It took us 12 yrs and 13 cruises to reach D. Got 2 cruises before covid to enjoy the perks, then after covid was crushed to have some taken away bc so many turn D, that they now give some perks to D+ and above.....like special seats in theatre. Taking 8 cruises this past year has now got us to D+
seas the day, that is an amazing change of quality of life! Sounds like you did very short cruises all those 12 years? Did you recently retire? Reeling from the thought of how you could do 8 cruises in one year . . . more in 12 months than the previous 12 years combined! The diamond lounge wasn't a thing when the Viking Crown Lounge was implemented on the ships. Before the Oasis Class ships, they started to get designated areas which explains why a portion of the Viking Crown Lounge have been cut in portions. Some to include the suite Lounge. The Jazz on 4 was hardly filled so I see why they converted. Oasis Class ships don't have a pool similar to the Radiance or Freedom class ships). You'll love the pool in Harmony's solarium ( 😉). Sounds like a bigger ship may not be a winner for you.
Actually, we LOVED Allure and Symphony both (we're getting spoiled with everything to do on Oasis class). We were not Diamond yet when on those ships, so we didn't experience the basement. lol. I really do prefer the Solarium on the Freedom class ships, though. I just like full sun and a real pool! Thanks for watching!!
The "problem" with Wonder is that she originally was built for the asian cruise market. Just like Spectrum before. I've been on Spectrum, so if you know where to look, you can spot the areas which were planned for the asian passengers. Especially rich passengers from mainland China are very class-conscious. They don't mind to spend lots of money, but if they do, they want to be apart from the regular guests. So this is where the Gold Room casino fits in. Same for the Solarium and Solarium Bistro. For asian cruising, those areas probably will be retrofitted into suites-only areas. With Solarium Bistro being a restaurant reserved for lower-tier suites. Hooked might be switched into a higher-tier suites restaurant, but since there is already Coastal Kitchen, this might stay a regular upcharge restaurant for everyone.
Yes! I read the Golden Room was intended to be an "invitation only" room in the Asian market. It's now basically just an extension of the casino with maybe a high-stakes baccarat game now and then. Since I don't anticipate them moving it to Asia, as originally planned, sure wish they'd bring back the Jazz On 4. I'd guess it's not worth the money for the change (and they'll make more money off gambling than drinks in a jazz club. LOL!!).
So glad you mentioned the original plan for Wonder. I don’t think they knew when the video was done since they seemed shocked about the enclosed solarium. 👏👏
Just got off the Wonder. It was nice but not as good as the Allure before Covid. There were shortages of some drinks and beers also much less service overall on the entire ship. Dining menu is not as good as before Covid.
Guys you have remember this ship was not built for usa or Europe it built for China . My got its cruise not art gallery the China are hi rollers not pennys play machine
Very true! I read the Golden Room was intended to be a highroller "by invitation only" room in Asia. I think it's basically just an extension of the casino now, but maybe with some high-stake bacaarat tables or something similar. I'm sure there are penny slots somewhere! LOL. We'll seek out the casino host next time.
Peggy Gatlin Rice, apart from the lack of an outside window or view there, how was the food in the Diamond Lounge? The seating? The service? The opening hours? etc....

Sherif Khattab, M.D., did you report this to Guest Services during your cruise? You also have lots of room to write in the post-cruise survey about what went well and what needs attention. You should definitely follow this with Royal Caribbean's Guest Services via email and/or by the call-centre. If you used a reputable travel-agent, you should always give your feedback to your travel-agency, and then enlist it in your efforts to advocate for appropriate corrective action on behalf of affected guests. Postscript: I just realised the ironic humour in this scenario: an Aqua (WATER) Suite became flooded. [smile] And now you feel hung out to dry by whoever should have given you some apology and rebate or future cruise credit or something like that.
Diamond lounges aren’t the same now since you get the drinks vouchers. There’s nothing special about going to the diamond lounges anymore you used to get an happy hour of drinks so you had to go there for free drinks now there’s not much point. The only useful thing is the concierge in the diamond lounge. As for the windjammer I feel your pain there wasn’t many staff asking if you would like a drink normally you get loads of staff asking to the point sometimes it’s annoying 😂.
We like to check them out on every ship, but you’re right. It’s just not as special anymore. Allure is the only Oasis class left with the diamond lounge in an amazing location. And I assume when she’s amped, that will change. ☹️
Andrew Smith, from my observation, the Diamond Lounge remains an exclusive benefit. For instance, the busier and more crowded other parts of a ship are, the more one appreciates the quiet and sparely occupied spaces such as the Library, the Fitness Centre (most of the time), the Spa, the Solarium, and the special lounges such as Diamond Lounge, Suites Lounge, and Concierge Lounge. I think that it is important to appreciate the rewards of getting to the highest three levels even if some things change over the years. The food and the service in these exclusive Lounges are also something to treasure. By the way, have you found that the Diamond Lounge is available 24/7? It definitely helps that it opens only to persons with the appropriate level of access. Also, if there are some things like specialty coffees that are complimentary in this kind of lounge that are otherwise at a surcharge everywhere else on the ship, the savings and the value accumulate to hundreds or even thousands of dollars per cruise.....
I am Diamond Plus. Of course we like to see the ocean, but that is not an issue for us. We hardly go there any more anyway. Have your drinks on deck! But that is a good idea, kids don't care about the view. Hey I've got that Wake View shirt! LOL Artwork?, they can take that art and shove it, not on a ship to purchase art, I'm cruisin! Don't gamble either, not wasting my time in that smoke hole. I like the look of the Solarium, just glad it isn't like Harmony, which has nothing! Hello! Do you see a toe anywhere??? We go in Sept.23 will let you know. Central Park is a fave of mine too...love the chill. I love love love the drones on Symphony. I will be happy with Wonder, I'm a half full kinda gal...and by then everything will be nailed down and tight. Can't wait. Loved your review!
Bec Well, congratulations to you on reaching the second highest level in Royal Caribbean's loyalty-programme! How long did it take you to reach that milestone? How have you found the food-quality in the Diamond Lounge? The service? The opening hours? I think that having a few exclusive and quiet spaces is a wonderful benefit to escape the public areas that tend to be crowded and/or busy. I also think that it is a big saving to be able to have complimentary things in the Diamond Lounge that would otherwise cost a lot extra (hundreds to thousands of dollars) over the course of a cruise. E.g., the 4 to 6 vouchers per day are worth up to U.S.$14 each and that is $56 to $84 in potential value PER DAY. That benefit alone becomes extremely valuable over a lifetime....Of course, as you do, I would enjoy the new flexibility of being able to access the Diamond (and above) daily drink-vouchers at any venue on the ship, but to have exclusive access to at least one lounge remains something to treasure as the ships grow bigger (Icon of the Seas will have up to 7,500 guests!) and the other spaces become, at times, noisy, busy, and/or crowded.
I enjoy your videos but I’m wondering if you are afraid about backlash for your honest to your experience opinions. It seems like you back track on a lot of your opinions. You are sweet. Wake view best view😂hilarious
For god sake the (Allure) oasis class don't have pool but the freedom (class) of the seas did. Again this ship was NOT made for people like you or me it was made for Chinese. on its trip from Barcelona to ft Lauderdale all its Chinese signs was all change to English. They still up dating. We are on the Wonder in September 11th 2022 so have done our home work
We were on the 5th sailing, so at the time, there wasn't much info out there about her. I'm so glad there is now for you before your sailing. Have a great cruise!
@@minorumatthews5257 I agree with you about that. My goal has been to be a cruising pro so that I know about and avoid all the cons. For instance, I never go on new ships. I wait until something is thoroughly tested, reviewed, and improved . . . and then wait for prices to descend from their overhyped first-few-years stratosphere and then strike when I see real bargains and excellent value for money. E.g., I just saw amazing deals with another Royal Caribbean ship in December and, to my astonishment, one of them includes Christmas! So that would be my first Christmas cruise ever. Usually, any itinerary with Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Easter weekend, Thanksgiving, Spring Break, or other public holidays is priced at a noticeable premium.
@thescallytrader1193 look in your own mirror you are the problem! To judge and come at people the way you just did for being honest about their views you need help to be a better human being and a more understanding person because you must have one miserable life to feel you should act as you do… Very shameful and sad.

You're a hoot! Sounds like we are two peas in a pod. LOL. Thanks for watching!!
Combine the art room and the golden room lol
There you go! They needed YOU in on the deck planning. LOL!
Some of the cons on your list are legitimate. Some are kind of petty 🤷🏻♂️.
But over all, good info. 😊
you two are just adoreable.
My husband has a $20.00 limit in the Casino. My rule is:if you double your money, you are to give me a $20.00, then you can bet the $20.
I enjoy your videos but I’m wondering if you are afraid about backlash for your honest to your experience opinions. It seems like you back track on a lot of your opinions. You are sweet.
Wake view best view😂hilarious
Not afraid at all. Just sharing the full breadth of my thoughts, which often involve thoughts and feelings in between total like and dislike. 👍🏼
That con list is so petty
It’s all just opinions. Thanks for watching. 👍🏼
Can you be my third grandpa and grandma?
🤣😂
If you go on Wonder of the Seas and find any 'problems' you need to look in the mirror because that's where the 'problem' is.
It’s our favorite ship so far, but everyone has their preferences. Thanks for watching!
That’s a very rude comment to make, every ship has its pros and cons.
