G’day Lance good to see you mate, there’s more in the housing than I thought but it’s clean as a whistle inside it. Have you ever though of putting an overhead electric crane in you have the room, it’s just when I watched you lift that trumpet housing back on I couldn’t help thinking of your spine and your not getting any younger, be careful mate talk to you soon. By the way I have to go back into hospital on the first, the left new knee has something wrong with it and it’s very painful. Great watching the two videos plus the stew. John

G Day John, That knee doesnt sound too good, probably find the surgeons shifting spanner in there still. I hope they sort it for you sooner rather than later, it has been a while now.

Love your videos, they are very helpful. I like the way you explain things step-by-step step. I have a Massey Ferguson 135 Petrol, can you get the accelator, above the brake on a petrol model?

You can fit a MF135 foot throttle but you need a spacer and quite a bit of fiddling with linkages but it can be done.

Is it true that the diff lock can fall down when you pull the drive shaft out?
Some say it can, others say not on all versions.
It seems that by tying the diff lock pedal down you can prevent this from happening in any case.

Yes tie the diff lock down but I can seem to get them to line up easily enough with out but to be safe it doesnt take much to tie them.

Right on, could the right hand axle go in to hold the diff lock in place, or would that cause more harm than good. Great series.

Yes I think it could for sure, it stays put usually though

Hi a have a Massey Ferguson 35x and I use it as my main small tractor. It works great despite being almost 60 years old. Yesterday the right side lower link pin broke. So I bought a new one for the 35x and also a new trumpet gasket. I want to ask this. What’s the torque spec for the trumpet bolts and for the pin?? Do I need an impact wrench to do the job or can i use a torque wrench???

By pulling the left side you can get access to both pins if needed but if you are only doing the right dropping the rh is fine. I dont do special tensions on those parts I just make sure they are tight. I would suggest 100ft lb on the big pin, 75 with 1/2" bolts on the trumpets and if it is an early one with 7/16 bolts I would go around 50 ft/lb.

Thanks for this video series it has helped me a lot fixing up my MF 245 and I have enjoyed watching. I do have a question maybe you can answer. My clutch works fine for shifting gears but it won’t disengage the PTO. Is there a place to adjust the clutch for more engagement without splitting the tractor or do I need to just split the tractor and get a new clutch installed?

Yes and you can adjust the PTO from underneath, have a look at the multipower play list i did one in there, its usually not too much of a job.
