Goodness what a gorgeous vehicle!!! Wild they used these are police pursuit vehicles. Obviously the interiors here were bottom of the line. Great ride sir!!
@@BrooXX856 The Dodge charger... Is showing something different....everybody and their favorite stripper has one of those things.... And that's exactly why I bought a 2014 Chevy SS... If they market it right I think a rear wheel drive V8 would have sold out here
quadir reed most charger sells are the V6 model. Us enthusiasts want them, but the common buyers wants something FWD/AWD, and with a V6 or four banger. I do see a lot of RWD cars in Vegas, but that’s only because snow isn’t an issue.
@@BrooXX856 yeah you're probably right.... I'm giving you my opinion from being up in northern California.... In Sacramento.... Shit we love our rear-wheel drives up here....lol
@@BrooXX856 not true. When chevy sold the SS there were zero options (except option for a spare tire or fixaflat kit), zero advertising (no one knew it was a thing), and held the last year models for over a year because of a seat belt issue. Can't sell something no one knows is for sale.
I got my first Aussie V8 in Dec last year as a weekend fun car but now I want a V8 for a daily driver too and I love the shape of the Caprice. It's on my wish list.
Looks great... roll the fenders down on the dogleg in the rear. That's where it's rubbing. After rolling fenders on 200+ cars, with that fitment you've got, that's where you're probably getting the most noise :) This car is beautiful! Fell in love with the long wheelbase Caprices while i was in Melbourne and Sydney.
Fancy seeing you here Ivan...stumbled across this as I am currently looking for a 14+ PPV. It'll take a princely sum to get the interior as nice as this one though.
Or he could just use the proper factory specified tyres which are not a 285 width for the caprice they are 245/35 R20 all the way around , and the HSV specs he was wrong about the tyres are supposed to be 275/30 on the rear and 245/35 on the front ! Those are factory specs and they make tyres and rims specific for a reason , even the HSV offset on that rim are not suited to the caprice , caprice all around have an offset of ET38 and the HSV have an offset of ET48 for front and ET 57 for the back it means the rims are out of specification for this car and would make the car unstable at high speed
Wow! This is the nicest Holden Caprice I have ever seen, but it is definitely too low. I was hoping you had air suspension installed where you could just move a level or press a button to raise and lower it as you choose which would prevent rubbing.
Escape. Force1 - the easiest way to get one in The States is to check a Police Auction, since the Holden Caprice was sold in USDM exclusively as the Chevy Caprice PPV (the Chevy SS was the shorter Commodore). Most were the regular version, but there was a rarer "Detective version", which didn't had (or doesn't need to be removed) certain specialized equipment. I do believe all US-spec Caprice were V8's (mostly the same 6.2L LS3 shown here, but with "only" 415 / 415 output". You can then modify it more or less (Australian or American-sourced, since these have US-made LS engines).
When I get my PPV in the states I’m going to need to find someone to ship me parts from Australia cause I want some of the stuff the ppv’s don’t come with in the states... awesome car
Parts are cheap here and the US dollar is a lot higher than the Aussie dollar. So you could have a really unique PPV in the states pretty cheap and easy!
I assume your on NewCaprice forum and FB pages? I just bought a grille /badge combo from Homart for my '11 PPV and it arrived in a week. It was cheaper than Holdenpartsusa who was sold out of their kit.
I have an April 2017 compliance WN Caprice V seriesII with the 6.2ltr LS3 motor. Only mod i've had done is an exhaust, long tube headers and 3" Genie exhaust. I am baffled as to why people lower these things, they ride beautifully with the stock suspension. Yours looks way too low and I'm guessing the ride would be horrendous on Perth roads, especially in the country! These cars are big & roomy, they look very classy, I absolutely love it, with one exception... The fuel consumption! Mine is averaging 14.4ltrs/100km around town. That does drop to around 11ltrs/100km in the country.
No. Holden closed down in 2017, so no more Australian Holdens of any kind. Fortunately, I got one of the last 2017 WN Caprice V seriesII with the 6.2ltr LS3. Beautiful vehicles. There are re-badged Opels being flogged off as Holdens. Personally, I wouldn't touch a fake Holden.
Hello sir I know you uploaded the video 2 years ago and today I saw it for the first time I've been in love with this car for a long time and I don't use any other kind of Caprice I want to ask you about how to export abroad. I want to buy one with the same specifications But the biggest problem is that I am in the Arab Gulf, specifically in the State of Kuwait, and in the Middle East it is forbidden and contrary to the laws that the steering wheel is on the right side and must be on the left side. Therefore, I would like to ask you, do you have a Caprice with the same specifications and the steering wheel is on the left side? I repeat my apologies to you, sir, if I caused you any inconvenience. Thank you
I believe they were sold in the Middle East as the Chevy caprice maybe able to export them from other local countries. But I looked up Chevy caprice Kuwait and was able to find a few things
Concerning the rub, you might look into getting your fenders rolled to get more clearance. My VE G8 had nasty rubbing until they were rolled. Eastwood sells a wheel well roller, or you might be a local shop that has them.
@@KLoNe1 That sucks! Holden made some awesome V8 cars! Too bad they're pretty much defunct now... Sad that they stopped making the Commodore/Caprice in 2017. Stupid move on Chevrolet/Holden's part!!
I own a wn 2015 caprice in Australia best thing I ever bought. Why GM didn't export this car to the U S is beyond me.They have closed GM Holden in Australia in2017 and about a month ago February 2020 they are totally withdrawing from Australia leaving there customers and dealers in the lurch. Regards Phil from aus
Phil Tuesley - the US-spec Caprice PPV's were (IIRC) all V8's, mostly the 415/415 NA-6.2L the SS (US version of the Commodore) had, but probably the Magnetic Dampers didn't make it to the option list of Caprice, as it did on the SS. There was also a Detective version that looked (didn't had to be installed some of the equipment the regular Police version had) more like a Civilian Aussie Caprice. Phil, I have the feeling GM is PREPARING TO BE SOLD in several years as they have become a way too small company to be kept independent (reason why PSA is still into buying FCA as a whole; they don't want to become easy target for M&A). GM is now "selling their Thai plant" that makes pickups and SUV's. And it doesn't need to be an existing auto maker, just have enough capital...
Put the original suspension back in it. They look and drive beautifully, Buddy of mine has Same Caprice and he lowered it. It is horrendous to ride in, bone jarring, teeth rattling horrible. Why, Why, Why.... Comfort over looks any day.

Lowered is terrible. Needs better shocks tho and adj sway bars front and rear. Then you can set the bars to your style of driving.
