Back in the day this sim brought my PC to its knees. I thought the graphics were beyond cutting edge at the time. As a VR DCS flyer is jawdropping to think how far the genre has come.
Flight sims have come a long way. The Jane's series was very ahead of their time :-D
One of the first sims to have a 3d clickable cockpit! It also had one of the best carrier ops simulations of any sim - it used to stack aircraft prior to calling you in for landing - I'm pretty sure DCS does not even do this!
To a technical level, this is the best game of the Jane's series. The downside is that it's a little tricky to install and play in modern hardware PCs.
Oh the memories! They keep flooding back every second of this video.
Definitely still worth to play to this day. Thanks for watching! :-D
This has to be one of the best flight sims ever, and a personal favorite of mine when I got it in high school. Thank you for sharing these.
It's my favorite from the whole Jane's series. Glad you enjoyed it. A true classic. thanks for watching :-D
I bought a 2000 Dell Dimension XPS T600r W98se and Jane's F/A-18 over twenty years ago. I'm still trying to find out how long this Dell will hold up (did upgrade hard drive, video card, and memory,; use same monitor as my 2012 Dell W10 desktop). Thanks for the videos.
That PC is useful for this type of retro sims. Thanks for watching :-D
External Sound ist to loud in relation to internal Sound!
Yes, it's really LOUD! but that's the original sound of the game. There's a MOD/Upgrade I read about eons ago that fix the external noise but I have to do my research.
How did you get this to work?
I'm working on a video about the way to make it work in modern PCs, It does not work a 100% but it's playable.
@@thejetfighter you rock, my disk is just collecting dust and want to give it a spin
