Wow.. if we could of had UA-cam back in the 70's.. I would be so far ahead.. Thank you for this video. I could not figure out how to get the batteries out.. you saved the day! Thank you for posting!
You saved my life after over four weeks of struggle. I was afraid it would come out the ceiling. This vid gave me confidence to give it a good turn with both hands and was more simple than I like to admit. Thank you.
Thanks so much from me and my anxiety ridden dog. My smoke detector says it's an "Apollo" brand - ADT installed it with my alarm system, but it looks just like this one and has the exact same battery set up. I could not figure out how to get the batteries out, and the beeping was causing my dog to stress out (panting & shaking & trying to destroy his crate or the door jam in my bedroom when I tried to leave him alone). ADT was useless after waiting 20+ minutes to speak to technical support - the first person told me to get a 3v battery (this was before I opened it - the ADT help video also said to get a 3v battery!), and the next person (I called back) told me to get the AAA batteries out "just push down on the end with the spring" (but there's no spring!) & when I tried to explain the plastic clips holding the batteries in place she told me to "just unclip the clips". Finding your video was a very welcome end to a 2 1/2 hour ordeal, starting with accidentally setting off the smoke detector while cooking (which must have killed the batteries?), and the fire department coming to my house even though ADT told me they would cancel the alarm call! I'm so disappointed with ADT right now! At least the beeping has stopped and my dog has a relaxed a bit now!
Mine still chirps and blinks yellow every 8 seconds or so. I cleaned it with an air blower and replaced the batteries with new ones I just bought. Nothing is stopping the chirping.
Same situation I'm having. My Vivint panel says "Smoke Detector Battery Low" (As the panel chimes this annoying brief alarm/tone) - Smoke detector chirps. I'll replace the batteries, all seems fine for a few hours, then it starts up again. I've tried multiple 3 AAA batteries. I can take out the batteries (use another small alarm I have) - Go to the panel and disable the Smoke Detector sensor, but this still will prompt that annoying tone every 10, 11 hours. So something is whacky.
push the up arrow button > Then touch Security on the display > touch the yellow square with a triangle that has an exclamation point in it > Touch the OK button.
@@sellgooddeals-DIY i tried that it didnt work...its ok i called my monitoring company and they reset my panel...but i was also holding it in my hand after changing the batteries instead of putting it back on the ceiling which was contributing to the problem
Mines was at my vivint security system which that wireless smoke detector company name was labeled :apollo: and also every 2gig/apollo wireless smoke alarm is that when it has a fualt or a low battery when theres smoke and fire, it will not activate the alarm since thoose are photoelectric and testing the heat detection and spray smoke and litting something on fire or using a test/hush button wont do anything with that wireless smoke detector and this is why every people need to replace the batteries on a 2gig smoke alarm and apollo wireless smoke detector's so it can function incase of a fire emergency

After trying to wait on hold for 8 minutes. I found your instruction and they were concise and easy to follow. Thanks!!!
Thanks so much. This is the most counter-intuitive piece of equipment I've come across.
Yes, it is. Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much my neighbor was freaking out I had to help her. You are a life saver.
Thank you so much. Very Helpful. Thought I was going to break it to replace batteries. They were very tight as you mentioned. Thank you 🙏
You are welcome!
How do you stop the chirping????
Thanks for sharing this but sad to say mine is still chirping after charging the battery. I don’t know 🤷♀️
can you replace all your existing smoke alarms with these?

Experiencing the same thing. What gives?
Your guys smoke detectors ether have expired or there is a malfunction or the smoke sensor is broken

Very good.
@@sellgooddeals-DIY it was chirping at 4:00 am but the good news is we replaced a new battery on it
what an awful company vivint is....
Worst design on the planet for the batteries.
