I've been to car audio contests and have seen vans like these and they are so well sealed you really dont hear or feel the bass but I assure you it's enough to cause cardiac arrest at that decibel and stop your heart :)

They had to use an impact to seal the door.....that's not a van anymore. It's a pressure vessel on wheels.
There's a reason why the test doesn't sound very loud. In order to achieve sound pressure that high, that van would have to be built like a bank vault to contain it. If the body panels weren't reinforced and allowed to flex, the internal pressure in the van would be lower, and they would get a lower score.
There's nothing misleading about this video. The low thumb score comes from some peoples ignorance on the subject.........and science in general.

Those subs cost 5 grand a piece and he’s got 6. That’s 30k right there. Subs are the cheapest part of audio. Next is amplifiers and then electrical. I’m sure he has atleast 150 grand into the vehicle.

Truth brother that was the lamest shit I've ever seen. My sub flex video got 10k views cause its a 30 second clip of full send flexing, no bullshit, jusr straight action. Thats what a sub video should be. This is like 3 seconds of 40hz. The equipment is probably about the cost of a starter home. Throw on some Jeezy bro. I'm just saying 15 year old me would of died to hear put on, on this shit. Eminem's Darkness hits hard too

I remember an older gentleman who was at a outside competition and he brought in a small vehicle which he had to bolt the doors down for a record for a single 8in sub. I bet in his ride the new updated heavy hutters would blow that away given the advancements in his vehicle just replacing the 8 with a new one and upgrading the amp.

140 decibels, equivalent to a gunshot blast, jet plane take-off at close range [approximately 200 feet], air raid siren [any length of exposure time is dangerous and is at the threshold of pain], 180 decibels, is equivalent to a rocket launching pad at point blank at take off [hearing loss inevitable] Each increase of 10 db multiplies the sound level by 10. 100 db is 10 times as loud as 90 db. 110 is 10 times as loud as 100.

Started out with a nice alpine disc player and a 600 4 chan. with 4 JL 3 ways and a 500 mono and a 8w7 and within 1 month it was all removed and replaced with 2- 1000 watt mono amps feeding 2-12w7s and 4 Boston acoustics Z6s powered with 2 600x2 and a high output alternator and an extra battery, then I realized I was listening to music I hate just so I could hear the bass.. What a waste of money. Now I have 2 giant paper weights.

I would rather watch a slightly modified vehicle hit a 170 than this "vehicle" hit a world record. I'm gonna go out and get a van put a crazy loud system in it just to bolt, steel plate, and rhino-line everything so it is a comp-only ride that isn't able to give demos from the inside. And his own record is 182.4, not 181.1.

  • @derekwall82

how close can u be while those stereos are going at full power? because bass at high enough DB levels can be dangerous to a human body. 181.1 is more than enough to liquefy your ear drums resulting in permanent and full deafness, 198-202DB can kill a person

180db can stop your hear or even perforate the lungs, but that 180bds needs to be in the form of high-energy-impulse noise. You can sit in a LOUD car and go up to 180db with out much trouble (other than being uncomfortable). But going from an ambient db level to 180dbs by means of a high-energy-impulse noise (a bass berp - very suddenly) the SPL shock wave can do bodily harm. Like being hit by a concussive wave from a bomb. THe bombs doesn't have to hit you to kill you, the SP wave can do it.

Dude, that wasn't speedcore they were playing. They were playing, most likely, a 45-50 hertz tone. They only played it for a second because the amount of air pressure the speakers were making would have ripped the car apart (normal windshields break at about 157dB), while the power system simultaneously caught fire, if they played it any longer. IDK why you thought it was a song sped up really fast, but bass competitions are about loudness, not who can play the low notes of a song really well.
