    For anyone with eyes, this is obvious: This video is performed by none other than Alex Krycek himself. He states that he died in this video to throw you off the tracks, but anyone with visual perceptive abilities can see that Krycek is right there.
    So the real backstory here is that Krycek got a job at Cracked by having some strings pulled by the Cracked higher ups who owed him a favor. Anyone remember when Cracked was just a wannabe Mad Magazine? Although actually kind of well written, how do you think a ripoff of Mad Magazine became a successful online presence? Being sold off and utilizing a group of young marketing, social media, and comedy wizards? WRONG. The answer, is alien DNA. That's right, motherfucker.
    Cracked the magazine, was genetically modified with alien DNA brought in by none other than Krycek- the man in this video. Season 3 Episode 16 is when Krycek spits out the alien DNA infused black oil into a drain that actually led directly to the printing presses of Cracked. The rest, is history.
    Around 40% of the content writers at Cracked are greys who get paid in human children, cows, and sometimes Euros. This video's purpose is to convince you that Krycek is dead, Cracked is a human led organization, and that I'm crazy.
    Whatever this man says, don't listen to him. I am perfectly fine and have uncovered more truth than you know lies.
    -Fox Mulder (using hacked UA-cam account courtesy of The Lone Gunmen)

      +Rav Enj You think that I, Fox Mulder, can't use commas? That's because commas are actually part of a conspiracy to slow down the way humans talk, and therefore how we think and act, until we are too slow and fat to fight when the aliens invade. Obviously.

    You guys missed some pretty big plot points in this.
    1. The show isn't spoken of through Mulder's perspective, but Skully's. She is in charge of writing the reports to the Skinner, so everything we see or here is from her description. She even says his case completion is like 70%, so he isn't chasing a bunch of fabricated stories. Unless of course she has pulled a Harley Quinn and is now brainwashed.
    2. Mulder does get his leads from FBI databases. He gets his missions through various means. Hell in some episode it's Skully or even other FBI who convince him to go after them, as he finds them too strange or doesn't see a obvious mystery.
    3. They totally try to get rid of Mulder when he gets too close. The only reason he isn't dead or imprisoned is because of Skully, Deep Through, fuck even Skinner himself has his back during the major events. Every goddamn season there is an arc about them trying to end his career.
    Mulder is a bit wacky, but the events he and Skully witness are not just his imagination.

    • @edwxx20001
      @edwxx20001 9 років тому +21

      +Illier1 unless of course this is the brilliant mind of Mulder imagining that the reports that skully is writing must be the FBI case files for the X-files and not some report on his mental health. That he goes on to believe and imagine the situations that he finds himself in from her perspective and what he must look like from her "UNOPENED" eyes.
      the problem with any explanation of physios dreams or imagination is that the story can always be stretched to fit ANY explanation you want to put it in, sure Mulder could be crazy or it could all be a dream or it was all the writings of a mad lunatic who is unconnected and wrote the whole thing using his imagination.
      it could even have been written by a team of people over a decade to be consumed by a mass market audience, with mulder and skully being actors on the set.
      flash theroy, it was all a TV show inside a dream inside the physios of Mulder thinking from the prospective of skully inside a tv show.

      It should also be mentioned that the X-Files was not an actual part Department of the FBI It was a collection of case files labeled Unexplained, hence X-Files until Mulder found them in the archives nobody was expected to actually investigate what happened in these cases. The unexplained label basically meant, "Fuck it we have no clue what happened" in a way Mulder was doing the FBI a favor investigating these cases no one else wanted anything to do with. A big stack of unsolved cases in the basement does not look good on the Bureau's record.

    This theory is flawed from the very start. The show is told through the perspective of Agent Scully mixed with the occasional side character perspective thrown in, Mulder once in a great while. Even the creators of the show state it's told in Scully's perspective.

      Not to shit on you, but you're super wrong. Hell there's so many episodes where Scully is either abducted or indisposed. Mulder thought a homeless woman was a neanderthal. Scully wasn't even there, she had a birthday party to go to while Mulder sleeping on the streets.

    • @hellund2874
      @hellund2874 3 роки тому +1

      @@Wiffernubbin While there are times when the series takes on Mulder's perspective (as op stated once in a while it does shift) when Scully is absent, the series as a whole is from Scully's perspective, i.e. the perspective of the skeptic (standing in for the viewer. Which does not mean Mulder isn't the heart or the center of the show (bit like Great Gatsby being all about Gatsby but told from the perspective of Nick). It starts out with Scully being assigned to spy on Mulder which Mulder only suspected, but the viewer knew about; that's also why there are so many episodes where Mulder just randomly goes off to chase something and the viewer wonders along with Scully what he's been getting up to; plus halfway through the series it's more and more Mulder who gets abducted and disappears, so Scully even becomes the main character for a while.

  • @NikSoren
    @NikSoren 8 років тому +36

    Have you ever watched the series? Mulder is assigned to the X-Files after years working in regular cases in the FBI because he kinda "earned" the right to work wherever the hell he wanted, it was kind of a "my way or the highway" thing he did with the FBI at this point. And there are several episodes where you see Scully and Skinner bringing the cases to him, they also see the same supernatural stuff and get in serious danger to help Mulder in his errands, LIKE BEING SHOT IN THE HEAD.
    You probably haven't watch any episodes of the mithology or just forgot, like, everything you ever saw about that series.
    Your theory can only stand if you consider all of the characters shown in the series are also hallucinating.

    Except Scully ended up having a child with him. That level of breaking the medical trust of doctor and patient will make a lot of people nervous. You also omitted people like The Long Gunmen and Skinner. No to mention we had seen people going to Mulder with cases in his office. The also Doggett and Reyes...You should had made up a couple of patients to fill on for the other characters at least. This theory is too weak.

      +Ryan Hau Maybe he creates Agent Doggett in his mind and imagines he is him. A split personality? Maybe Agent Doggett doesn't exist? Maybe the whole point of the show is to stop a corrupt secrete society banking cartel government from taking over the world like they said in S10 E1? The whole alien thing was just advanced technology created by the government withholding it from the public to create a fake alien invasion so people would comply with a one world government? If this is true it would make one hell of an ending but also a shitty one at the same time. Just think of the genius in that though.

    • @SA80TAGE
      @SA80TAGE 8 років тому +2

      Ryan Hau well, since the show starts when Scully appears, and continues when Mulder is gone (with Dogget) it sure as hell can't be in Mulders head. Add to that the fact that Scully does all the reports and narration.

    Interesting theory but it dies when you talk about Mulder scouring the internet. The 90s were not that way. What, you think he was on AOL trying to find conspiracy theories?

    • @krissisk4163
      @krissisk4163 8 років тому +6

      It's possible. The internet explosion happened in 92. Even before that - when internet access was mostly limited to businessmen, scientists, college students, and elder geeks - it was pretty common for news stories, especially weird ones, to find their way onto BBSes. By the time the first episode of X-Files aired every major newspaper in the country had a website, or at the very least, a newsgroup.

    • @Qscraps
      @Qscraps 7 років тому

      *****
      I was around during that time and spent a good amount of time on BBS's. Scouring the internet wasn't a real thing back then. It was just one computer calling another.

      There was no internet. This was before AOL and everything else. The internet was just modems and comps calling each other.

      Jen B
      I was around for that too, and from what you're describing it sounds like you were just on the very fringes of the internet. When I dialed in it was to a shell session on a Unix server owned by my ISP. From there I was able to check my email and use tools like telnet to connect to whatever service I happened to have the address for, mostly BBSes, Usenet nodes, and MUDs. Initially I got the addresses for them from fellow geeks, but once I had access to one BBS finding the addresses for others was pretty easy. Sure, the Web wasn't a thing yet, but the Internet most definitely was.
      I'll agree that "scouring" the internet wasn't really a thing, but spending an hour or so reading through any of a couple hundred BBSes was. And some of the stories on them were exactly the right brand of weird to attract Moulder's attention. And that doesn't even take into account some of the truly freakish stuff that was on Usenet.

    The thing is the X-Files pandered a lot of the time to woo stupidity. In the real world Mulder who be under treatment for paranoia and / or dismissed has an utter kook. The show all too often seemed to be scared shitless of saying "This is stupid", "this is utter nonsense", and so instead pandered to it. Thus one of the most boring tropes of the show was the relentless way it pushed Scully is wrong, way wrong, near totally wrong, and of course reason and rationality are bad. Childish faith was toted has good and constantly Mulder's childish, brain killing maxim "I want to believe!" was pushed and celebrated. Of course the show did sometimes parody and make fun of Mulder's braindead stupidities but over and over again the show pandered to the very worst of conspiracy and woo idiocy.

      When it first started, it was a fresh take on conspiracy stories. However it very quickly became 'Mulder finds evidence/witness that aliens/werewolves/monsters are real. See, I love weird theories like this... except for when they completely ignore opposing evidence within the narrative. The smoking man intentionally put Mulder in that position to see if he could handle those kinds of situations and as a way of giving him a cookie (the opportunity to search for his sister is absolutely a reward in itself). The idea was, if Mulder had the chops, he could be brought in on it.
    This isn't a theory, it's canonical fact. It doesn't happen in the background or from pausing and reading computer screens and letters. It's an entire multi-season plotline that takes a decent portion of the spotlight, with the characters directly speaking to each other on multiple occasions and bluntly saying the thing I just said.
    So, yeah. That's why The Syndicate put a person who might discover them in the exact job where he'd have the resources and authority to discover them. It's also why they made him partner with someone who'd question his beliefs. While the Smoking Man wanted to bring Mulder in, the rest of his "friends" didn't entirely trust TSM and they certainly didn't trust Mulder so they set up circumstances where they could put him on a sort of leash.

  • @ThisUselessHeart2
    @ThisUselessHeart2 9 років тому +3

    This is a funny theory, but it's pretty easily debunked if one has seen a ton of episodes of the show. The main counterpoint being that there were episodes that either barely featured Mulder or that didn't feature Mulder at all. If Scully and sometimes others chased monsters and aliens without Mulder then clearly that stuff wasn't solely in Mulder's mind. Also, the part about Krycek is kinda silly because it's very clearly established that Scully is a medical doctor and therefore I think if Krycek were one that would've certainly also been very established, however that point I will sort of grant you because as per your theory Mulder could just be imagining Krycek the way he is when he's really a doctor, but then idk because he still sees Scully as a doctor.
    Also, there are opening sequences of the show where the agents start out in their basement office, so while we don't technically see them handed their assignments all too often to say they just start out episodes in the field most of the time is just also inaccurate.
    But like I said, it's a pretty fun theory, I guess. There's plenty of canon evidence that Mulder's a little off psychologically and he's a very damaged individual, so I can get behind the idea that he's crazy. XD

    I personally don't like the theory as it is presented here. Basically, the theory assassinates the character of Fox Mulder, and attributes the fantastic to Mulder being crazy AND incompetent. It reminds me of what was done to Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi, (subversion of expectations sucks when it depreciates the artistic piece it's used on!)
    I think this theory could kick ads though, if we assume that Mulder is exponentially competent, and that makes sense, because what other reason would the FBI keep him around if he's crazy? So we stick as close as possible to the source material, and Mulder is still fighting abnormal evils, just "mumdane" abnormal evils.
    Mulder has dissociated the evil actions of man to such a degree that he cannot perceive serial killers, rapists, child slavers, and the wretches who walk the earth as anything other then full on monsters.
    Yet...Mulder is extremely competent in catching these baddies, and almost seems psychic in how he ferrets out conspiracies of psychopaths! In fact, the conspiracy with the aliens turns out to be a government conspiracy of psychopaths to acquire high level officials slaves, and the U.S. military, guinea pig test subjects.
    The story then becomes enhanced by the theory, or at least is as interesting with it present. Cracked, don't make the same tired Hollywood mistake of messing with beloved properties, characters, and stories just to shut on them, smh

    Wow! I just had an epiphany!!
    As you mentioned the way Mulder described his sister's abduction, a theory poped in my head! I think i know exactly what happened. Well, i don't know what happened to his sister except that it was nothing supernatural or extraterrestrial. Maybe she really was abducted, but by ordinary humans, or maybe something else happened to her and Mulder simply can't bring himself to accept it (and prefers to believe she was abducted, so at least he has something to hold on to). But so, what happened that night? THAT'S what i think i know...
    Mulder woke up in the middle of the night, during REM sleep, and that originated a sleep paralysis episode. It's actually quite common (i've had it happen to me a few times). During sleep paralysis, one sees everything around but feels completely motionless. Then, it's very common to feel a "presence" in the room, something evil, and the wilsdest hallucinations can follow. People have described aliens or demons in the room, and sometimes an old witch lady. During one episode of my own i saw a couple of demonic dark figures next to my bed - it was NOT funny!
    So, by an unfortunate coincidence, Mulder had a SP episode in the same night his sister disappeared for some reason, and now he believes aliens did it. Makes sense to me.

    What do you mean "might be"? Of course Mulder is mentally unstable and it's only due to nepotism and dumb bureaucracy that he is able to remain "employed" by the FBI. Hell, Skinner was probably not qualified for his position, but got it after agreeing to play along with Mulder. There's a reason Mulder never once properly solved a case, because any case solved directly, openly, by him, would not stand in court. The saddest thing was the FBI was willing to sacrifice Scully, keeping her in direct contact with Mulder until she herself becomes mentally unwell and falls in love with him, that's probably why they chose her even though she was very young.

  • @jondreauxlaing
    @jondreauxlaing 8 років тому +1

    I'll be honest, I'm only watching X-Files now, and I'm only on Season 3, but I thought the same thing pretty early on. One thing you missed is that when something REALLY supernatural happens, it seems like Scully is never actually there to witness it herself. When she writes her reports, she's forced to take Mulder's word for it and say "there is currently no explanaition".
    Also, if we accept that Mulder is delusional, and the story is told through his eyes, then there's no reason to think that Scully is actually a forensics doctor. She may actually be his therapist, who is pulling a "Shutter Island" style, "let's go with your delusion to see if you can work it out yourself".

  • @therantingboy
    @therantingboy 9 років тому +1

    That doesn't work unless everything is in Mulder's head - which you said it wasn't. We're frequently shown supernatural events, strange phenomena, aliens and shadowy government agents in scenes that don't contain Mulder. We're very clearly shown UFOs, alien bodies, paranormal events, monsters etc. The reason Mulder is called Spooky and not taken seriously by his peers, is because that adds to the idea of him being the underdog we're rooting for. It makes it more satisfying when he gets one over on his colleagues (a technique used in lots of detective films, even something like Ace Ventura - kooky brilliant detective not taken seriously but turns out to be right). We're shown too much of the X Files world away from Mulder, and it being all a delusional Shutter Island fantasy undermines what the show is trying to do. In my mind, one of the big themes of the show is actually faith. Science vs religion. It ironically flips things on its head because Mulder, the detective who's supposed to use rational analysis, evidence and logic - often falls back on leaps of faith, feelings and unwavering belief. Whereas Scully, who's a medical professional who is often the voice of rational thought and scepticism is actually a Christian which seems at major odds with science. There's also the theme of being believed, which is very important in conspiracy films. If Mulder's sister really were abducted by a human, it would be surely more likely he'd end up in the FBI taking on kidnapping cases. It's a nice idea and theory and you've hit on some great themes in the show, but I just don't buy it! :)

  • @ThatGamingAsshole
    @ThatGamingAsshole 9 років тому +4

    This is a viable theory, as long as it applies ONLY to Spooky One himself.
    The problem is, there are people outside of his circle who have seen and confirmed all of this. The Lone Gunmen, Skully, Dogget and others have all seen and experienced these things, in fact several episodes have nothing to do with Mulder and either focus on someone else entirely or involve him so tangentially they may as well---like the one where Mulder is caught in a time warp and Skully is the only one aware, or the incident withe guy who could will the Brady Bunch to life but was casting from hitpoints cause it was a weird episode, or really everything that happened in the Lone Gunmen show which, unless you also posit everyone on Earth is also a figment of his imagination, MUST have happened.
    What I'm saying is that Mulder may well be insane, and likely is delusional, but the truth sure as fuck is out there.
    GG tho Cracked.

    The X Files were started by another FBI agent back in the 50's called Arthur Dales. The secretary of the FBI would put all the unsolved cases under the letter "X".
    Since appearances were everything to the Syndicate and their greatest fear was exposure, to destroy the files with the unsolved cases would have been way too exposing.
    Pressure to create a section to solve those cases was probably too high, since it would have been weird to have no unsolved case whatsoever. As such, the greenlight for the creation of the X-Files section was done but the Syndicate made sure to keep an eye on an agent deemed to spooky and bonkers for anyone to take seriously.
    To kill Mulder, though, would have been a disaster, since his death would have cause a crusade in the FBI (as we see when he goes missing in season 7) and would have exposed the Syndicate. Basically, they would have made him a martyr.
    People would ask question and consider Mulder's theories, lots of digging would have been done on the X-Files itself.
    This fear of exposure made the Syndicate to thread carefully so their main task was to discredit the X-Files and whomever was investigating them.

    One of the problems with some of these theories is that you know for a fact that the writers never ever meant to do that, so analyzing it is a bit weird. Like the theory about Agbara being in the future simply because Robin Williams independently chose to make some voices from contemporary culture. The Mulder theory isn't true, although I do wonder if in the beginning some writers may have thought of it. I just finished watching "Shadows" (season 1, ep 6) for the first time in my life, and in it, you see Mulder running into a building, seeing something impossible (man levitating) and then after the man falls to the ground Scully enters the room. So they can maintain their roles as a believer and a skeptic. That could easily have been a perfect example for this video, but... we're talking 9 years of content just for the original show.

    The only problem with these kinds of theories is that it implies that ultimately the creative team behind the show wasn't very good at imparting the added layer of depth to the viewing audience if this was their intent. It's the same problem with why the indoctrination theory in Mass Effect doesn't work. If ultimately that's what Bioware was going for then they really suck at actually paying it off in the end. Which is why these sorts of things will always just remain fan theories.

  • @kladdagh
    @kladdagh 9 років тому

    Actually, you missed some of the more glaring points that contradict your theory. First, the X-Files are usually cold cases. They're taken up more voluntarily.
    Second, not all of the episodes had resolutions of something being an alien or a monster. I can think specifically of "The Post-Modern Prometheus."
    Other stories don't feature Mulder at all, while many parts to the story feature characters like Krychek and Scully without him, and they talk about what they experienced. You can't have the characters talking about those experiences without Mulder and have it somehow be Mulder's delusion. It's because in the world of the X files, there is more to the world than what you experience in the everyday.

    Mulder, isn't exactly their top criminal profiler. That's why they assigned him to The X-files and Scully was initially sent to evaluate him and report back to Skinner or someone higher up. I came up with a theory pretty close to this as a kid, actually. Never really got into the stuff about Krychek not actually being dead, but a lot of the rest of it occurred to me. It seems to me that the unreliable narrator may have been their aim in the first few seasons (Watch Jose Chung's From Outer Space to get a feel for just how batshit crazy Mulder seems from Scully's point of view) and perhaps they lost sight of it when people just started taking things at face value, and especially when Mulder got abducted and Scully just started believing in every stupid theory that came her way (oh my word, the last couple seasons sucked). It really always seemed to me that the series started out with way different ideals than it ended with.
    And who knows... maybe this reboot will rectify the missed opportunity of an episode about skeletons.

    This kind of conspiracy hypothesis is neither informative nor interesting. Basically it can be applied to *any* show. "The show has something weird, absurd in it, therefore, everything is the imagination of the protagonist." I read the same thing about The Simpsons... The Simpsons is weird, so it is all in Homer's imagination.
    Guess what? The real explanation is... it has weird things going on because it is a TV show. The writers aren't perfect, so they make mistakes and sometimes do not check the fact. That is why there are weird things, not because the whole story is the imagination of the protagonist.

Like they imply that 90% of the weird shit Mulder and Scully encounter in the first like 4 seasons is all orchestrated by the goverment for Mulder to 'expose'..........including making fake alien and ufo's.............from alien tech and alien dna................yeah it doesn't really make a lot of sense to be honest. It would be like If i wanted to draw everyone's attention from the Loch ness monster........by making my own monster.........from Lochness monster DNA...........?

    "A GM who wants to shake up his players can have a Delusion turn out to be true. (And remember: the GM won't tell you that you are not really crazy. *You can be right and still be crazy...*)"
    -GURPS Basic Set: Characters, p.130 ( *emphasis* added) explaining the rules for the "Delusions" Disadvantage. It just somehow seemed appropriate here.

    We'll see how this goes, as season 10 of X-Files is coming out soon.

    I always thought that the character's name, "Marita Covarrubias" (the informant who turns out to be working for The Syndicate) was a play on words, resembling the words, "Martian Cover-up." Or am I the only one to see this resemblance? False cognate, anyone? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? :-P
