This video brings back so many good memories. I raced the psychosis in '99. I recall someone took a photo of me rolling over the big rock at 18:33 of the video - the best part was we were given paper dinner plates to use as number plates! The trail and racing was raw back then. Thanks Remy!
@@mumblerocks77 TBH, we didn't know how steep it was until we arrived the evening before the race and rode some practices sessions. We had already paid entry fee and accommodations so we were at the point of no-return. Of the mere mortals who raced, those who cleaned the top section basically won. Finishing times were around 15 minutes if you rode it clean. I remember the wrist pump being so bad by the time I reached the finish, I couldn't even pull the brake levers.
Such a well edited and put together video. This gave a really great sense of the Steepness and how consequential it could be! Well ridden, mate! When you hear Remy say he was nervous about the steep after the rain, you KNOW it's damn gnarly. Cheers!
I would definetly pass through everything, but the speed test Remy does is incredible... with a test ride and with a quick look, he goes down insanely fast
I enjoy the view from your camera man so we can see your body position going to this kind of stuff. It’s always very tempting to get SUPER far back but it’s cool to see that you can still keep your arms bent and relaxed. Nice work!
Great video also wanted to say I really like how throughout your videos you stop to explain how best to navigate the terrain you are riding. Basically quick tutorials that are super helpful. Thx and keep the great videos coming 👍 🚴♂️😎
Remy thanks the videos. The passion and the urge to progress and be safe with body position and line choice. Can’t wait to hit the trails and apply what I’ve been learning. If you ever come to thunder let us viewers know. Would love to your riding in person man! Cheers from Northeast USA!
Loving the content recently, everything has been on point, the riding, the cinematics, the editing, and the behind the scenes of what’s going on inside your head! Keep it coming!!
Really cool. When I rode this the first time 17 years ago I just remember sliding locked up wheels the entire way down dead dog. You missed the drops at the cliff section at 18:33 :-).
That was a crazy trail, and some amazing riding. I like how you break it all down and explain your thinking for each part of the trail. That will help a lot the next time I ride a steep decent.
use to ride dead dog in early 2000s with cam breaks, not even v breaks! we would sand the rims to get extra grip. no matter what you ride it with its the real deal.
Really like the colors of the handheld camera! :) Well done Remy. I really know the struggle - I can’t enjoy riding when I don’t know where I’ll able to stop again. Steeps are fun when you can control them - you did really good in the first section! 👌🏽🔥 That lower part looks so much fun 🙃
I hear ya, I was like "yes!! You gotta use that tree as a deflect..,okay now get ready for root hell.... " impressive riding as always especially knowing this trail well.
Ah, Mt 7, I have launched my hang glider there many times. As a MTB rider and a hang glider pilot the thought of launching my hang glider there puts a smile on my face and gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, the thought of dropping into that steep MTB trail scares the sh!t out of me.
What a trail! 😱 Like a giant rollercoaster for bikes. "S..t your pants" steep at the beginning when you're nearly out of control followed by crazy fast flowy "freight train speedy Remy" part with trees whizzing by at a rate higher then my heart watching this😳. You did it again Remy, never ceasing to amaze us. Thank you!
The thing a love about watching yours and Phil's vids is the amazing line choices! I see the line i'd take and bam you're off on some other wild line! Great stuff!
I'm so glad you know your limits with such precision but I still say you speedster downhillers are a special breed of crazy...Can't imagine going anywhere near that fast down a slope like that 😵💫
Nice work Remy! Having attempted Dead Dog in full grease, full flour and actually rode it when "ideal", I've never been so impressed that you were able to go so slow!
Hey Remy Great video it's super interesting to see how you analyze the wet conditions and behave accordingly. Here in switzerland it is extremely dry and dusty at the moment it would be very interesting to see how you react to dusty almost sandy surfaces and what you pay special attention to.
don't beat yourself up for admitting to your mistakes Remy....there's lots of tubers out there who only show the good bits and others think ever trail is "peachy" stay safe 🙏
Your a great rider. Looks like fun- though after my mTBI, I would not dream to ever do that. Every time you pasted a tree at speed, my head hurt. You have no idea until you hit your head how quickly your life can change. 3 years out I am better but still not the same. I use to be just as fearless as you- ski off cliffs, mountain bikes, jump motorcycles, judo, you name it. When you get a bit older, you value things differently. Now I am more into fitness, running, nutrition (I used for healing), my dog and my guitar! Stay safe- Cheers!
This has to be the craziest riding I've ever seen! It would be really cool if we could see your speed while you rip these trails, put it into perspective how fast you're shredding.
One of the nastiest trail I ever raced on. Did the race trail back in 2000 on Specialize P3 hardtail. Will have to venture back there one day and Oldman it.... super awsome content. Keep it up.
Remy you are such a dialed rider I love watching your vids you inspire me more and more everyday thankyou for that and keep em coming lol your awesome 👌
btw Remy..I think it would be really interesting for you to just quickly explain your set up (e.g tyre pressures...shock set up..high and low speed rebound.) for all the different rides you do ...squamish...whistler...steep boggy conditions like today cheers from Sydney ! 🤙
Sheesh. How steep does that second section look, even with the GoPro effect? You summed it up nicely where the average mug punter survives a trail but it's not that enjoyable. Obviously there is a difference where the conditions weren't great for you, but for a lot of us, the trails asks us questions we have no answer for. Keep up the content dude!
Went down a steep bit today for the first time. Embsay Crag in England. No where near as fast, and had trouble with the rocks but the steep bit was like the trail you were at. Bloody scary.
I rode dead dog in the rain and I’ve never been so scared on a mountain bike. Coming from riding Squamish/Pemby trails, usually riding in the rain makes for better dirt conditions…not a slip and slide on clay. I feel much better about my experience after watching you struggle as well.
Great video Remy! Nice to see you are human and do struggle sometimes like us normal riders. Is the video with the bear encounter available to see? Love your videos and passion! Keep them coming 👍🏻🙂
rode my bike in the garage a bit today, how's everyone else doing? :} amazing brake control mr Rémy, some sections are literally too steep and slicky to walk..
Finally Remy blessed us with beautiful views at 0:390:400:421:11 what made me laugh is when he said I’ve done it twice now the third time I go a bit quicker as if the 2ed time wasn’t fast enough lol
@@tedo2367 yeah definitely Couldn’t believe how fast he went down the shoot 2ed time never mind the 3ed time I would love to see him go down Part of the trail where he hit the tree because he went riders right as fast as he went down the shoot at the start it’s crazy but when you As talented as he is pretty sure he could’ve done it lol
En cámara se ve fácil muchos dirán que baja lento nooo , este man tiene un control en su bike que no todos tienen . ese terreno con raices y rocas no cualquiera controla muchos van y se matan jajaja pero Rémy es un ser de otro planeta
Yeah red clay in any type of wet is just absolute death. I kinda got used to it (I bring out the twitchy-electrified-chicken technique as needed nowadays) as I cut my teeth free riding a gorge with dirt very similar to that and its just so damn insane how little traction you get once you add a bit of H2O to the mix. Nice in the summer though, but I feel the loamy type pine forests are a lot nicer to ride in pretty much all weather. Sweet riding as usual :) Amazing spot too.
I swear I could smell your brake pads through the screen!!! Crazy how much skill you have, most riders would have tumbled down that mountain 10 meters from the top! I love how much confidence you have in your tires, are you running DHR/DHF or a different combo?
Sick video Remy, scary steep. Is there a way that you can link a speedo with the video, would be great to see how quick you get, as you know the camera does not show speed and terrain depth of field.

Remy´s cameraman must be great rider, everytime he w8 for Remy to come down :D
It only took him 4 hours:) Just kidding he shreds!
he doesn't have a cameraman, only his shadow can keep up with him :-)
Camera men are always the mvp. Any rider will tell ya, from Joe to Pro. Hahah. 🔥Awesome vid.
🤣🤣
wow really@@remymetailler
big props for sharing your difficulties and not editing them out Remy :)
Absolutely
Yeah these are the true contents we want to see and we enjoy them as well

You know that any average mtber would literally DIE ASAP on those trails lol
The most impressive part is hiking back up with your bike. Insane trail!
Merci!
Wow thank you so much!
standing at the top of the trail and knowing how steep this is, I find hard to believe you can go so fast and mostly in control!
While it’s wet to

He has a monster brain and body to analyze most trials ASAP@@bigbarrelbr
Merci de rester humble et de montrer que même les pro peuvent faire face à des défis! Good job🤘
I did a few laps around the high school running track today. I figure I’m pretty much ready to take this trail on.

You are my 'go to' guy for mountain bike videos. Love your tips and your work. Fantastic!!!
GoPro needs to RnD into “perspective mode” the steepest trail in the world still looks like something Jerry could ride after work! Good stuff 😎
i love how your videos are entertaining and you also teach good ways to go down. Love the vids
Remy is one of the best riders ever. Not just because of his amazing skill but because he is so humble!

Great Edit, and riding advise! Thanks!
Super intense and gnarly ... If remy says it's hard... I can't even comprehend what he's riding. Cool video 👍

Judging GoPro video and your speed on the bike, I can really imagine myself how this track is steep in real! Interest and cool as always, Remy! =)

amazing brake control mr Rémy, some sections are literally too steep and slicky to walk..
Wow... How nice Skill Big Fan, From mountian Nepal .🙌❤
Just unbelievable, fantastic.

Curious, what did you say at 15:24? UA-cam's subtitles/closed captions say "I think I had a rock stuck in my dink head at some point".

That's so Blown out and dusty 😬 Remy is A madman
Dead dog is a gnarly Trail for sure, It's steeper than it looks especially when you get into the trees

Wow 😮 How can you ride like that? Amazing ✨
Your video Yuka crashing in the corners was more fun, hahaha But Remy did awesome in this one
C'est tellement raide au début que ça donne le vertige! En tout cas bien joué mec!
You know that the guy is a good rider when he stops on each step and doesn't want to prove himself going straight into a dangerous trail
This is a great tutorial for people that wanna learn how to ride a bike
Epic ride! Really enjoyed this years video. Thanks for making rad content for the world to see! Fucking Awesome 👏🏼
I found myself gripping the floor with my toes while watching that super steep stuff.
