I love Hera and Ezra’s reunion because all the New Republic troopers behind her look like “Ah cool it’s Ezra” but then they realize how he got there and it changes to “Oh f#*k it’s Ezra.”
Filoni walked a perfect balance of introducing the deep lore to the new canon without going too crazy to scare off newer fans. Absolutely fantastic season 1, hyped for whatever comes next

Eh show was ok. It felt like a long Rebels episode. Not sure why they name a show of a character that doesn’t even feel like the main character.

@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord Personally Ahsoka wasnt giving me the vibe that she was fazed by what Thrawn said, more puzzled by Thrawn.
Many have commented that Thrawn is waging psychological warfare here and while that may be a small part of it, I think people tend to not know or forget that Thrawn isnt some maniacal evil incarnate like Palpatine but someone with quite understandable & justifiable aims. Someone who has a sense of honor and genuine care for those subordinated to him, for whom the ends not always justify the means, who has gone out of his way to avoid civilian casualties on multiple occasions and who is genuinely curious and respectful of his adversaries. He comes across cold, ruthless and uncaring but he really isnt, at least if he is anything like in the books.
I think to all his formal pleasantries there is a genuine element. I think he is genuinely at some level delighted to see Sabine Wren and to the same degree he means it when he says that Ahsoka was a worthy adversary and that there is a part of him that is sad not having met her face to face. I think that part of what he is saying here is that he wonders how powerful and good of a Jedi she will become compared to her master and that he - again sadly - likely wont witness any of it.
I like to think that Ahsoka actually felt some of this genuine wonder and respect and was taken aback by it, maybe realizing in that moment for the first time that Thrawn is more than just the average imperial tyrannical commander (Remember: this is the first time these two met).

The literally show your were talking shows him to be not that smart are a liar and a guy that sacrifices his troops for literally no reason. Stop using comic book Thrawn that is an entirely different character.

I thought it was hella cheesy until I remembered the titles for Ashoka’s ‘she’s been framed’ story arc in Clone Wars. They riffed off Hitchcock movie titles. So, appropriate.
This episode 8 of Ahsoka had me wanting more. I read season 2 of Ahsoka was already being filmed, before the actor's strike. What percentage they finished, I don't know. Baylan's character will return in season 2. So much to examine in this finale!

PLEASE watch more Ray Stevenson in the wonderful HBO Original, "Rome" from the early 2000s. It only has two (or three?) seasons of ten episodes, because they sadly didn't have their GoT fandom yet and "Rome" was hella expensive for that time, but I was a HUGE fan of Ray for that show. One of the best early HBO characters.

This series was really one of Star Wars best! The Mandalorian, Ahsoka and Andor or flip Andor or Ahsoka. This season has everything! Hera, chopper and Ezra reunited!!

im guessing the two Night Death Troopers (black armour) might have been some of the first resurrected before, the one attacking Sabine looked quite rotted under his armour, so maybe those two were the last of the first batch risen and then these other guys. I have to admit i actually respect those Stormtroopers since they volunteered and knew what was going to happen, they did their duty.

Maybe Anakin talk leia and Luke about real mother but I don't know when
I hope Ray's tragic death doesn't derail Feloni's plans. I feel like the second series would have been Ahsoka and Sabine tracking down Balin (probably being slowed down by Shin along the way) and maybe using some ancient Jedi/Sith site that he had found to get home. While at the same time Thrawn takes command of the Imperial Remnant and gets organised to attack the New Republic. With all this manoeuvring building the groundwork for the Feloni film being a big battle between the New Republic and the Empire with the Mandalorian(s) also joining the party. You'd think Luke, Leia and Han would also have to be involved in a big battle like that, but I'd want them recast rather than body doubles/CGI, if they were to appear in the film. If nothing else, that allows us some future series following their further adventures.
I feel like they could do Baylan justice with the use of an on-set double and CGI, on the condition he has become something ‘other’ through the power of the Mortis Gods. A real and talented voice actor though, not AI.
I don’t feel it’s appropriate to fully CGI a distinctly human looking character when the actor has recently passed.
The whole time we are on peridea is because thrawn is moving the cargo into the chimera, but why not just have them on the chimera from the get go? Did I miss something in a previous episode?
The whole series is shit 🤦🏽♂️. Why does Sabine struggle to lift her lighsaber from the ground but can just throw ezra onto the stardestroyer. Now Ashoka an Sabine are stuck in another galaxy instead of ezra, what a kind of stupid plot. Complete waste of time. Nothing got revealed either.

Perfect center stage for thrawns return. Ezra doing Ezra things as usual. And Ashoka and Sabine finally get time to train. Either the next season, or directly the empire resurgence war movie would be an ideal follow up to this with a small time skip. Sabine returning as a trained jedi knight and also a mandalorian would also stir up claim for bo katans throne as well. I'm glad that the tv series will converge into one big finale of a movie soon. Even though some episodes of tv shows were meh, but the cumulative result of all the stories converging would infact be epic. And in a way, the false jedi plotline fits so well in terms of conclusion for shin and baylan, because shin wanted power, and she will start her own thing in another galaxy as a warlord. Baylan just wanted to escape and find the mysterious nature of the force. I'm starting to think he'd become one with the force given his objective was to never get involved in the fight between the republic and the empire.
They saved Ezra's meeting with Jacen for the second season, that's why the meeting with Hera was so quick. I imagine Ezra will train Kanan Jarrus' son with Hera Syndulla to be a Jedi.

This was not the finally I expected, but it felt very Rebels. The scene at the end with Ezra and Hera made me cry! I wish there would have been more Balen Skoll in this episode! Can’t wait for season 2!!

I call back to an animated short from Forces of Destiny, where Yoda teaches Ahsoka in the dojo where she's learning to use two sabers. "Learn, you should, from your master" Yoda says... Filoni learning from George. "But take what you learn, and make it your own, you must." Yoda says... Filoni making Star Wars his own via his collective works within Star Wars, which is why we have the Ahsoka series now.

Hello guys👋🏻. So Baylan will be the Father and Ahsoka the Mather. Is Thrawn the one who start the First Order? Are the Witches the one who bring back Palpatine? And why Thrawn is never mentioned in the new trilogy?
I think that ever since Ahsoka and HuYang arrived at the planet, he was able to somehow record the coordinates and the new path to that planet from their galaxy. My understand is the first time you calculate a lightyear path through the galaxy from 1 point to another, you can always traverse that same path again whenever you want, can't you? Also, isn't that new path then uploaded to some master nav computer somewhere just like our version of the Cloud (or something like that) so other ships now can download and use that same way too now? Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that was the case reading about that somehwere. Either that or right before Ezra departed Thrawn's Star Destroyer, he was able to somehow download the path coordinates. So, by next season either Hera will be able to fly to Ahsoka or Ahsoka, HuYang and Sabine will be able to fly back to their galaxy. I am actually salivating at the prospect we could (or at least I hope) see Sabine meet Mando and Grogu.
Well that doesnt really make sense unless hera gets her own huge hyperspace ring. Its not like normal ships can make that jump and ahsoka and sabine def arent going to find a randomly discarded hyperspace ring
@@danno1375 It was not really explained on the show, but my understanding has always been, the hyperspace ring was not to make the jump to the other galaxy, but so the Star Destroyer could be brought back with them and everybody could return together. Hyperspace rings were used because some ships did not have their own hyperdrive. Hyperspace rings were used by some ships to traverse points in the same galaxy. It was not about the destination but how to make the jump. Those ships could still plot a course but had no hyprerdrive to jump to it., For all we know and makes sense it might be this way (I cannot remember all the details of that Rebels finale), is that the Star Destroyer's hyperdrive was likely damaged in the final battle in Rebels by the Purrgils. In fact, I very vaguely remember in that finale Thrawn wanting them to make the jump to try to escape, but could not due to a damaged hyperdrive, but I could be remembering wrong. I do not recall it ever really being said the problem was jumping to another galaxy. There was no reason Ahsoka's ship could've probably not have made that jump, but the problem was not knowing or plotting the coordinates for the jump. Once you plot the course once and traveled it, you can do it again (& other ships too) because the route has been used once before, as far as stuff I read.
I do not think there would be a difference between jumping from 1 point to another in the same galaxy vs jumping from 1 galaxy to another. The concept should be the same. The only difference would be length of time and more uncertainty on what may be in the way. It is just you do not know the coordinates so you can plot the safest jump path without running into a planet or star. You can always just do a calculated risk of jumping without first taking the time to plot the safest jump path, and Han and Hera have both done that in the past, but usually it is for short distances and is well-known to be highly riisky and dangerous since you do not really know where you may end up or even be killed, which is why they were both known as being great pilots but also risky. But, for them, it was also a calculated risk based on their experience and skill level as a pilot.
@@hanziggy6862 well considering the death star itself only had one hyperdrive and was a much bigger vessel than the chimera, it brings about the question of why the eye of sion needed 7 SSD hyperdrive cores to make the journey to another galaxy to bring back a ship tiny compared to the death star, the natural conclusion is that travelling between galaxies requires a hell of a lot more power than a single ship like the ghost or ahsokas t6 could possibly have.
@@danno1375 Those are good points and I honestly just do not know. It is beyond me. LOL, I think there comes a point where we may just have to throw our hands up in the air and go, "it looks cool and makes somewhat decent sense, so I buy it". But at the end of the day, they very well just be making stuff up on the fly and explain later. That is what they did with a bunch of other stuff too. Lucas was not a science whiz or engineer, as far as I know. Heck, even keeping the new Disney Star Wars canon straight now is getting hard enough and not contradicting themselves and so, they just retcon later or just decide subjectively what is no longer canon and they make something else more canon, LOL! :)
All I know is the Death Star had multiple ion drives and a series of 123 hyperdrive field generators when linked together could probably jump it into hyperspace and a hypermatter reactor, but I do not know how long it would take to get from 1 point to the other. But, unless they actually explain it on the show and spell it out for us, it seems reasonable to me that hyperspace ring was just that to fit the size of the Star Destroyer and to jump quickly enough. For all I know, the Ghost could make that jump, BUT would just take much longer to get there like even weeks or months more. We are not really ever told every single time a ship goes through hyperspace specifically how long it took them other than a general time frame. Heck, it seemed those Purrgils still took a lot more time to get to that other galaxy and Ahsoka was still out there for quite a while.

@@katv1195 Anakin was the balance, not Baylan. Baylan is either being called by the Son or the Mother. He's running the "fools' errand" and doesn't even know it.
When Ashoka, Sabine and Ezra first faced the Night troopers, two things came to mind
- Ashoka's lessons against Clones
- Kinda looks like the Order 66 fights in the Jedi Temple

I believe that Ahsoka haven't reach the state she needed to communicate with Anakin force ghost just like Qui Gon said to Obi wan, he's always there but it's just Obi Wan need to work on it to make it happen.

@@soule1337 Not that he's been anywhere near as iconic as Chadwick, but it just doesn't feel right for me in the same way. It's why Star Wars keeps de-aging instead of recasting, we rarely recast. But it just feels disrespectful when someone dies out of anything but old age.
I would be open to it though. His story was so captivating. But maybe Shin can carry the torch.

The difference for me is that black panther had already had completed story. Yes obviously you could have told more stories with that character but the story he already had, had a nice end point. Baylan on the other hand is still in the middle of his story and I don’t think anyone involved (including Ray) wanted that story to remain unfinished. Therefore I think recasting is the only way to respect Ray’s dedication to this performance.

I could be wrong, but I feel there is a possibility that this isn't the last we've seen of Ray as Baylon. I heard somewhere that there is a rumour or leak that Skeleton Crew is set in this new Galaxy. They completed filming for it in January, and Ray passed away in May. So there is a possibility he could have filmed something before his passing. They clearly have more plans for him, I'm pretty sure they've confirmed that SC will connect somehow to the Filoni movie, so could it be that Baylon and Ahsoka make an appearance in SC?? I dunno, it's clear they have more plans for him, it's just hard trying to figure it out now that Ray is sadly no longer with us. 😞 He was such an amazing edition to the Star Wars universe.
I can't wait to see Ezra meet Jacen.
