One important thing you didnt mention. The cable is super short and tight around the plactic.I couldnt connect it back beacuse of the shortness of the cable, was trying for an hour doing from above the hood.Until i checked the video very precisely i noticed you losened the cable from the plastic so you can put it straight again otherwise you cant connect at an angle.
Oh, my! I feel sooo stupid now! Removing that cover... that was all! THANKS a mill! I thought, why is so hard to change a light bulb on this car, but..., you see... most of the cars have easy access on the light bulbs under the bonnet, aren't they? NOT THIS ONE! No sir!
I just tried to follow these steps and you guys had to take that headlight out of the car there is no access in my car at all to even see what you are doing
@@i-car-us Thank you for your reply. I have the following problem: sometimes my left light goes out while driving and the computer gives me an error. Then I just turn the lights off and then on and everything works and the error message disappears. Sometimes it happens to me once a month and sometimes 10 times in a minute, so it starts to be very boring. My guess is that the ballast is faulty!?
So I've got an A3 and you have to take the bumper off and it is a nightmare. Long story short, I tested the replacement bulb before reinstalling and got nothing. You should be able to just plug in and test and the bulb should turn on when you turn the headlights on right? Point is I didn't want to reinstall everything and have it not work. So now it doesn't work and I'm trying to figure if it is the bulb (cheap ones in a two pack) both dont work or is it something else. The rest of the lights in the ballast work so its getting power and not fuse. You don't have to clip it back into place for it to work do you??
I think this is one of the best explained videos ive seen all over youtube
Thanks
It's very helpful - I'd have thought you had to go in from the top, under the bonnet, rather than going in this way! So much easier!
Took at least 1 hour just to clip the wire connector back in to the bottom of the bulb! Nearly burnt the car it was so awkward! Great video 👍
Very detailed video,thank you!
Tried both ways, found it easier from the hood above, same car audi a3 8p.

I have the face lift version, but it's similar
Great video. Thanks for posting and you helped me a lot... I have one question: how to replace the ballast on this car?
You'll probably have to remove the headlight to do this. when the headlight is removed, you can simply screw on the control unit

Yes, would be my guess too
How long does changing the xenon take? 10 mins each side?
