    My Father in law was the electrical officer on her when she was the Fantasia. I was the Resident DJ on her in the early 1990s. I know every inch of her. I loved that ship. I did an open air Disco show on her deck once. Just at the top of the stairs from the deck to the dome. Great times!

    My father worked on this ship, when the ship was bulgarian, under the name Ro-Ro Tzarevetz. Great ship with long history.

    I travelled on this in 1990, as the Stena Fantasia! I was 11yrs, and had a tour of the engine room with my Dad and the Chief Engineer. I remember him saying it was in Bulgaria before, which links up with the comments below. It was new to that route. We had driven back from Menorca, and had taken another ferry the day before from Mahon-Barcelona, on the Trasmediterranea ;-)

    Thanks for a very nice presentation of everything that is happening around the ship and the travelreport that goes with it. I found you just about 3 days ago! See you soon!

    Absolutely brilliant channel buddy. Love my ferry trips as well. Can you put in more trucks loading / unloading from the ship's please. We in the haulage game love to see who's shipping out. Keep up the brilliant work. Safe sailing.

    I remember a ferry I served on used to turn right around in Belfast on the narrow river Lagan using twin screws only, NO bow thrusters, or any assistance at all. This was in 1957.

      I don't think there was, however I did not look for it. There was a disco on the top deck probably suitable for teens.

      I drove for some weeks with the Wawel, yes - there is a small kids playing area. Between Info and Kantor. The ship is really nice.

    Such an old classic lady, very nice to hear her story. Strong feeling of 80's ferry there- not as glamouros as the real cruise ferries of the 80's but at her time most likely very purposeful. I wonder how she handle the baltic in rougher conditions.. I am curious to try her out but with nova star on the route its hard to justify picking wavel.
    How do you recon the comfort is, with the cabin standards etc? Have you tried nova star?
    love to see the old ships still out there, a favorite of mine is from the same year, so I have a soft spot for the old ferries with the bulky design for sure. Also reminds me of many happy days, I could almost smell the air when you walked on deck and heard the engine sounds.. Mmm love it. Same with the old wire ramps, memories from a great time working on an older cargo ship.. Now its all so modern ;)
    Looks like where wavel calls is much more attractive than the Gdynia port, where ive been many times. Looked like a lovely day, thanks for sharing another great journey!

      I remember being a bit disappointed really, because Wawel was equally as modern and comfortable as Nova Star if not even more so. Wawel doesnt feel as «cheap» as Nova star. The decoration on Wawel feels more luxurious but a bit older in a way. For example the luxurious looking staircases and the front of the shop are beautiful in the Wawel ferry, but the information signs have turned a bit yellow. However, a beautiful ferry that feels more home to me than the other

    A British plug socket! Well spotted - very eagle eyed! Another video of yours I have enjoyed watching. Particularly interesting to see the shipyard which produced that great hero of Solidarity and produced Poland’s first true democratically elected President, Lech Wałęsa.

    Americans could never understand the long-haul ferry business - which is so important in Europe. Then again, the US does not understand passenger rail travel...

    Your videos are brilliant however the Scots won't like you spelling Scottish Viking with only one t . Do you have to do emergency life boat station drill as you do on cruise ships when leaving port ? Thanks for sharing.

    • @msmarinediesel1843
      @msmarinediesel1843  6 років тому +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Unfortunately there are 1 or 2 mistakes in most of my videos. On ferries you do not need to do an emergency drill.

      Thank you, don't mean to be pedantic only that correct spelling looks more professional on your excellent videos. I love all the information about the ferries, lines and anything else that strikes your fancy; well done.

    You need less wind noise on these videos - gets painful at times! Also more interior shots with people.

    • @CreativeEm
      @CreativeEm 5 років тому +1

      The lack of people is because the uploader prefers not to invade their privacy, and the wind noise makes it a better experience. I wish more 'tubers took note of this channels ethics!

    Waste of time watching. Mainly looking at the ocean. Do they serve foods on the boat. Apart from the doors to the cabins. Nothing shown. Could of been in any part of the world.

      Maybe you never sailed on ferry, so you don’t share the excitement. I loved every minute of every video and appreciated all infos provided. And watching ocean and its changes never cease to fascinate me. I sailed on Alaska ferries many times so this change of scenery is precious to me. Oh, and once to Newfoundland from Nova Scotia.
