Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall. The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.
Thanks a bunch Josh. This made things pretty clear for me. I’m going with the 1600. I also picked up the Uber flex 50’ and the 1.1 orifice. Thanks for doing all the testing. I figured since I was planning on around 70$ n upgrades and the performance was similar, it was a no brainer. Thanks for making that WAY easier to decide.
Nice review. At least you didn’t call them crap and say that you can’t believe why you are even associating with RYOBI. Then call your viewers idiots for even owning a RYOBI like the guy at Narcissistic garage. Lol. Love your channel. Keep bringing those informative videos for the 99% of us who aren’t above using affordable equipment.
Thank you for the review. I spent 15 minutes staring at both of them at the store. Ended up not getting either (yet) because I couldn't decide. I knew UA-cam would have some reviews of them, and I'm very happy your review was so thorough. I am leaning towards the 1900 because I like the overall appearance better - cage, soap container, wheels; seems worth it for an extra $50. I have a gas Ryobi 2900 and it is great, but way to powerful for car washing.
Good reviews on these little machines. My 1600 lasted about 8 months and I used it maybe 5 or 6 times. It developed an oil leak. I returned it for a store credit and got the 1900. The 1900 felt like it had a bit more pressure, but after watching your videos apparently they’re the same. I do like the cage, and the ability to efficiently wrap the electric cord. I even use the wand that comes with it, even though I have a pistol grip wand and an extended wand. Like you, everything is hooked up with quick disconnects. It’s all right there in one neat little package. Thanks for sharing.
As mentioned below, excellent "extremely" thorough review mate. I am in the market and you saved me a ton of headache. Especially with your after market suggestions. You gained a "sub", thanks for what you do.
I was literally going to go buy one today. Now I know what to do, thank you very much for the comparison nice job. I’ll pay a little more for the convenience of the wheels and handle.
I absolutely would like to personally thank you for making this pressure washer comparison! I’ve been going back and fourth to see if the price difference is work the the added PSI. I’d be running the sane thing as test #4 for both pressure washers and you gave me the answer I was looking for! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this comparison! I appreciate you sir!

That little 1600 is an awesome piece of kit. This vid convinced me to buy it and I love it. Bought the gun and the Uberflex too and it's the perfect set up for my needs. Thanks for making the vid!
Thanks for the great reviews. What would you recommend based on all your reviews with either the ryobi 1600, 1900, and 2000 PSI taking power pressure and price relation. Thanks.
Thanks Josh for the video. I have learned a lot from you to keep my Tesla shiny new looking (my wife refers to you as the pressure washer guy). I bought the Craftsman washer from my local Lowes on sale for $79 which I thought was a good value. Prior to watching your comparison video I was rethinking my purchase.......decided to keep it for portability and easy storage. Thanks again.
Good source of information. I just bought the $149 version, but may stick with it because it has the soap dispenser built in. and to get the soap Dispenser separately will cost almost the same.
Thanks to this video...just got the 1600psi for $68 home depot...I was gonna return it for that other model 1900psi..but coz of the test I'll keep it..I don't care much about the rest of the features.. especially that I save alot already ..👍
The newer 1800psi Ryobi is small enough to fit inside the Milwaukee packout base with quick connects installed on everything. I just put the unit, multiple guns and all the accessories and tips into 2 packout pieces. (I could really fit them all just in the base. Makes life much easier bringing it outside since I don’t have a garage. You could easily keep soap for a foam cannon, a buffer, polishing pads and detailing stuff in one rolling packout system.
This is what I was looking for. The Ryobi 1,600psi for $99. The 1,900psi $149one isn't listed in the Home Depot store near me. Only the 1,600 and then jumps up to the 2000 psi for another $100. I only needed something to clean off a 15 foot area of vinyl siding and rain gutter of algea/mold due to the shadow of a large maple. The other more high pressure needed job is getting a season of lawn mowing build up under my fabricated lawn tractor deck. It has a water cleaning attachment on the deck, but each year there's still some caked up in the corners. This showed me the cheaper priced one is more than enough and puts out more than 1,600psi. Right now it's $99 and I'll be there tomorrow to pick it up, as well as a couple other lawn care toys. Thanks for taking the time testing and posting this. I just filmed a video on it today and it has the exact same performance as the 1600psi so go for the cheaper $99 one! It’s a great value! My car is actually a 69 fairlane... it would be worth more if it were a chevelle haha!!
@@imjoshv Thanks for the info on the two pressure washers. Cool on your car being a Fairlane. I had just posted my comment when I thought..."I bet it's a Ford" and for a few min. Hi Josh, I've had the Portland 1750 for about 6yrs now. I only use it to wash the cars & light work around the house and it still works great. I have the opportunity to get the Ryobi 1900 NIB for $50. You think I should take it and retire the Portland or pass? Thanks
What electric pressure washer do you prefer, green works, ryobi or craftman? I have a ryobi 1600psi but it been going in and out lately. Don’t know what wrong with it. Trying to decide if I should get another ryobi or a different brand.
Just bought this unit...Ryobi advises using a pump protector lubricant after each use. Do you use them? I don't know what the ingredients are but I'd hate to have residual residue left in the pump even after initially clearing it out on the next use end up on my new vehicle.
Do you happen to remember what orifice size for the 40 degree? What size orifice would you recommend for detailing for initial rinse and secondary rinse after foam?
Hey Josh, I have the Powerplay Spyder 2000 1.4gpm. It has the M22 x 15mm. Do I need to buy the extra attachments for pressure hose/gun? if so, what do I need?
Thanks for the vid! i have the 1600/1800 psi model Looks similar to the one in your vid but I guess newer model? Makes sense to why it’s named 1800 now? I was wishing I got that 1900 model but now I’m good! The ability to store the hose, cord etc nicely is still a nice tough on the 1900 but if I think about it it’s so light and compact I can’t really see needing to wheel it and while not looking as neat, the cord, hose strapped to handle is fine and if I had the 1900 would probably just the carrying it via the handle anyway so I’ll stick to my 1800! Oh and yes the hose upgrade is a must! Factory stiff hose gets old dealing with quick!
Was curious if you knew the orifice size of the 1600 psi unit? Also would this unit be able to handle a smaller orifice size to increase the psi with a 45degree nozzle? What do you recommend and thanks!!!!
Thanks for the Great video! I am in the market for a new pressure washer for my new jeep and the womans ford fusion.. her weather tech mats are horrible. Any way its nice to know that im buying a good products. I purchased everything off of your links.. thanks again.. the pressure washer, foam gun, 1.1 mm orifices, black spray gun, and quick disconnects! Im gonna try the stock hose for now come spring, see how it works.
Thanks for the video. I've been using the Ryobi 1600 psi unit for a couple of years now and have been wondering if I should change, especially after seeing your previous video with the new Ryobi pressure washer. Glad to know I can still keep using this without missing anything, although I think I'll take your advice and grab some of the accessories you were talking about. Two questions though: first, I've always used my pressure washer with a 40 degree nozzle, as I was under the impression that is what is safest for washing cars. Can I use a different nozzle without worrying about harming the paint? Second, are there any electric pressure washers that have a greater GPM rating? I know with foam cannons, that's the measurement that really affects how well it works, but all of the electric pressure washers I've seen seem to top out around 1.2. Don't really want to mess with gas ones, so I was curious if you know of any electric ones that I could look at.
Yea keep that thing it works great! I run a 15 degree nozzle on mine most of the time. I stay back a little bit but the extra psi helps to rinse things a bit faster! There are higher gpm units like the kranzle but it’s really expensive. Some of the ar blue machines are higher too. 1.4 I think. As long as you switch to the 1.1mm orifice in your foam cannon you will be fine with the unit you have! It makes a huge difference!!
Thank you for the video. Did you use a water pump on your Mobile detail truck? My first Ryobi pressure washer died after 3 uses with just the gravity fed water to the pressure washer with no water pump not sure what I did wrong. I was letting the water drip off the hose before turning pressure washer on like you did on the Mobil set up Video you did some time ago.
I’m sorry to hear that... no I have not been running any pumps with mine but I have thought about adding one just so I wouldn’t have to deal with priming the hose
Thanks for all the great content i am getting into flipping cars so your videos are helping me a lot. My question is will the tips that come with the after market gun work with the 1600 psi unit? I don't have the original ones that came with the pressure washer.
It’s actually a newer unit so I don’t think they have them all stocked in.. I bought mine then they were gone at my local store for about 3 weeks before they had anymore
@@imjoshv I just bought one from Home Depot earlier (1600 PSI 1.2 GPM for $99). I used it and the power is unbelievable! For such a small machine, I can't believe how it can give that much pressure! I'm a happy camper, thanks to you IMJOSHV!!!

Nice video just picked up the 1600psi one on sale at HD for $68
I saw that sale... amazing price!!
I'll buy it from you for 70. Ez profit
Does the $99 ryobi or the $99 Craftsman have a better hose?
Was curious if you knew the orifice size of the 1600 psi unit? Also would this unit be able to handle a smaller orifice size to increase the psi with a 45degree nozzle? What do you recommend and thanks!!!!
Thanks for the video going to use this for now to start my auto detailing business
👍👍
So can you twist the nozzle to change the width of the spray?
Very great video ! Looks like I’m getting the smaller unit to start my mobile detailing business 🙂😄 Definitely helps thank you !
Awesome! It’s a great choice!!
Same, but im doing mine for semi trucks. Good luck!
I want one just for washing my house down and car! And cleaning my garage floor and drive way any suggestions
Awesome!!
@@imjoshv awesome, thanks for the reply!
👍🙏
Awesome comparison!
Thanks!
Great comparison! Thank you for your valuable video!
👍👍 I have a new one coming up looking at the new 1800psi unit they came out with! Should be up this week
Cool video man! Helped a lot on seeing if expensive is better. Guess not. Thanks!
👍👍👍 they just came out with a new 2000psi version that I will be reviewing soon
thank you.. you've saved me some money.
Glad I could help!
Sold me on the 1600
👍👍
Just bought one and it no longer comes with a 40 degree nozzle. Do you know the orifice size of the 40 degree nozzle it came with?
The real question is, which one is better built and will last longer? Or are they literally the same internals just different exteriors?
Thank you for the video.
Did you use a water pump on your Mobile detail truck?
My first Ryobi pressure washer died after 3 uses with just the gravity fed water to the pressure washer with no water pump not sure what I did wrong. I was letting the water drip off the hose before turning pressure washer on like you did on the Mobil set up Video you did some time ago.
I’m sorry to hear that... no I have not been running any pumps with mine but I have thought about adding one just so I wouldn’t have to deal with priming the hose
Very helpful review and excellent advice.👍
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for all the great content i am getting into flipping cars so your videos are helping me a lot.
My question is will the tips that come with the after market gun work with the 1600 psi unit? I don't have the original ones that came with the pressure washer.
I seen 1600 psi, 1700 psi, 1900 psi and 2000 psi, which one u think will do the job to was my driveway and car wash too?
The ryobi 1600 actually puts out closer to 1800 psi. It’s cheap and lasts! You can do your driveway, it will just take a while
@@imjoshv oh ok, do you know why I can't find the 1900psi power washer anymore at home depot? Are they discontinued?
It’s actually a newer unit so I don’t think they have them all stocked in.. I bought mine then they were gone at my local store for about 3 weeks before they had anymore
If you do t have access to a water source can you use a bucket of water?
Hi josh, can I use the 1600psi ryobi with the MJJC Pro foam cannon? Asking since it says minimum psi is 2000.
Hey, what about an undercarriage attachment with the 1900 psi....will it work?
Thank you so much for your side to side comparison! Now I know exactly which one to buy!
👍👍
@@imjoshv I just bought one from Home Depot earlier (1600 PSI 1.2 GPM for $99). I used it and the power is unbelievable! For such a small machine, I can't believe how it can give that much pressure! I'm a happy camper, thanks to you IMJOSHV!!!
What orifices are these nozzles? I always thought the degree didn't matter?
Hi I just want to know where I can get the pressure washing guns small one
Going now to buy one that I’ve researched the 1600 one at Home Depot for $99
Its a great unit at an amazing price! I would just recommend getting the aftermarket hose. Its make it sooo much nice to use 50' UberFlex Hose - amzn.to/3ktcI9u
Is 1900 PSI too much pressure for the paint of a car?
On the other hand, is 1900 PSI enough pressure to clean cement and stucco on the house?
thank you! lots of good information.
👍👍
What's your gravity fed setup of choice?
