you let your kids dictate what to do at that age , it's going to be a problem when they're about to go to highschool. I've mentored hundreds of kids for over 20 years, What I've seen isn't pretty with kids with no structure or discipline. Will's problem was not preparing the kid for the business and giving her too much too early.
It’s not about kids completely dictating what they want to do, but their opinions should definitely be taken into consideration. And he seems to have done just fine raising very well-mannered and thoughtful children. So the entirety of your comment sounds like trash 🤷🏽♀️

Will and Jada consciously chose to parent their kids by what they called, "leading from behind." The kids were allowed to be self-directed. For those who think he should have made her do it, you don't understand the type of children. Willow would have went on stage and did some rebellious shit to show him. He did the right thing.

The truth is, some child stars grow up and learn to have EXTREMELY difficult relationships with their parents, because more often than not, they maybe did not WANT to work but their legal guardian SAID they would, and they had to do. What is the right answer here? If you’ve committed to something, and you no longer want to do it. Is it right to walk away from it? Especially if there are people outside yourself who stand to lose something. What is the right and fair answer to this question?
This is what parents are showing kids to do now...it spills over into adult lives by not staying long at a job. Young people in the workforce now barely make thru orientation at a new job anymore...they have no focus and know NO COMMITMENT...!

That was the right move based on her behavioral reactions to the opportunity but the lesson learned should have been from her (regardless of age) not Will. Your word is everything.
No, when a very under-aged young girl wants out of something she tried and realized is not right for her after all, you allow her to get out. Otherwise you would be teaching her that she must say 'yes' to a successful powerful man (Jay-Z) even when she wants to say no, and that's a whole can of worms that should never be opened up. There are plenty of other opportunities and situations where her parents can teach her perseverance. His lesson was to realize that no matter how far she's into it, when a girl says no, it must be respected and that her 'no' has value.

As a parent he needs to provide a safe space for her to make mistakes and he needs to understand that even at that young age, no means no. No woman or girl should have to say no to anything more than once, and she shouldn't have had to shave her head to get him to realize she was serious.

Nah that's not the right move. Children need to learn responsibility, commitment and finishing what they started. That's not how life works. You not wanting to do something so you be a brat and quit. If that is what you learn from a young age, you'll think the world works like that and it doesn't. 90% of kids around the world don't have that option but this teaches them how to be a person. I actually think it was great. Willow, at that young age, knew that her voice mattered. She realized that her father didn’t understand that, so she made him. They are raising her to be powerful. It’s “unsettling” because we aren’t used to children having that strong of an identity, but if it was the norm, there probably wouldn’t be such a drastic rise in child suicide.
