- After our mountain trek In Bukidnon, we made our way back to the coast, in Davao Oriental. I saw this man the day prior harvesting this white liquid from the coconut trees, I hunted him down the next morning to harvest this coconut wine together and to buy some from him!

As a person who grew up in Surigao now living in Manila, most people have not seen the true beauty of the Philippines. We have a whole lot more of these springs, falls and others. thank you for showcasing them on your channel.
super spiritual .. great connection withmother nature bret. happy for you!
Bret, it warms my heart to see you and watch your vlogs because it’s such a spiritual encounter, an experience in life that is most beautiful. I wish people would do the same, specially when nature plays its role. I love your story telling. Your content cuts deep. Not all gets it but I do. We’re in the same page in life. And it truly is a blessing to be in this place. My roots are from Manolo Fortich, my grandmas lineage is that of the Datus and Baes. In fact, before I left the Philippines, I was drawn into a magical world when the tribe officiated a ritual to give us, the descendants our titles as in my blood strongly runs my roots. So here I am, a Bae in Los Angeles, Bae Mangunguyag, the healer. It blows my mind that I haven’t been home for ages, and watching your vlogs just brings my love for my Bukidnon even fonder. My father, before we migrated to the US was a regional judge, meaning under his jurisdiction were provinces that part of the Philippines. Please keep on doing what you do. You are appreciated . Your soul exudes. That’s why I love watching your vlogs. Keep it up 🥰
This is beautiful, I agree with you, Bret is so eloquent when expressing his emotions on his videos, I am a big fan since he rescued and adopted Butter and brought her to Canada.
I love your bisaya bret maayo na kaayo and the your vlog is adventurous
This is the fastest 20 minutes of vlog ive watched Bret.
That just means, your vlogs are entertaining and very enjoyable that they just end so fast without noticing.
You're such a genuine person Bret, you know how to appreciate things anround no matter how simple they are, simple yet magnificent. Keep it up enjoy life as i always say.
So happy you enjoyed it 🎉 thanks for the kind words 🙏🏼
@Mau_Rence I agree. I felt the same way, too.

Hey,Bret...go to mama Rose, they have coconut trees near their house and mike is harvesting fresh tuba every morning which mama Rose process it into a coco sugar.
Wonderful shot of your drone, as far as I know this video is the first time for me to see that close up harvesting TUBA, Great job
I was craving for coconut water so I went to an Asian Market yesterday while visiting my son here in Burlingame. I bought young buko, and my goodness the water of.that coconut is good.and ate the meat of it. I don't like those coconut water from the cans, cause they're water down. Water straight from coconut is a lot better. One thing though, I never had tuba. I heard it when I was still living in the Philippines growing up, but, never tasted it. For one thing I was under age and another thing I think they only have it in the province, I think. I miss your dog butter!❤
A lot of the ones in the van have “natural sugar” beware. Huge scam, especially vita coco!
Ps: thank you for the support ❤
5:24 wow...Brett is Aquaman. Goes deep where Kulas can't reach! Kulas is Flash....he's quick to avoid deep waters.
Dang Bret I haven’t see your vids for a while and im amazed that the cinematography is so much better. Almost Daniel Marsh’ish level and the commentary Will Dasovich quality (good). Keep it up man.
A standing ovation for your unwavering commitment to excellence, my friend! Your videos are a testament to the hard work and perseverance you exhibit. And it's an honor to have you visit our channel, we can discuss more about our experiences in harvesting and building farms.
My late father was a manangiti and I used to drink that fresh harvest tuba without "tungog"...I miss my Papa with this vlog... Bret lingaw man jud ko sa imo vlog oi, always looking forward on your new upload vlog....keep uploading pls....God Bless

Bret really is an intelligent vlogger. And his bisaya is so natural can be considered a local. Nice one Bret I like that fresh tuba.
I am like your mum age Bret I live in Australia, I followed all your vlogs. Keep it up.
Put those fresh tuba in champagne bottles and seal it with a cork. Store it in a cool place or refrigerate. It will be bubbly like champagne, in fact you’ll have a champagne tuba stored for as long as you want assuming you sealed it from air properly.
By the way "bahal na tuba" (2/3days old) can be delicious if made into "kintutil" as we call it in bisaya, mix with fresh egg and tablea (cocoa). Whisk 2pcs egg, put it together with the melted tablea and mix with tuba. Oh my, i tell you it gives you a magic feeling after drinking it. But not to take it with empty stomach.
Yes!! I heard of this from Kumar.. I must try it hahah
Koter i think is the other term for this
Back in Spanish colonial days, some Filipino crew of the Galleon ships settled in Acapulco, Mexico and taught the locals how to harvest Coconut sap and Tuba making. The process was instrumental in the development of Mexico's Tequila and Mezcal drinks!

Coconut Wine or Tuba is a sweet, fresh or mildly fermented sap taken from tapping the young expanded flowers of the coconut. It is popularly known locally as “Jungle wine,” it is also called coconut toddy. It is the most popular and most pride native wine in Bohol, Leyte and Samar. In every celebration Bol-anon, Leytenos, Cebuanos and Samarnons can’t be celebrating without tuba.
This organic wine is most affordable for everyone who wish to buy a drink. Once it gets into your veins, it would warmly awaken your timid blood, but surprisingly is much better than any alcoholic beverages for you won’t wake up with a heavy head or hang over.
Coconut wine or Tuba is naturally made from the sap of a young coconut bud. Like the coconut which is named as “The Tree of Life,” the tuba also has some medicinal uses or health benefits.
Coconut wine or Tuba or most commonly known as “Bahalina” in Leyte is referred to as a poor man’s drink because of its inexpensive distillation process and is a more accessible alcoholic drink that the local people enjoy. This doesn’t mean that the “Bahalina” is a poor quality alcoholic drink. It is an organic alcoholic drink that has no chemicals added, just Barok, a mangrove bark which is known for its medicinal properties and coconut sap that also has high medicinal properties.
Drinking tuba is surprisingly good for the health. Just make sure to drink it moderately.
Here are some known health benefits of Coconut wine or Tuba:
1, Promotes Longevity.
Coconut wine drinkers are observed to have a 34 percent lower mortality rate than beer drinkers.
2, Reduces Heart Attack Risk.
Moderate coconut wine drinkers who suffer high blood pressure are 30 percent less likely to experience heart attacks than non-tuba-drinkers.
3, Lowers Risk of Heart Disease.
Red wine tannins contain procyanidins, compounds commonly found in red wines which are good for the blood vessels and protect against heart disease.
4, Reduces Risk of Type 2 Diabetes.
Compared to non-drinkers, moderate coconut wine drinkers are 30 percent less likely to develop type 2 diabetes. Lowers risk of stroke. People who consume moderate amount of alcohol are likely to experience of about 50 percent possibility drop from suffering a blood-clot related stroke.
5, Cuts Risk of Cataracts.
Moderate coconut wine drinkers are less likely to get cataracts than nondrinkers while those who consume wine are 43 percent less likely to develop cataracts than those mainly drinking beer.
6, Cuts Risk of Colon Cancer.
Moderate wine consumption cuts the risk of colon cancer by 45 percent.
7, Slows Brain Decline.
Brain functions dramatically decline on nondrinkers than on moderate wine drinkers.

Your video is like watching a movie. The sound and the way you film it oh my Gosh, it's a talent . Good job Brett 🎉
dude when you dive deeper into the log and your camera is facing towards you its trippy, its like looking through the mirror while on psychs.
You could also try Kinutil.. Tuba+Tabliya+Egg yolks. 👌
Definitely healthy! If you boil that, what's left becomes coconut sugar that doctprs recommend for diabetics as it has the lowest glucose index and is one of our exports and is pricey bought at the supermaekets.
I need to try this
Tuba is a good source of probiotics and improving digestion boosting immunity ❤❤❤

You're absolutely right Bret. Pretty much all of Southeast Asia has a coconut culture. It's all part of the indigenous culture. Every region adapts slightly differently.
Saw a video on youtube from Cambodia and they are harvesting sap from a buripalm using its young leaves also there is a palm here in the phil called akong they also harvest its sap and they call it idyok nila palm is also used to make sap out of its flowers and ilocanos call it I think basi

it said by the health organizatiin that it promotes a stronger immune system, and a healthier and a good source of probiotics because of the way it was fermented. The probiotics in this drink help in the absorption of nourishment. I is said that Tuba wine has antimicrobial and antibiotic properties.

You should also try the juice/nectar from the tree where you park your motorcycle before going to swim. That giant like anahaw tree also has juice called “GUHANG” in our language. You should try that too “GUHANG TUBA” i just forgot the name of the tree, it’s in your vlog now the tree while you’re doing your drone before going to swim. Hope somebody will help me name the tree. We enjoyed your vlog BrettyBoy.❣️❤️😅
I think you're going to have a good nite sleep soon, real soon. Hope you just had some solid food.
It is amazing how this method of extracting and fermenting tuba is still old school. My respect to tatay Robert and all the Manangite, for them, this is a job. Thank you.
That was a nice drone shot btw. As always very good content bret
The whole process of making Tuba is nothing short of Amazing.
Kudos to tatay who did all that up there!!!!!
And judging Bret’s reaction, it was perfection!!!❤❤❤
Brettyboy! You just nailed the normal detoxifier, hahaha! In Basilan, we never had in the fridge for that reason, leave it for a few more days and it will be perfect alcohol replacement(all natural) - BAHAL!. Dude, love you videos, perfect cinematic sound!💗
Thank you my dude!!!’ 🎉
After 6-7 hours the sweet taste will gradually gone
That tuba should be one of the healthiest drink around. No additives, no preservatives, no yeast. Just pure, natural drink from probably the most versatile tree on earth.

The bamboo container like a tube where the MANANGGITE puts his harvest tuba is called “SUGONG” in our dialect. Happy harvest time of tuba without the orange coloring made from the mangrove trees i guess 🤔🤔called TUNGOG. Pure tuba without the tungog is much tastier than the one that’s orange color which is a little bit APLOD. Enjoy your tuba nga TAM-is [sweet] Bretty Gang.❣️❤️❣️

Hi Bret thank you for another vlog we miss you...u are my favorite blogger ever
In our country, the Philippines, COCONUT is known as the TREE OF LIFE. From food to fuel to shelter. Every parts of it is vital to living.
It's called the Tree of Life all around the world, not just in the Philippines.
You are already Filipino, it seems you like our food than most of Filipinos.
Bro, I've been a subscriber of yours from the very beginning. Your quality of story-telling and editing have immensely grown. It really is fascinating. Congrats on the 400K subs, man!
Good job Bret. WATCHING IN BRISBANE AUSTRALIA ❤❤❤
i like it when everytime u said "Indigenous peoples"to native people of the philippines is very respecfull
The natural acidity of tuba helps you boost digestion and immunity. Also because it helps you process food efficiently you also have increased Calories burned, it pretty good with fat burning that it also reduces risk of heart attacks.
When it comes to immunity, it in itself has antimicrobial and antibiotic properties, helps prevents illness and diseases.
Your video never disappoints. So poetic. I enjoy your narration. Keep em coming Bret! U have a gift of storytelling!❤
Yayyy, caught another one! 😂 That was so interesting! I've only ever had tuba once, and never knew it came from that part of the tree! 😮 sooo cool!
Like I said in the chat, your Filipino (Tagalog, Bisaya, etc) pronunciations are on point! You're a natural! You embrace Filipino culture so well. Your vlogs make us appreciate the Ph more. We're seeing things we've taken for granted with fresh Canadian eyes but a Filipino heart. ❤

God bless the manangite, God bless you with strength manong.❤❤❤
"Tatay has balls of Steel" 😂 dang son😂
We usually put it in the fridge and it seems that cooling it in the fridge improve its taste
Tuba is best inside the fridge, NOT Freezer, right, Renzi? I heard FREEZING alcohol or liquor changes its chemical makeup "forever." ... How is it best served? Cool inside the refrigerator, OR keep in room temp but served with ice? Curious minds want to know. 🤔🤪
I think you’re both right! I put it in the freezer.. it changed completely.
If you put it over ice ruins its taste because you’re diluting it with water so I think it is better served cold from the fridge
DUDE THAT IS THE HEALTHIEST BREW WORLD WIDE NOTHING CAN BE COMPARED
New harvest of coconut wine is sweet 👍❤😂
That’s what I like about your vlog Bret, you always include things that most people doesn’t know, the origin of any drink that is so pure in taste, that coconut juice is really good to cleanse your internal system especially if you’re having urinary tract infection, your solidarity with nature seemed to be the best experience in life. Thanks for sharing❤️
the carbonated tuba is insane man. all natural.
Manong Robert is a legend! So strong and somehow fearless! How he was seating on the coconut branches amazed me! Bret thank you for sharing another true gems of the Philippines! ❤
It is claimed to offer a range of health benefits, counting weight loss, progressed absorption, a stronger immune system, and a healthier heart. Because of the fermentation process that takes place after collecting, tuba may be a good source of probiotics. shout out from Christchurch New Zealand
5:00 you're a great diver Brett! Maybe you can utilize this talent to be able to live here in the Philippines permanently. Finn takes photos of underwater creatures I'm sure you'll love that too and will do great on that field.
Your place is extremely beautiful the nature is amazing
I'm a bartender try to mix it with Malibu rum and I promise you it would taste like out of this world and that is one of the best native drinks in this country..
Coconut Trees are nicknamed as the "Tree of Life" because all parts of that tree are used in various parts of a house, food, etc. Its leaves are used for a roof. Coconut fruit's husk is used for shining wooden floors. Coconut fruit's shell is used for charcoal. Coconut meat for various foods whether it is for sud-an or drinks (coconut milk). Coconut wood lumber for various foundations in a house. And so much more... And the coconut water is Isotonic, which means it is good for hydration.
Addendum: Tuba/Coconut Wine also has antimicrobial and antibiotic properties.
quality vlog grabe! underrated vlogger.. more people should watch you Bret.
Amazing drone shot 😁👌
Yeah you're right, it's addictively delicious, and it's drinkable right after you've harvested it, but drink it while it's fresh, because the longer it's fermented the sour it gets, infact you don't have anything to put to make a vinegar out of it, just leave it unattended for 3 to 5 days it becomes vinegar, the more time the more it becomes sour! 😉😉👌
I Love it More if its cold!! After harvesting, place it inside the Ref !!! Soooooo Ymmny jud!!! As in !! Nothing perfect then a Cold, Pure, Unadulterated Organic Fresh Coconut Wine!! 🥂🍸
You should try kinutil - 1 glass of newly harvested tuba without the tungog (the Orange coloured tuba has tungog in it. Tungog comes from the shaved dried bark of a specific mangrove tree called tungog. Tungog also gives tuba it's somewhat bitter taste. ) plus tableya sikwate + 1 native chicken egg. Mix all together and you'll have one of nature's best energy drink. Kinutil is also used as a food supplement for convalescing patients. On another note, any plans to feature butter beanz in 1 of your future vlogs?
If not done properly you'll get a runny popo....😂
@@soljakol adulterated tuba will cause runny poop, whether it's kinutil or just the tuba itself.
Kinutil is yummier if tableya is added 😋
That scenery when you deep dive into that blue lagoon and the reflection above is like panoramic view....love it
Love the under water shot and the vibes of your video is like a personal journey 🙏🏻 more pls
I don’t drink wine, but my first time to try when I went home,at first I was hesitant to drink,I thought I might get drunk,my brother let me try the fresh tuba, not fermented,I love it,I think it will become a tradition to drink fresh tube whenever I will go home.
