These are both past winners of different seasons, there’s no gentlemenly playing expected. Two of the best in the whole bracket, either could have gone till the end. You just expect them to play to each other’s weaknesses. Fairly played game imo.

For those wondering about the shoes, Erick and Jake play skate all the time and they probably do stuff like this to make it interesting because they already know all of each others tricks and what each other can’t do

To me it feel a bit cheap to win entirely off a single trick variation of the same trick to exploite your appoints weakness either through their injury or inability to do the trick.

Tbh Erick did a pivot->shuv and a layback boardslide. After the judges ruling on Wootens poorly done layback board I don’t blame Erick for not using more tricks from his bag. Wooten totally bailed that slide anyway, after him getting away with that… I’d wanna win.

I would pay good money to force Woodward to change the rules going forward because of this crap, I thought this contest was supposed to be innovative and cool, to see people land tricks they aren't good at and progress. Skateboarding was never supposed to be about winning, you didn't need to make rules prohibiting it because people were nice enough to understand that it isn't about winning.
