There isn't really another place to put a big international airport on the island, it's mountainous and not very large with no really open space, it does it's job well.
While there is heavy island traffic using small turboprop aircraft, there is also daily flights from Europe and many US cities that utilize large aircraft. KLM uses the 747 to St. Maarten and Air France flies daily using the A340. Its only a 4 gate terminal with aircraft stands but it does see large aircraft
nice landing in spotting paradise :) !!!!
Thank you
I was probably on the beach if the date in the description is correct and saw your arrival! Left the next day on the U.S. Airways 757 to CLT.
Very nice!
Thanks!
i flew there on klm b747
coincidence? or i remember flying an aa 737 with a chipped flap
I wasn't on this flight or anything...
It's me or... a piece of the flap is missing lol
Omg
What a terrible design layout for an airport. I guess when you got limited space the runway will do as a taxiway.

hockeyman1119 yeah, the traffic is also lighter with smaller puddle jumper planes. Only the occasional 737.
