The piece I performed is Élégie, Op.24 by Gabriel Fauré
For me as a violist the thing that makes it obvious that its not a real instrument is the long attack time. String instruments actually have an extremely short attack time.
Why can't the string just be bowed slowly back and forth. You get unlimited amount.
@@varunkamal91 yes but the attack time of the sound is still instantly.
@@michivanhalen7086 Attack quickness can be changed on the software. Also when bowed hard vs softly the attack on a string instrument becomes instant vs late right?

@@michivanhalen7086 Got it. Loudness and quickness both can be adjusted with software though and since the seaboard bends notes flexibly and has portamento, you can imitate stringed instruments perfectly. In fact the only instrument you can't imitate with it is, a rhythm guitar strum pattern.

Maybe it's just me, but I think that a little more emotional desynchr (cello vs. piano) would make it sound even better. The leading instrument (cello in this case) cannot be "slave" of the background. 100% synchronization sounds kinda "mechanical" even with volume dynamics added. Even if it's cello+piano duet, they should be like a dance with changing lead from time to time and with its own speed dynamics. Also, the whole tempo could be a little more dynamic (make heartbeat your metronome!). It's not an artistic swimming with points given for synchronization 😉
But it's at least few years old already, so in sense of your playing style evolution it's probably Jurassic era.
Would *love* to have the Kontakt multi settings and other tools you used for this. I bought the Embertone Solo Strings and have got most dimensions to work with the Seaboard, other than the pitch bend

Hola Juan, encantado de saludarte y enhorabuena por la pieza y por el canal!, Estoy también viendo la posibilidad de comprar un Chelo Virtual, desde hace un par de meses me hice con el Roli Seaboard de 49 y quería consultarte porqué te decidiste por el BLAKUS CELLO de EMBERTONE, estoy viendo las posibilidades entre el de Tina Guo Legato Cello o el de SWAM Cello. Lo que mas me interesa es la interacción con el Roli, cual puede ofrecer una expresión lo mas natural posible. desde luego en esta pieza se te ve disfrutando mucho! gracias por todo! Ricardo, Gracias por tu comentario. Cuando Conseguí este instrumento, fue por un buen descuento que tuvo. En esa época era lo que mi presupuesto me permitía. No estoy muy familiarizado con el Tina Guo y el SWAM, pero estoy seguro que el nivel de realismo de ellos es TOP! Esta misma interacción se puede realizar con cualquier otro VST para que sea mas natural a la hora de interpretarlo.

You have to buy an Audio Interface. I'd recommend you to buy a Focusrite one.

Great playing, but I would call the app “kind of” realistic instead, as a violin has 4 strings while the app is monophonic.
Quick question: does the Seaboard have built-in amplifiers or does it need extern ones?

This seaboard os extremely delicate to play and unlike a normal keyboard. I doubt you could just pick one up and do any better. Stop it. Art is subjective.
It’s not perfect but karma is very real. Any well adjusted musician knows better than to down anyone’s work. Simply shut up and out perform.
