I've been to car audio contests and have seen vans like these and they are so well sealed you really dont hear or feel the bass but I assure you it's enough to cause cardiac arrest at that decibel and stop your heart :)
"content" starts at 3:25....
3:39
Car: brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNnnnn
“181.1!”
People: 👁👄👁
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 “wow”
Haven't been Rick ROLLED in a looooong time, thanks :)

Thanks for ruining the video for me before watching it
They had to use an impact to seal the door.....that's not a van anymore. It's a pressure vessel on wheels.
There's a reason why the test doesn't sound very loud. In order to achieve sound pressure that high, that van would have to be built like a bank vault to contain it. If the body panels weren't reinforced and allowed to flex, the internal pressure in the van would be lower, and they would get a lower score.
There's nothing misleading about this video. The low thumb score comes from some peoples ignorance on the subject.........and science in general.
probably has close to 30k invested into audio but cant afford more then 1 power drill lol
ITzMichael523 lol i heard on the forums he had over 250k into that van
Those subs cost 5 grand a piece and he’s got 6. That’s 30k right there. Subs are the cheapest part of audio. Next is amplifiers and then electrical. I’m sure he has atleast 150 grand into the vehicle.
p.s. it actually starts at 3:10 and it is awfully disappointing
unless your into watching dudes bolt car doors shut, then disregard.
you can see camera shaking dude
Well that was anti-climactic. I thought the doors were going to dent or the crowds reactions would be recorded. Just 5 seconds of sound?
Truth brother that was the lamest shit I've ever seen. My sub flex video got 10k views cause its a 30 second clip of full send flexing, no bullshit, jusr straight action. Thats what a sub video should be. This is like 3 seconds of 40hz. The equipment is probably about the cost of a starter home. Throw on some Jeezy bro. I'm just saying 15 year old me would of died to hear put on, on this shit. Eminem's Darkness hits hard too
After everything is bolted down....."Crap, I left the remote inside"..... Man thats so loud!
You must not have seen the radio mounted outside the van
Hay Eric, it was a joke, get it? I'll dumb it down. It would really suck after all that bolting and securing that if there were no outside radio to have left the stereo remote inside the locked up van.
I know what you was tryna say. I guess I'll dumb it down for you. Fail.
You were trying to be funny but it didnt work out for you
Eric Stevens Well 4 people thought it was a good comment. It's just too bad that you were too stupid to get the joke, and the best you can come with to cover up your ignorant comment is, "fail". You were trying to not look stupid, but it didn't work out for you.
what a boring event.. amazed theirs any crowd at all..
DBdrag is a pile of shit!
Best part is the commentator was the loudest thing there! 😂
I remember an older gentleman who was at a outside competition and he brought in a small vehicle which he had to bolt the doors down for a record for a single 8in sub. I bet in his ride the new updated heavy hutters would blow that away given the advancements in his vehicle just replacing the 8 with a new one and upgrading the amp.
Wow I'm pissed.
is this the same one with 128 x 8" subs and solid filled tires from 15 years ago? it has different paint from the astro/safari I saw way back then.
This is insane I'm hitting right over 130 and can barely sit in my vehicle with it turned up.
The bolts through the door actually makes it quieter as it can't move as much air. I know my bass was louder with window down just a little for air movement.
anyone know where this mic was for their termlab? kick, windshield, port...etc
Could you show the scoreboard after it was done I wanted to see the vibration on the van shity video
not much to see, its basically an armored car, and if your panels are flexing your losing DBs
Is that a '94 Astro short box van?
12db short of a shockwave
seriously.. why so many fucking thumbs down?? you have to fucking BOLT THE DOOR SHUT TO KEEP IT FROM OPENING..... like the person below me... you cant hear/feel or get any emotion or anything from watchin subwoofers online.. what do you fucking expect... badass car.. thumbs up-
the drill bolting the doors in was more loud
If they had to boot everything down it must be the loudest vehicle
Why are people complaining? every 3db is doubling the soundpressure......
This is db dragracing by the way not the most exciting sport to watch. And people are saying they can do better what the fuck!!!? Even saw a guy saying: Do the hair trick! Really? That could be fcking deadly, your ears would wipe out!
try being in a taco truck full of bass so loud that u have to inhale exhale it was sick
how many watts?
How amps use ? In another video i see one stiker by soundigital... In this video i only see stiker by ohio alts..
Got a video of that?
Well, that was probably $100,000 well spent.
how many do u think
It sounded like my lil brother's fart.
Josue Hernandez yet it probably would have killed you if you were sitting inside
181.1db spl....remember...back in the day when car audio's purpose was for listening to music? Fools.
That's cool I remember when I was doing 145 and that was a long long time ago.And we thought we were so bad.LOL
lol, using an impact gun to close the door. That's not a vehicle anymore, that's a pressure vessel.
y did u move camera i wanted to see how bad it flexs
Yes.
does the vehicle still have a drivetrain or has it all been removed ?
When I was down in Mexico, it was popular to grab cheap speakers and play shitty music. I wanna build this with no crazy sound dampening, put it far enough away to not cause long term damage, and put on some bluegrass. Maybe that'll show em
So true lol. The lower the hertz, the more it hurts.
Would 181 decibels be enough to kill someone sealed inside the car?
Maybe
The whole video was them just setting it up thats all
I turned my volume in fear of blowing out my speakers *after watches video* well... my ears hurt?
This is proof that flex is a bad thing.
I understand being proud that your subs can make your car flex, but flex is the enemy of SPL. You can't get optimum pressure if your volume changes.
Flex isn't always detrimental toward spl
Being that detrimental is a description of extent, I guess you're right.
Looks like you started the shaking effect on the camera before the music even started
well why wasn't the camera in there?
i have had a flashbang go off not two feet infront of me in iraq and those put out 170 decibles temporary blindness aside my ears were bleeding and rung for a week not to mention a significant temporary hearing loss i was yelling at everyone
so at 181 db if i sit in this ride it would instantly perferate my ear drums what the fuck is the point of that seriously a car stereo that perferates your ear drums this is the most pointless competition known to mankind
Says you but it really takes skill and engineering to even think about getting on Craig Butlers level.
Really.. whats the point. I am a bass head. But this, I have never been able to comprehend.
+Richphotos1 this would kill all occupants inside.
120dB is right by the speakers at a rock concert!
but bass is much different to normal sounds, it's percieved as much quieter. still very loud
@@therenaissanceape I'm actually surprised 180 dB can be produced by conventional loudspeaker equipment
nice score
You know there serious when they bolt the fucking door on
Nobody in the audience looked happy to be there.
X2!! I agree...
Why all the shaking in the video
loudest announcer in the world
do they guy know any thing about real sq in car audio
comparing sq and spl cars is like comparing a formula 1 car to a top fueller.
85 is normal speech it's at 100 man the hairs in the ear start laying down an hearing lose begins we just had osha at my work wearing mics to run my shear
Yup
Does anyone know how much this would cost
+The: 1 a lot. this system would send you to the hospital if it was not all closed up like that.
but its still enjoyable but certainly this is just the one vehicle that can never be demoed at full volume. thats kinda crazy to think a max volume demo irl would kill you pretty much
181.1 db amazing
what type of subs he using
DD Z.
Quick flash of 40 hz.... hope that was worth the cost of a home....
140 decibels, equivalent to a gunshot blast, jet plane take-off at close range [approximately 200 feet], air raid siren [any length of exposure time is dangerous and is at the threshold of pain], 180 decibels, is equivalent to a rocket launching pad at point blank at take off [hearing loss inevitable] Each increase of 10 db multiplies the sound level by 10. 100 db is 10 times as loud as 90 db. 110 is 10 times as loud as 100.
I got sucked into this crap 7 years ago with JL Audio. Started out with a nice alpine disc player and a 600 4 chan. with 4 JL 3 ways and a 500 mono and a 8w7 and within 1 month it was all removed and replaced with 2- 1000 watt mono amps feeding 2-12w7s and 4 Boston acoustics Z6s powered with 2 600x2 and a high output alternator and an extra battery, then I realized I was listening to music I hate just so I could hear the bass.. What a waste of money. Now I have 2 giant paper weights.
I tapped at 155 on 50hz. I can take 30hz up to 160. 60hz I can’t take any of it. 20hz I can withstand the whole hurricane 🌀
He aint the loudest anymore, the new world record holder is from Indiana and he hit over 184 bd
But does it play music?
How can people think Steve Meade hits anywhere NEAR 181.1 db? His tahoe probably hits mid 150's tops. But to each his own, I'm not a numbers guy either.
Wasted 5 minutes to hear a buzz in the phone.
every 10 db the sound dobble so 50 db dobbled will be 60 so if a chain saw is 100 that means that 180 db is 8 times louder than a chain saw
Wouldn't that mean 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 x louder than a chainsaw (although the actual strength of the sound is 100,000,000)? Although in truth a chain saw is louder than 100 at close range and more highs.
i don't think ppl on here understand the gravity of 180db... lets start at 100 decibels, equivalent to a chain saw, 120 db a Rock concert, 130 decibels, equivalent to sound vibrations felt, as with thunder or near a four-engine jet at thirty meters,
Once upon a time... Car was for driving. Was it? This contests are f**ing ridiculous.
doe anyone wonder how he lowers and ups the volume while driving? humm
How is it a waste of money? It takes skill to do what he did.
185 db is potentially lethal this car is 3 db away any you wouldn't go deaf your lungs would collapse from the S.P.L.
4* db
180 is lethal.
I would rather watch a slightly modified vehicle hit a 170 than this "vehicle" hit a world record. I'm gonna go out and get a van put a crazy loud system in it just to bolt, steel plate, and rhino-line everything so it is a comp-only ride that isn't able to give demos from the inside. And his own record is 182.4, not 181.1.
how close can u be while those stereos are going at full power? because bass at high enough DB levels can be dangerous to a human body. 181.1 is more than enough to liquefy your ear drums resulting in permanent and full deafness, 198-202DB can kill a person
woah a fucking box that makes noise !
181 DB???!!! the loudest sound recorded was from the Krakatoa explosion at 172 DB. so this guy might have broken a record. but the explosion was recorded from over 100 miles away so the explosion it self might have been more around 250 DB. this stereo was recorded at point blank range. but this still could be the loudest recorded sound.
+electronics for fun
Have you done any research on the highest decibel readings..? You might do that and come back to delete your comment. Lol
Consider what the sound is traveling through, it can only be so loud in different environments no matter what it is.
l did do research, that is what l got.
why?
Your ear drums ruptures at 150dB
Wow 🤩
Yeah, I've got 1 15" P3 on a JBL 1200EZ and it has cracked the backglass on my 5.0 explorer and rattled the rivets out of my roof rack..That's plenty loud for me lol.
bunch of "rock it" scientist!
180db can stop your hear or even perforate the lungs, but that 180bds needs to be in the form of high-energy-impulse noise. You can sit in a LOUD car and go up to 180db with out much trouble (other than being uncomfortable). But going from an ambient db level to 180dbs by means of a high-energy-impulse noise (a bass berp - very suddenly) the SPL shock wave can do bodily harm. Like being hit by a concussive wave from a bomb. THe bombs doesn't have to hit you to kill you, the SP wave can do it.
you all call it lame cause its something you cannot achieve in your life, this is goal to me in the future to hit that same score but with a smaller vehicle.
BTW...craig butler isn't the loudest in the world....shocker hal is with the SPL of 181.9db
They have to drill the doors shut? If you can’t enjoy it, it’s too much.
Because they want the camera to be operational after...
I don't think you understand what would be going on inside that car lol.
my suv hits 149.8 db's so I kind of get how 180 would feel but I would not want to try it at all... just to the pont I went from 134.7 last year and that extra 15ish db.... man I love it but any more I would think it would hurt lols.
Where's the hype from the crowd if I was there I'd be like yelling f*** yeah beers all around
THE LOUDEST BOLTED VEHICLE!!!🤦♂️
to be able to feel 181 DB would be just amazing
You would literally did
Slim Richards v2 lol what
181 decibels would legit kill you
Now what's it like to sit inside that thing??
Tell Us how much power your running and how many woofer etc.. Not to much info on the system or the setup to view.. I'm not impressed to see less..
Dude, that wasn't speedcore they were playing. They were playing, most likely, a 45-50 hertz tone. They only played it for a second because the amount of air pressure the speakers were making would have ripped the car apart (normal windshields break at about 157dB), while the power system simultaneously caught fire, if they played it any longer. IDK why you thought it was a song sped up really fast, but bass competitions are about loudness, not who can play the low notes of a song really well.
That's loud!
if i was in there i would be like "should i even be in the building if they have to bold the fucking doors on/"
um.... why?
whats this dudes name?
Jon Jon Craig Butler
it sucks that you cant even listen to it in the car like wtf
