi, I’m glad that you liked the video. Back when I was in the military we also produced our own lanyards for flashlights, but we always made them from paracord or something like that. The bungee gives it a lot of utility and I also saw that with GBRS first. 👍 Fabio

Hey! I just found your channel the other day. Really enjoy what you’re up to. I’m ex US Army & enjoy climbing & wild camping out here in the Arizona desert. Keep up the excellent content, people like you are hard to come by. Feel free to reach out if there’s anything I can help with & keep up the great work!

Hey, thanks a lot, really appreciate it and thank you for your service in the army! I served in the military for quite a few years as well, we owe a bunch to all the US services. I have another channel (not in English) that was solely focused on climbing, but I wanted to build a community here that goes beyond that single topic and has an audience like yourself, so I’m really glad that you’re here!

@@TakeTheHighground Where did you serve? I enjoy your vision of this channel & I’m sure it will catch a solid following. It’s nice to be able to find a resource to fall back on & cover skills/ topics that are known but lost to time if not used continuously, it’s like hanging out with a buddy & going over things before rolling out. Great stuff.

I served in the Austrian Military (we don’t have a split between Services, it’s one integrated service). Back then service was mandatory but I stayed for almost 10 years. After the WW2 Austria became neutral as a country so we’re still not in NATO but we have some joint operations with NATO and its members, e.g. at KFOR or UNDOF. Anyway thanks again and let’s definitely stay in touch, I’m super interested in your feedback on the topics I cover and also that should be covered.

Great video I’m wondering could you actually use shrink tube on the bungee cord ends to connect it underneath

It’s a good idea. If you only use shrink tube, I’d say that the ends will likely slip out of the tube at some point. I haven’t tried it, but it’s generally rather made to wrap something and protect it, than to actually connect it. I would be worried that I flip the flashlight to the back of my hand and it disappears into the darkness, never to be found again. But if you try it, let me know, it’s for sure an interesting thought.
