I'm really proud of the people in August town working hard to keep the youths on the right track. Continue the positive journey I know it's hard just don't give up.
@@leroysameul6377 how funny dat white boy can go inna dem ghetto, & nuttin no happen to him, but they destroy their own, if they go in their community, so sad how black ppl hate each other, but embrace strangers, he makes lots of money off those videos, & they don't even tax him fa all those information, but they tax each others, so sad
I am from August Town . I left there at 14 years old and now I am retired in the States. August Town has changed a lot but it is my home town and I still love it.
Chris, I am in awe of your genius to walk into these communities where you are told not to go and finding the right ambassador to show you around. This peace builder from August Town is a real gem. You can tell that he genuinely loves his community and was invested in helping to change the negative perception held by some outsiders. I wish him and his fellow elders who are peace builders continued success in their efforts. Again Chris, you are a genius in finding, connecting, and getting the good out of people you meet. BTW I am a Jamaican living abroad who went to the University nearby but never ventured down into August Town because of being warned. I did not have your courage. 😆

This guy Chris Must list is a real general, he went an actually walked the footsteps of my dream of visiting Jamaica and it’s inner areas. I love all things Jamaica music food people and it’s culture. Chris you gave me hours of entertainment also serious heartache touching on Jamaicas political plights but it was nice to see the people smiling and joking with you my friend. You deserve an award for humbleness and hope you get invited back to go see all the friends you made along you’re journey my g. Blessings from the UK 🇬🇧
Chris, I was born and lived between Hermitage and August Town (Manley Ave). From the 50's thu 80's I lived there. I used to go to Hope River almost everyday. In those days the schemes of Hermitage and August Town were beautiful and very quiet. Most weekends they would keep what we called 'Dance' in August Town without violence. I remember July Road and Brice Hill Rd. Anyhow, today the place looks totally different. Now it looks like what we called "run down.". Never there were any zinc fencing.....never. I was in the Jamaica Defence Force, and Tiviola Garden and Jungle were more warring areas. A lot of peoples from Jamaica just listened to what others said and never have the experience themselves. All cowards. Bless up!
Very interesting hearing about the young people being advised to be off the streets of august town however this gentleman ha been doing a good job for his community. Also Chris thanks for going to all these places in jamaica discovering lots of places enlightening us and the whole world . Chris its a very nice experiences going all these places may god bless you and all our people in jamaica so glad to see the lady introduced Chris to her drinks Eat What You Grow 🙏🏽🧚♂️🧚♂️ 👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is one of my favorite videos of Chris' trip to Jamaica. I am a senior citizen who was born close to August Town, and visited the area many times. However, I must say I was not aware of many of the places within August Town, nor the famous people who live there, first I am aware that's where Sizzla is from. Like most people who told you to stay away I was of that mindset. Thanks Chris, I thoroughly enjoyed that visit.
Chris u is the best I mean it for I am a Jamaican and places u go in Jamaica I dear to go there and it is impressive to see u all around Jamaica and every one gravitate to u and u have no fear u are real ❤❤❤❤u and u have such positivities 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏blessed up I wish u a safe flight back home to ur family .

Your series displayed exactly how loving the people in Jamaica are, for sure one of my close bucket lists because I feel a great connection to Jamaica!♥
When I was a child I use to spend holidays in August Town. Some of the happiest days of my life. 7 Manley Ave. Ms Cross banana flitters. UWI carnival with uncle George selling juice from the push cart. Down the river. Up a hermitage. Nice days!!!
It's so unfortunate how we tend to label our communities of color as being ghetto or bad places to go. Chris your whole adventure has open the eyes of so many of us who haven't, or would not have venture into these communities on what they have heard from going there. But you proved to us that good hearted and loving people are everywhere no matter the circumstances they are raised to live in.
Good night World. U may have heard of some gruesome things that have transpired in augusttown but let us all remember that this is happening all over the world as we spek, the heart of Man has become so evtl that bad out weighs good by far . If u are not in the space please dont comment on what u rhink is happening. Facts speaks for itself. If we use to be a community that just kill and destroy and has decided to move fwd in a positive way and dash weh the shootings and the killings whats wrong wth that. Augusttown right now is one of the bright light that shines in jamaica and throughout the World so dont hate on it or try to discredit it. Chris you did it and now everyone who haven't had a chance to visit places where they hear the crime is bad now can see these places from your view point. One thing I noticed about August town is the streets well clean without debris and trash
Chris I love what you do but I couldn't help noticing that you drove right past the University of the West Indies and didn't even mention or show it. You have to showcase both sides. That institution has educated many of our professionals who have migrated to the US and Canada. That area was a former sugar plantation, refugee, and prisoner of war camp. The town's name August denotes the month slavery was ended. Anyway, good luck in your travels and I hope you'll be back.🏝️🇯🇲
Tough to showcase an area that I know nothing about. I'm sure I missed many spots that should have been shown, although not on purpose. It's a lack my knowledge of the location. That being said, follow my footsteps and start a UA-cam channel and showcase as you please. I'm sure many would want to see. Remember I am only in a location for 2 hours, you are here for life. If you watch my channel you will see it's about the people and never about the buildings or what you can read in history books. Thanks for watching!

I think everyone knows that violence is a problem that is in August Town and most of Jamaica (and all over the world). You can watch the daily news and see 60 minutes of death, and destruction everyday. I'm tired of that. I am not saying these places are 100% safe, i'm just trying to find a positive side to areas most people won't travel. Thank you for watching! I need to listen to more Sizzla now.
I visited August Town sunday spent the day and left in the night, I enjoyed the reggae dub party in Judgement yard sunday's night,. I found the place using google map , I drove myself. I travelled solo to jamaica, this was my 4th visit solo. I Love judgement yard.
Augusttown yeah man I’ll visit when I go to the island actually looks like one of the chillest places I’ve seen on UA-cam Jamaican vlogs lovely people here groovy🙏

Excellent video Chris, you are a very courageous man. I use to have friends living in August Town in the 90’s and use to visit them, I was never afraid because nobody ever bothered us, we use to walk around freely. Thanks for highlighting these wonderful people and beautiful places. Big up uself Chris, love what you’re doing ❤❤❤❤

I think its best to admit there's a problem instead of denying or downplaying, calling something negative when its the truth. Too many are killed and communities and children traumatized. State of emergency is a heated topic, but it seems to be helping, for at the very least, give people a breather and time to cool off. These elders seem to be involved trying to guide the youth.
