I am subscribed to a number of Canadian, US & Bennet's Custom in Australia & I follow you all with enthusiasm. The seemingly common thread that I see woven here is that there seem to be no real shortage of Model T & A projects, as well as a surprising number of 1932 models followed by 1934 models & upward. But nobody seems to have a 1933 Ford, either as a finished car, a beater, a future project, or as a parts pile. To my mind, this makes the Model 40 [1933 Ford] more rare than even the scarce 1932 Ford three window coupe as both Iron Trap & yourselves have one each, plus extra parts. There was another where you picked up your body shell, seemingly in much better shape also. Ford sold about 22,000 3w's in '32. !933 Ford sales were better than 1932, so where are all the 1933 Fords? Tons of '34's around, but no '33's. I'm stunned.
What I was told, by some old timers, was that, back in the day, everyone preferred the straight bars of the 1934 grilles, and the straight louvers of the 1934 hood side panels, plus the dual hood latch handles. Most 1933 Fords had their grilles, and hoods scrapped, and replaced with ones of a 1934 Ford.
@@davidperry4738 I'm not a Ford bloke, but after more than 55 years in Hot Rodding & Restoring, I know my way around them fairly well. [I'm a '32 & '33 Dodge man] I have always had a fondness for the more elegant & refined style of the 1933 Ford front clip over the more clunky '34 design, but then, I've always been swimming against the flow. Putting a full 1934 bonnet/hood on a '33 is not straightforward as the '33 has a hook on the side of the cowl for the latching mechanism while, from memory, the '34 has a hole for the rear latch to hook into. Running with top panels only presents no real problem.
@@jonathanbrogdon9067 If you live in the US, [I don't] then there are more of them there than anywhere else in the world. It just takes money. Have the funds behind you & develop a network of hot rod & restorers & you should have the car, or pile of parts, of your dreams. It just takes money.

I been looking for a 33 or 34 ford for years now in tn with no luck
I have a 33 5w coupe. It features in some of my videos and can be seen in the background of many others. Mart from Mart's Garage in England.

1934 hood tops have a black original paint underneath. Maybe they just removed the paint from outside and those tops match the nice hood sides?
Well the other sides seems to have paint match on the outside. 🙂
Yeah I know the red hood sides are primates right over the paint so I’m going to try and get it off without ruining the paint u beneath
Original Ford stock. Jackpot !
