I forgot about those chewy toffee candies in different color wrappers. Went the way of bulk food candies maybe. I get that scent for this sweet lackluster whiskey. Not bad on a warm day though but a lot more for less is available

New subscriber here. You guys are hilarious. From another whiskey man, I recently sampled some of the Traveler at my local liquor store. You guys are right. For 40 bucks it isn’t bad. I really enjoy the original Buffalo Trace when I can find a bottle of it as well. Looking forward to future content guys
I picked one up last week and it’s sweet, caramel, vanilla, light oak, creamy, nice mouth coat and flavor. Supposedly Chris and the other guy went through 50 blends and decided on blend 40 not bad for 38.00 bucks. Cheers!

what would you compare it to
and do you think is better than the normal buffalo trace?
@@lestagez I personally don’t care for regular Buffalo Trace that much but this seems like Caribou Crossing and maybe some Barton type mix. Sweetness like a Canadian whiskey?

Tried Traveler this week. Solid everyday drinker at $40 retail. Not the next big thing, but nice for a beginner at 90 proof.

I just walked into my local shop and found one of these bottles. I think it is a good pour, but I think I like some other bottles at the same price point, like I can get a Russel's Reserve 10 for the same price or a bit lower.

I think the problem Traveller has is it is being purchased by people who it isn’t really marketed to. It’s not for bourbon drinkers. Honestly, I describe it as Seagram’s 7 Crown if it were made with quality ingredients. It’s got Buffalo Trace’s name on it, because they were all over Yellowstone, and it’s meant to be bought by cocktail drinkers who really don’t drink much whiskey. It’s simple and sweet, perfect for mixing with coke! Crown Royal fans will love it.

$40 for 90 proof cut whiskey? You must be smitten with the celebrity endorsement. Had it at a friends house. Do yourself a favor a give it a pass.

It's definitely in that BT vain. I do think it's better than reg BT, with a better mouth feel and a bit more depth of flavor. It's definitely pricier than BT, but I personally like it better. At the very least worth grabbing a pour at a local pub to find out. I will say, this isn't worth the higher price if you're grabbing it to use a "general purpose" bourbon like I would BT.
This is not BT juice. Rumors are it's Barton juice blended with Canadian whiskey of all things. I think BT should be embarrassed for this cash grab

Oh, no doubt, it's middle of the road when compared to every other whiskey. But that's not what we're comparing it to. It's a solid pour for a beginners whiskey.
Wheatly vodka has been blended into this. So $40 for a cut bourbon? Meh....
That old Buffalo Trace distributor tactic of making stores buy cases of the stuff in exchange for a monthly bottle of Weller may not have been working....

Longbranch is pretty terrible, but Traveler isn't too bad. It's actually pretty solid.
Congrats, you paid $40 for Canadian Mist. If there is proof that what's on the bottle impacts what people think about what is in the bottle, this video is it.
We're just reviewing and giving our opinions. Regardless of what it is, it's alright for a beginners whiskey. We're not comparing it to high-end bourbon.
