One of the great American performers. I saw him in concert in the late 1970's and what a performance he gave. He actually enjoyed himself and was great with the audience. A rare talent. Thanks for 50 years of Neil Sedaka.
Neil Sadaka is another great artist indeed. When the word music is these are the songs the old ones that are classics. The same with all the old songs even There's A Summer Place is wonderful by their respective artists. You don't find that kind of good music today.
On this day in 1975 {January 25th} Neil Sedaka performed "Laughter In The Rain" on the late Dick Clark's 'American Bandstand'... Three months earlier on October 19th, 1974 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and on February 1st it peaked at #1 {for 1 week} and spent 20 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #15 in the U.K. Was his first release on Elton John's "Rocket Record" label... R.I.P. Mr. Clark {1929 - 2012} and Mr. Sedaka turns 74 years old this coming March 13th...
This is way too cool! I love how he has his piano track recorded so he can walk with the mic and do the solo. And what kick ass piano piano track it is! Elton and Carol King would love it. His voice is magic.
This song can put a smile on my face and pick me up. It's one of my favorites of his. Of course, I can't forget "Love Will Keep Us Together". It's certainly a favorite also. Thanks for posting.
What memories of of our youth . I try to but her parents arrived at the proper time and I got out thru a window . Hormores where strong at that young age .
@citybirdbase If I'm not mistaken (and I often am...), Clay Aiken is working with the wonderful Phil Cody, who has worked with Neil many times over the years. It was Cody who wrote the lyrics to "Solitaire".
One of the saddest songs. A man who cannot show his feelings and comes across "indifferent" to the love of a woman who eventually lets the love die as she moves on. He though, doesn't recognize his own indifference and that life continues as he goes it alone because he's incapable of really showing a love he may or may not feel. Life repeats itself because he fails to see the problem is with HIM and not all his failed loves. A woman can only continue in a loveless relationship for so long. The "King of hearts" is always "well concealed" as he shows no heart even to someone who loves him and he may love back. And so it goes, over and over and he continues to deal out the same old deck and always loses. Story of my life.

THANK-YOU TORONTO,CANADA
Piano music comes from the tape, and I think that's Mr. Sedaka who has played that music. Of course it could be someone else, bue he's emulating Neil's playing style very well.
love neil sedaka if anyone out there would like to comment as to how similar jo mcederry's voice is to neil's i would be grateful as my family and friends think i am barmy.close your eyes listen and you will see what i mean
@Eltonizer Any time I hear someone say "true music", "real music", or variations on that theme, I know that person doesn't understand music. The only thing that exists is music, what you call "true music" is just another way of saying "music I enjoy". Anyway, I enjoy this tune, so we have at least one thing in common.
can anyone tell me how old is him now? when he first sang this song, i think i still a small kid or maybe havent exist i prefer old school song. simply the best. better than those stupid raper...

He must be 70, but he can still hit all the high notes. That's impressive.

neil sedaka is a great musician. he always create great melodies and his songs are of simple love stories or emotions but are conveyed with magic..
Neil Sedaka is Super ⭐⭐⭐ Show 😍💯
he is one of the best 4 pianists in the world. he's up there with elton john, billy joel and jerry lee lewis
He carries it away extremely well with just a piano. Induct this man into the R&R hall of fame.
One of the few performers that has kept his voice almost intact
I Think Sedaka´s style is the maximun. Great pianist,wonderful person....Congratulation Neilk¡¡¡¡¡¡
Couldn't of put it better myself. The greatness of this song is a perfect example of wonderful arrangement and composition
There are only two men in the world who can hit the high notes, flawlessly, in their senior years.
And they're both named NEIL.
Go figure.

Amazing! One piano, one man, great music. No dancers, no pyrotechnics, not laser; just one man and his music. Great work Neil.

he looks older, but his voice never changed.
Great clip! I really miss this type of upbeat, pleasant music on Top 40 radio these days.
This is way too cool! I love how he has his piano track recorded so he can walk with the mic and do the solo. And what kick ass piano piano track it is! Elton and Carol King would love it.
