Even though been on Ovation 3x (Quantum 3x), I am enjoying your review to get me excited for upcoming April Hawaii-vancouver. Did you figure out the butterfly interactive picture? Doghouse has good potato salad. Those cookies are called Ranger Cookies. 270 Cafe has soup, noodle bowls, salad, deserts, fruit cups, a specialty coffee bar. They also have a lite breakfast in the morning. Vetrans Salute is on every ship. It started after covid startup. My hubby is retired Navy. Intermitant internet is common on Alaska cruise, on any ship.
Great info. We always call the cookies “crack cookies “ because we can’t stop eating them. 😂 The vet salutes on other ships we’ve been on were on the Promenade. This seemed special being in the theatre, I think. They didn’t have one on Celebrity, which we were surprised at since they are the same company. 🤷♀️
Just finished our cruise with Ovation. It was way too small for us. The entertainment was horrible. We loved the crew, the North Star was absolutely amazing. We loved our Oasis class and will be on the Star of the Sea in 2026.
I loved the food on Quantum class. I'm in Australia so Aussies beware you WON'T get any coffee other than Starbucks. Port days are the only days you'll get a good espresso hit. We dont do buffets. Even with the Washy Washy, you still have hundreds of hands touching the tongs. So we did the MDR and would give them 10/10. We didn't try Jamies because virtually everything on the menu was things i cook at home, Isumi was okay, but no Teppanyaki or Hibachi. Wonderland was amazing! Sailing again on Ovation in November and will try Chops.Aussies might find the pizzas at Sorrentos rather under par, we did. okay if you're desperate. Cafe promenade was nice, we didn't try the cookies because i dislike undercooked ones, gotta be crispy and have that snap. I did try an eclaire from La Patisserie and found it wasnt as good as i hoped. Soggy. We made up for it in Noumea 😅. Loved the theme nights at the MDR and our waiters were fabulous! The food is the same as in Windjammer but ordered as you want it and brought to your table hot and fresh, hasn't been sitting under a lamp with dirty tongs. I had 1 lunch in WJ and got Covid. Breakfasts in the MDR are freshly made with eggs done as you like them. We lunched at Cafe TWO70 , or Solarium Bistro on sea days. All shows were fantastic as was our room steward.
We are taking this ship from Hawaii back to Australia in Oct this year 2024. We are definitely booking Wonderland restaurant! Glad you gave the MDR the thumbs.
I am going on my first cruise at the end of the year, on this ship. As a rookie I’m a bit nervous but I really enjoyed this video! I’ve subscribed and look forward to watching the rest of your videos! Thanks!
Quantum class is the now 3rd largest class of ships for Royal Caribbean. Windjammer is the buffet. MDR is the main dining room for sit down, set menu meals.
Are there any freebies we should know ? If you sail with Carnival , on the first night and only the first night , if you book Fahrenheit 555 restaurant you get a free/complimentary red or white bottle of wine ! We are sailing back from Hawaii to Australia this Oct on Ovation of the Seas. I do know that on the first 2 days in the Casino you get free money on the slots any where between 2 and 200 bucks credit. I’ve heard use it or lose it but you have to play the slots to find out how much credit you get. Cheers Rod
Royal Caribbean will often offer specialty dining 50% off the first night, which is a great deal, but freebies not usually. 🙁 They usually reserve those for folks with VIP status (in the frequent cruisers club called Crown & Anchor).
Good review, thank you! We were on the Quantum last May. It had the strangest Art in the hallways, I’m hoping that the art on the Ovation is an improvement, we board in two weeks. 😊 Edit: the buffet in the Solarium Bistro is quite good and the area is usually less crowded.
Thanks for the cruise info. We are cruising on her in August to Alaska I am launching my channel after that cruise. What editing software are you using? Thanks
We were on 9. We’ve never been on a low deck (as recommended for sea sickness), so not sure if that would matter. We’ve learned the patch works wonders for him, so he just puts it on first day now as preemptive action. 👍🏼 Have a great cruise!!
We have a TA we LOVE. Her name is Cindy Van Kirk. Her email is cindy.oa@sendme.global. 👍🏼 She also has a FB page which she answers messages from as well.
Our Alaska cruise coming up September 2024 party of 12 😊 thank you for this review.
You’re welcome! New AK cruise planning video coming out this afternoon. 👍🏼

New to cruising.. what is quantum class? Also, what’s the difference between the windjammer & MDR? Thanks

@@AllThingsWagner thanks
What a lovely couple you are. ❤
Thanks so much!
@@AllThingsWagner just finished watching the Ovation food review, I loved it.
What floor was your cabin? Did that affect sea sickness? Going on my first Olvation in September.

@@AllThingsWagner Thanks for these tips! We are going on Ovation in December and I didn't know about the patches. Hope I can remember this by then!
If you don't mind me asking, who do you use or could suggest using to book your cruises?
We have a TA we LOVE. Her name is Cindy Van Kirk. Her email is cindy.oa@sendme.global. 👍🏼 She also has a FB page which she answers messages from as well.
Great! Thank you so much>@@AllThingsWagner
Just book direct with Royal Caribbean via their web site …
The Windjammer is in the FRONT of the ship and not the back, not sure if I want to watch your video anymore, good try.
lol. I constantly forget. I understand if I’ve lost your trust forever. 😉
