This review is great! Very well articulated. I've only seen the film, which I found interesting and the highlight for sure was Bowie in the lead role. However it is one of my least favourite Nic Roeg films. I'd love to see more of these adaptation comparisons! Cheers 👍

Thank you very much!! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video and that you found my explanations to be clear. There was much I had to trim off but I'm happy to know I was able to get my points across. Bowie was certainly the highlight of the film for me too and now I'm interested in seeing his other roles. I've heard he was excellent in Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence. The only other Nicolas Roeg film I've seen was Don't Look Now but I'd like to go through his filmography, now that I've got more or less a taste of his style. Thanks again for watching! Much appreciated :)

I think you’re going to have to be a guest on my channel at some point for Page and Screen, where we read a book together, watch its adaptation and discuss the two on Zoom. 😎 Are you on Voxer?

That definitely sounds like something right up my alley!! 🙂 My schedule tends to be all over the place nowadays but if I’m able I’m interested. I’m not currently on Voxer but I could certainly join in the future.

I liked the book but the ending was kind of demonic the way he became blind. what do you think?
