Totally agree. CB650R is lightyears away from this new one. I actually didn't like anything more from Hornet than in my CB650R.

@@ridenm7748 - Don't know why people are especially bemoaning about the 160 rear tyre. The SV650 has a 160 tyre at the rear and that bike is absolutely beloved. Particularly for being a track bike too.
It has a conservative design, in line with the rest of the offer, as expected from Honda. It seems like a rational balance as we are used to, although sometimes it is not very appreciated by some. Personally I would prefer a 750cc inline 4 engine, but I suppose the real strengths of this new model can only be seen after driving it.
I’m okay with a thief being not interested or thinking it’s a 2014 Cb500f .....
So there is a CB650 Neo Sports Café that looks like the old Hornet with round headlights, then there is the New New Hornet that looks like the bit newer old Hornet? Am I right, yes? 😆
As much as I love Honda this bike is underwhelming. This is basically a CB500f with 750cc engine .
The Japanese KTM we’ve all been waiting for.

It’s not bad. I like the front of it more than my GSX-S750. I can’t say Ill replace it but it’s nice. Hopefully it’s not overpriced but It probably will be. Doesn’t have much personality tho, reminds me of the older Honda naked bikes from 2014 and the old GSR. But I like the 4 LEDS in the headlight. It really makes an otherwise boring shape into something nice.
I really hope they reintroduce the gsxs750 with fresh styling and lesser weight.
@@m.rraghav817 Agreed. Needs an update for sure. Granted, on the highway the weight is nice and it Accelerates pretty well despite it. I loved my lighter bike, but I havent had an issue with the GSXS outside of the parking lot 😂
I just hope they don't overdo it with the tech. Who needs all the rider aids? Traction control and Abs would be enough for me.

Look up the Transalp Spyshots. I'll bet that you'll be just as disappointed as I was. With BOTH bikes.
@@bennoq.47 I saw them and I was disappointed, so I bought a Tenere 700 instead a few weeks ago and I’m very happy with it. Just was seek and tired of waiting for the unicorn.

@@lensoprezole5322 let’s see with the reliability of this one. I agree it’s an awesome bike but the KTM are just unreliable as ****. I don’t want to search for parts and service in Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 or Tajikistan 🇹🇯 (my NC750X managed it easy there and I saw a few KTM and BMW which had to be evacuated)
Spyshots indicate it will get the same treatment. Dark times for Honda fans.
The appearance differs significantly from the patent video, but the front is acceptable.
It's not as bad as many are claiming. The front reminds me of the ducati hypermotard a bit. I think it looks fine. Anything crazy and far out, no, but looks good still.
Looks a lot like the CB650F that the 650R replaced. I like it!
I had a Honda Hornet from 2006... what a machine... I don't like the design of this new Hornet... but that's personal taste... probably we're stuck to the old design, and we, Hornet lovers we're expecting something different... has for the engine, I expected more HP... and a 4 cylinder one... but I'll not complain about the choice Hinda made, when the test drives arrive, I'll have the change to ride it and test it. Who knows, probably it's the right choice from Honda and at the end of the test, we all want to have one. One thing I admire in Honda it's not entering the HP propaganda and forget about everything else. Let's see in live.
Lol, fireblade 217 Hp. Hornet is 91 Hp in order to be available for A2 licence. Not a matter of hp propaganda like you said.

This probably hasn't gone down as well as they hoped. I just can't get over the Honda CB650F 2014 vibes from the side panels for the wings. Add the 2018 versions and above, maybe would look better, for me personally. Just looks so.... plain and basic for something that's been a rebirth of a classic.
looks bland and 'old'.Not vintage, just old. They do have some good designs, like the cb650/1000 line and Africa Twin. Also the Rebel.
It's unbelievable that they'd create a brand new engine, decide to revive a legendary name and then choose this 2010-looking turd to do it with.
Honestly, shows an incredible amount of tone-deafness on Honda's part. They've either done zero market research or they just don't have capable designers.
Looking at specs like tire size and the wheels/rotors, headlights... this is just a bigger displacement Cb500f... with leds and tft ...

Looks like a tasteful and mellow duke. I like it if it's not above 10k. Edit: Changed my mind. Honda cheaped out too much. MT07sp will reign supreme.

I'm surprised that people are complaining about this bike, of course it doesn't have the character of the 650 i4 engine , but compared to the Suzuki 650, Yamaha mt07, Kawasaki z650, and trident this bike is a whole lot of fun. I'm especially curious because the Engine has a 270 degree crank like the mt07 , bike will have a ton of character for a twin , I'm curious to see.

So the CB650R and 1000R is what one could expect a modern CB to be like. A modern, well thought out and beautiful design with great engines and recognisable heritage of the og superbike. And the CB750 looks like a revived 10 year old 500 with pointy plastic bits from the parts bin... It's going to be quickly outdated.
The current CB650 and 1000 can go on for a while with minor updates and the Hornet could have been a super agressive and edgy streetfighter instead of the luke warm glass of milk it became.
Honda needs an offensive super agressive streetfighter in shouty colours to fight of the KTM kids and a proper classic retro bike with all the chrome and needle dials. I love the Kawasaki Z900RS. It can't be improved! Can it Honda?

This is not a hornet. The CB650R is more like it. This is a beefed up CB500F that looks EXACTLY the same. If Honda hadn’t hyped up this release so much (and if didn’t call it a Hornet) it would be seen as a cool new bike. Not like this…
Also: 755cc is going to be a problem here in Portugal. Motorcycle annual tax jumps up for 751cc and above. So this is in the same tax bracket as a Triumph Rocket III

@@Mike-uk2oq I had a 2006 Hornet, with the round headlight. The last one, from 2007 onwards was uglier but still WAAAY better than this new bike. This looks like a CB500, it's bland and uninspiring. The CB650r is a much more beautiful bike.

tough question, is the cb650r not reliable? this 750 engine is new, the inline4 in the cb650 is super mature and well established.
jay : this is not a bike for riding in a straight road. And honda engines are very high quality. this engine has a high end coating on the cylinder : nickel-silicium-carbide. the same as the fireblade triple R. you can read the honda press release on the web.

It’s a new engine and cheaper platform- it will PROBABLY be reliable- but the chassis is not as good ( brakes , tire size)
