If the ferry has to make a 360 deg turn after leaving her moorings, won't she be facing the same direction she started?
I watch this ferry most nights sail past on the horizon from my balcony windows. Makes a change to see what its like on the inside. great video 2x👍
I liked the cruise except the hungover part 😂😂
A very nice and well made video. Thanks, I really enjoyed it.
Always Great!! Thank you so much!!
How interesting and educational...thanks for sharing.
The video was very nice, it was also interesting to see the other vessels and their different services, I had no idea of the existence of such vessels hahaha. You always learn something new. Really thanks, I hope I can keep watching more and more videos!
I often visit the Customs house Shields, There is a good view of traffic on the Tyne from there, and also from the South Shields pier.
Very nice video but why was the music so dominant ? Without it this video would have been more like an experience. Now it is music with footage.
turn the sound down
You know your stuff! Great video
Nice videos, good work! I also enjoy the additional information in the subtitels.
Loved it !!
Nobody has ever responded to your comment in 2 years so im first idk if you will ever see this reply...I made this comment on 9/12/2020 I'm British so that's how we do our dates well not like DATE but like you know date anyways bye
Nice ! I took this ferry when she was in France with Brittany ferries (ouistreham to porthsmouth in england) .... Nice ferry :
Nice Video! Nice ships King and sister Princess. I was lucky enough to come to Europe earlier this year and sail on the Princess Seaways. It was a must, as she sparked my interest in ferries some years ago when she sailed between Tasmania and Mainland Australia as Spirit of Tasmania. Hope to sail on the King in the future. :)
I had no idea that ferries have a life not unlike that of ''Ginger'', the horse in Anna Sewell's 'Black Beauty'.
As new ships they are the pride of the fleet, but as they get older, they are sold on to other owners, and a once proud ship ends up decades later limping to the scrappers- some, like Stena Europe are ''old ladies' but are well cared for, despite being in their dotage.
Ship breakers yards are terrifying places, zero health and safety in places like India, Pakistan..one photograph showed an Indian woman sieving asbestos fibre, she was sat in it , like a pile of snow, and even British shipbuilders have mesothelioma from exposure to this deadly mineral, when the dangers were not as widely known.
Great Video! :-)
Scottish whisky is without the 'e ' .
There are beaches if you look to your right.
A fascinating video. Thanks very much for all the information. I can't say that I'd be too pleased at having my journey delayed a couple of hours on account of a crowd of late football supporters though.
I wasn't in a rush, Glad you liked it, Thanks for watching.
I agree, supposing one had an urgent appointment on the Dutch side that required your attendance and return on the 1700 sailing...
I have Dutch family so I used to visit the Netherlands regularly on the Hook of Holland Harwich route. I wish I'd had the chance to go this way instead. If I ever go back that's what I'll do. I can combine it with a visit to friends in Newcastle.
I was on one of the king seaways ships it was good journey
cool
Love all your videos but how do you get registration and stuff like that, Date of Launch and other things!
Mostly on Wikipedia and vesselfinder, the ships reg is written at the back under the name.
Great video. Do you have one from Hull to Holland? That's the one I'll do in November, visiting from Canada.
Not yet, maybe sometime, have a nice trip
très agréable de voyager avec dfds. henryk. belgium
I have been on Princess Seaways.
no Sir, after leaving her berth she makes a 180 degree trun. 360 degrees would no tbe of any help, would it?
You spelt (turn) wrong just saying have great day
What's crazy is; that MS Geopotes 15 is no longer operational. Its radar device is sat in "Osmar Marine Marin Electronics Store" in Istanbul. Last signal was received 11 months ago. Quite sad really.
Good evening sir , oIam watching yours beautiful videos from morning and still want to see whole night what a magical videos , description and it give me feeling I am there , thanks again sir and please make video 30monitues or 1hour long like you made Osaka to shanghai video
Thanks And Regards, from India
how long was the ride
i want one of those scale models lol
surely it was a 180 degree turn to dock, otherwise, what's the point in going full circle?
Also, you don't mention the fact that she was extensively rebuilt for Brittany Ferries where she spent 13 years (1993 to 2006) as their flagship 'Val de Loire, sailing mostly from Plymouth to Santander and later their Portsmouth to St Malo crossing in 2004 when the far superior pont Aven took over the status of flagship and the long voyage to Spain. She was later 'swapped' for the Dana Anglia/Duke of Scandinavia (not a great ship!)
You are correct, it should be a 180 turn. I was not aware that King previously operated for Brittany Ferries.
I don't know why, but there are a number of people who seem to dismiss BF as insignificant. My experience of them has been nothing but superb (especially since they got rid of the Pont L'abbe (Dana Anglia etc)) and replaced it with the Armourique on the Plymouth Roscoff route.
The Pont Aven is also a great ship to travel on. The top level cabins are really well appointed with private balconies etc.
Would be interested to see a review on that fleet. Maybe a future project for you :)
it was the rebuild of the King Seaways (to become the Val de Loire) by BF that added the sloping front profile, giving it a much improved appearance to the vertical slab front of its sister ships
I am well aware of BF and the Pont Aven and I hope to have a look around onboard sometime in the future :)
MS Marine Diesel
Great video, I will be doing the crossing in November. I presume it is cheaper to take the train rather than the bus from the port to Amsterdam. How about in Newcastle, is it easy to get from the train station to the ferry?
Enjoy your trip, It’s been a while since I was there, as far as I remember it was a long walk walk from the ferry to the train station in Ijmuiden however in Newcastle the North Shields metro station was close to the terminal. Its better to take the bus on the dutch side, it’s also probably cheaper than the train
Thank you, very helpful information.
There is a buss service to and from the Central Station in Newcastle that coincides with the ferry departure and arrival.
BoldTern...what a bizarre vessel, fascinating..
It certainly is an unusual and interesting vessel. Initially I thought it was a stationary platform and was a little surprised when I noticed it appeared to be moving. I read up about it afterwards in Wikipedia.
Those ''towers'' must be legs, by the rusty look of them. I will have to do a google ;)
Flying to Amsterdam, one sees the North Sea twinkling below, and I timed it took about 5 minutes to fly across the North Sea..but on a calm day, I'd rather go by sea.
Ferries no longer go to Oostende, maybe as the Channel tunnel ruined that trade.
Departure is 17.00pm not 16.30pm, and those cars are not Nissan, that's Volkswagen UK Distribution Port Compound. Nissan compound is where the Sanderling Ace is
Sad that this is no longer operating. From a great City to an amazing Country
@@deeingalaplike I was thinking of the Newcastle to Bergen route.
@@deeingalaplike I was fortunate to make that trip in 2008. It was a wonderful experience.
The bottom boat is blue the funnel is blue and the rest is white
Give me Geordie Shore on this vessel!
Will always be known as VAL DE LOIRE
Just discovered your channel and now busy ‘binge - watching’! Brilliant, all of them, but please, please, please - lose the music
Glad you like it, thanks for watching
Those car plants will probably be closed after 1/1/2021, especially if they export to the EU. They wil move to the EU itself, makes sense business wise.
Want to do this trip.
You need to work on mixing the music better and less annoying wind noise being heard. Please show more of the ship interiors with PEOPLE - not empty spaces.
Thanks for watching and commenting
I like your trip routes and your captions on other boats!
Required viewing for Herr Trump!!!
Why?
Film was informative.
Music was horrible.
Nice video but why on earth that annoying music?
I'd have left the football fans
