    When you turn on the water at the faucet, don't turn on the power yet. Turn on the faucet, squeeze the handle on the gun for several seconds, then turn on the power. This ensures you bleed the air out of the system which prolongs the life of the pump. Faucet, handle, then power. These are awesome little washers.
    BTW, good video!

      Exactly. That was the one thing I noticed and different from what the instructions said.

      Do you do that everytime before using it?

      Yes you have to turn the water on first so it doesn’t burn out the pump

    Thank you soo much for this instructional video! I was going to rent a Pressure Washer from Home Depot because I am cleaning my Mother-In-Law's backyard wooden deck. For the cost of the "One Day Rental" from Home Depot, I can literally purchase one of these and have it to keep forever. On top of that, I do Not have to race the clock and try to bring the Pressure Washer back to Home Depot before my time expires and I end up having to pay for an additional rental day. It really pays to take the time to do my research on UA-cam before just going out and doing something spontaneously. Thanks again.

    Thanks, Tom! I just bot one of the 1900 psi Ryobi's at Home Depot for $150 and have yet to try it out. I puzzled a bit at putting the wand on the trigger handle. You actually have to push the wand IN and then turn. Rest of it seems about as you say and I'm champing at the bit to use it to clean some roofing where a leak is occurring before caulking it up. Way cheaper than hiring another contractor. Thanks!

    Yay! I just purchased this item and had to watch your video to see how to insert the default nozzle. I realized that I was not pressing hard enough for it to snapp into place. After watching this video, I feel confident that I can do this task. Thank you 👍

    One thing you want to do before you power the pressure washer is to have the water turned on. Squeeze the nozzle and let any air pockets
    run out of the water house. This may take a minute or so depending on how much air is in the water hose. Air pockets will play havoc with the pressure washer motor and the shut-off valve.

    I bought this reconditioned from Direct Tools Outlet for $49.99. Very pleased. Their reconditioned items are a gamble but I went 2-0 on the pressure washer and 20 inch brushless mower. Best part of the pressure washer is the connections. Nothing leaks, unlike my prior Campbell Hausfeld model. The storage setup is also superior. Very small footprint and easy to clean. I like everything except the gray hose is not the best. It can annoyingly twist. I replaced it with a blue Uberflex hose for $32.

    You can probably use an RV and marine antifreeze to winterize. It’s meant for potable water systems and contains a salt which sometimes builds up in our camper which we run vinegar through to countereffect. The antifreeze costs 3-5$ depends where you get it.

    Best part about these is the 3 year warranty. I originally bought the 2000psi one on wheels it was on sale for $149 normally $180 but returned it for the $99 one which is now on sale for $68. They both have same size motor just different upgrades and with having a 3800psi gas one the small guy was all I needed for cleaning my toys. Even if it dies after the warranty point it’s money well spent and I’ll get another on a Black Friday after three years if it dies. I was close to buying the HarborFreight for $79 on sale but discovered these ryobi ones and won’t look back!

    I enjoyed watching your review. I just bought one and will unbox tomorrow. My intentions are to clean decking, small concrete patio and siding. I bought mine at The Home Depot for $149 along with a gallon of soap. What I didn't buy but probably will is a 5-piece nozzle set for $19.99 made by DeWalt (if I remember correctly). Those attachments are angles that start with zero angle and go up...15 deg, 20 deg, 25 etc.

    Surface cleaner attachment is about 3 or 4 times faster. 10-12 inch path. Good video 👌

    Just got this pressure washer and noticed when gripping the extension with free hand it goes to max power automatically. I think the designers put this as a safety feature so one handed it won't go wild on you. While a nice feature sometimes I wish it was at full power all the time as it is awkward to hold at the extension.

    I just got one this week. It works great. I'm glad I got the 1900 PSI unit. I bought the foam cannon and washed both vehicles and most of my driveway that my extension cord and hose could reach.
    I would like to get a longer hose with the connections on them so I could get all around my cars.
    Any suggestions on the hose?

    • @HomeImprovementVideos
      @HomeImprovementVideos  Рік тому

      I just wheel mine around to where I need it so I haven't really looked into a longer hose. I would imagine it's a pretty standard pressure washer hose, though I guess you'll want to make sure it can stand up to the rated pressure. Let me know if you find something that works!

      @@RoyHobbs-hk8cf Yes you can. I use mine to clean my long curved driveway. It works great.
      If you use an extension cord you need to get a heavy duty one such as 12/3. It can't be over 75' long.
      The pressure washer draws 13 amps.

    Just bought one for my grandpa, he always cleans the bottom of his lawnmower deck with a water hose and shape objects to get the dirt off. You think this is enough to get dry dirt of the bottom of a mower? If not soft built up dirt?

      1900 psi is enough, anything above that amount should be avoided to wash cars. Especially gasoline pressure washers.

    • @HomeImprovementVideos
      @HomeImprovementVideos  3 роки тому +1

      I guess if you're careful? I generally wouldn't recommend using any power washer on any surface you can't test thoroughly. I've seen too many things mess up car finishes (brushes, scrubbers, paper towels) so I don't think I would try it.

    • @midas617
      @midas617 3 роки тому +1

      Yes. I use it to wash the cars without a hitch, as long as you use the 40-degree nozzle, not included. I got mine from Wallyworld, and it's made in 'Murica'. www.walmart.com/ip/Pressure-Washer-QC-Nozzle-40-Degree/52373298

      @WolvesHart79 3 роки тому

      These things aren't very powerful so their primary use is on cars, boats, ATVs etc. Heavy duty jobs are out of it's league though...you'll need a gas one for bigger stuff i.e. fences, decks, driveways etc.

    • @Solittletimetoomany
      @Solittletimetoomany 3 роки тому

      Michael Hart. I washed my driveway with it and it did ok. Probably took a little longer than it did when I used a neighbor’s gas powered washer. But it was heavy, sometime difficulty starting, had to be careful had enough oil, buying and transporting gas. I love the ease and convenience of the electric, even if it takes a little longer.
