I have the very similar anniversary (64 model) same pickups and basic shape and they are great things, have the very rare astro jet too and that one had some binding issues on neck whereas anniversary is still fine
It is a shame for alot of years this happens to, I recently was told it is the GLUE they used not so much the plastic material. That is a possibility. The Cracking and Rot can be so bad on the neck binding to make the guitar literally unplayable. There is a fellow who does an excellent video on youtube here who is replacing all the binding on one.
I have one. All original with the case. Got her new in January 1967 and have loved her ever since! ❤️🙋♂️👍🖖🏻
I’m looking at buying a 67 Gretsch, but keep hearing the old ones are prone to warping and bindings etc falling apart. Any truth ?
@@jackietreehorn6935 Neck resets, and supposedly the GlUE Gretsch used was the binding cause. It is an aging reaction.

When did Grestch change the binding material that is prone to rot?
