I'm not too sure what a full game version of Baldi's Basics would be like, but I'm okay with the developer trying. As Manly said, the original version is very popular and it's not wrong of the dev to try and make some money for their efforts.

You summed up what i was going to say at the end... the creator isn't sure what it got successful in the first place but is rolling with it because eh why not.
Also you forgot to walk on a bear trap just to see what it does.

The dev is just using this as an excuse for making money.
The game sucks and it's supposed to suck but this is just abusing the fame.

I think a longer Baldi would get exhausting so fad or not I see his future game as doomed to fail, but eh, if people want it people want it, he would be a fool not to try. Might be the chance of his life.
If it was just for money he could go the easy route and make an "enhanced" version for Steam that would add little and sell for $2-5. Now that would be milking the cow. Here it looks more like a blind attempt at turning a game jam into a career.

Im not saying trash cant be entertaining. but this is trash that over stepped its bounds. theres hundreds of games like this out there if you know where to look but the popularity of this one has skyrocketed because of the big lets players out there finally coming across it way after it came out. The major problem now is hes asking for money. You may not be old enough to contribute to it yet, but kickstarter is a gamble where the people getting the money can just run.

I love your work, Manly. I basically get all my rpgmaker horror news from you, but I've just now realized you've never played Desert Nightmare. It's a German game translated into English, and I really think you'd like it. It's sorta like an angsty teenage version of Mad Father, except you have to escape instead of finding your dad. The reason I compare it to Mad Father is that the town you find yourself in has a bunch of strange things going on. As you desperately try to escape, you also start to learn more about where this town came from and why it's so messed up. It's like Gravity Falls but less family friendly, I guess.
Schuld is also good, but that's less horror and more of a purgatory-dystopia type of discomfort. Schuld reminds me more of Angels of Death, at least with its theming. (Except there's no true "bad guys" in Schuld that try to impede your progress. It's all symbolic.)
Also, I just had to mention "Thank you. I am a wow." is probably my favorite thing from this video.

big nut Yeah, the games self aware but that was the main reason why I thought the creator wouldn't throw a bunch of nonsense lore and secrets into the game like Fnaf did once it got extremely popular. The fact that it's a Kickstarter too is also kind of a red flag for me.
The original was free, the creator is just wondering if people would want a longer experience with this kind of game

He’s overdoing it. The first game was good and left a nice pleasing legacy. These extra games will be too much and leave people with a sour taste in their mouths.
Sponge I'd think it'd work better if it was pitched as a compilation of shitty edutainment games *like* Baldi, but with different gameplay elements and characters. For example, instead of an edutainment math game that turns into a slender-like game, you, say, have a geography game turned first-person role playing game, with its own vaguely creepy yet ambiguous content.
Just using Baldi over and over just kinda cheapens the origional game.
It looks fun.

Toby Fox is a literal millionaire from Undertale now so he has no real reason to "milk" it. Which is why he hasn't updated the game since Gaster, and took a full year to port it to PS4.
Franky Frost Also, I think he considers Undertale to be his baby and wouldn't willingly milk it, even if he needed more money. I remember that post he made when data miners leaked pretty much all the game's secrets before he planned on them getting out, you could just feel the disappointment oozing from it.
Yeah, it's a shame there's no secrets in video games anymore. My only problem with Toby never updating Undertale is that he never released the boss fight with his "Dogsona" that he promised, and hard mode never amounted to anything.
There was also another demo, right? I read the Kickstarter page and it said that there was one in addition to this. I don't know about everybody else, but I'd like to see that.

We aren't "going fnaf" the creator just wants to make the game a fuller better and more polished experience, and by polished I don't mean taking away the aesthetic of the game I mean making the game feel more like an edutainment game with a lot more features.

They're claiming this is a small in itself version of a minigame one of many that would occur between "chapters" of the main game and your performance in the mini game would grant bonuses with other levels. The main game itself is supposed to be more dynamic and have mix up making it less predictable on top of having randomized factors so every run isn't the same.

Where's the math? Original baldi stuck to a lot of people because of its relatability, however surreal, to people who finds math difficult and intimidating. This camping theme just doesn't have the same click to it
