Ive been listening to this song since i was a kid.. ive never been able to dedicate this song to anyone.. i was married i have two kids, my wife had an affair and we divorced.. finally after everything ive been through i met someone that is deserving of this song, i couldnt be happier. Thank you for creating a song that ive tried to strive to follow my whole life, keep rockin!
Okay, I am sure everyone else has already said this: but I was not expecting the singer to look like this brother. Regardless, I just heard the song on the 90s channel on Sirius XM and I like it.
One of the funniest songs ever put out. And it's a three word song to boot! Redford, oozing, Fargo, Carrey, Pavorotti, Crawford, etc. Mention any three and people are bound to know the song real well. Maybe not the exact title.
@peacfulrebel Very true!!!! This band in general are just a bunch of cool guys that love life. Saw them live back in like '02. Got to talk to them after the concert after winning a contest. These guys came across very down to earth. One of my fav 90's/00 bands definitely.
and now for our next song...."DO SHE LIKES ME FOR ME!"...we'd like to play a new song off our latest...."DO SHE LIKES ME FOR ME!"....1,2,3 She Likes me for me!!!
wow! that was surprising! he's black? I like their performance, I want to see them perform "standing at the edge of the earth" in live.. BLESSID UNION OF SOULS rock!!!
I've liked this song since the 90s but apparently I never looked up the band because I am SHOOKETH that the singer is a black man. No shade but he sounds so white. OMG at this performance though. He still has pipes!
this song is great. but someone cant keep tempo. the song started at a great speed then slowed down when drums came in, then in the bridge it felt like it got slower.
No, you are correct, the drummer is dragging and going in and out of time, and its throwing off the guitarist. Guitatrist is then keeping time from the bass…
it's too slow, everybody is out of tune with each other, the drums sound like a garbage can, and the recording in general is terrible. this super thin live recording sound is just a product of the era.
@ E Drew Are you freaking serious? "a poor man's Darius Rucker?" WHAT THE HELL is wrong with you? His voice and style is NOTHING AT ALL like Rucker's. My god, the only thing they have in common is that they are/were both black frontmen for rock groups and both are now bald. Musically they are NOTHING alike. Nothing at all. Ya racist.
Great song but the sound that guitar is making just got my ears bleeding... What's more the guitarist makes a major chord in the refrain which should be minor... Not trying to be fastidious, the video is awesome and that singer is as good in concerts as he is in the records, but there's simply nothing I like in that guitar.
Haha, 11 years later.... Agree 100%. Is that the original guitarist?? He plays the major voicing over and over and over again... Maybe the producer redid the guitar part after they wrapped the recording and he never realized he's been playing in the entirely wrong key. 😂
Damn this sounds really good 20 years later!!!
How are these guys not bigger. I could never tell you
I can.. because the guy believes in his faith and probably didn’t sign his soul away for money.. he’s talented with integrity.
You can always tell when the lead gets in a stance like that and moves the way he’s moving, that they’re in the zone 👏

He still sounds incredible
Still a banger in 2024
Such a great band. One of my favorites from the 90s
I was working at night club in Utica..then they performed..that was great
Sounds so good live
He's still got it
i'm a teen.&i'd have to say this old people rock or adult rock is pretty good. :)
I'm nostalgic for the '90s...
Bring back the 90s any day!
Still awesome today!!!!
great live vocalist, and awesome energy
Killed it! still a great song!
omfg I love this song so much more now.

Amazing live recording. Just verrry fucking good. Holy shit!

That's a great band
Still love these guys! I like you for you!

what a performance.

Such a great performance!!
sadly i cant find a live video of em singing "standing at the edge of the earth" which is for me is their best song :3
classic 90s song
I finally understand the line "not because I look like Tysen Bedford" Somethings cant be explained by just listening to a song on a radio.
My teenage years 😢😢😢😢
and now for our next song...."DO SHE LIKES ME FOR ME!"...we'd like to play a new song off our latest...."DO SHE LIKES ME FOR ME!"....1,2,3 She Likes me for me!!!
I remember seeing these guys when I was little my mom angel got yo go on the tour bus with them
Yep!
Thats Just Great !
I miss the 90's and my youth...lol
Is it a bad thing I was really happy to see this pop punk singer was black? Man. Fuckin rock out bro.
The Singer most definitely is a Kai Greene doppelgänger from another dimension
WOW!
Monster chorus
Hell oh yeah he rocks
wow... He looks so different without Hair!
Needs more harmonica solo
Blues traveler my seed
@TimFurmanMusic2 still around, seeing as this wasn't recorded that long ago.
I so always did!
music is music does not matter about skin or race.....just enjoy an awsome song :)
Kicking ass
i like this song very much5x.., very cool., xD
wow! that was surprising! he's black? I like their performance, I want to see them perform "standing at the edge of the earth" in live.. BLESSID UNION OF SOULS rock!!!

OMG at this performance though. He still has pipes!
Cuba Gooding Jr.
The key was when he said look like Tyson Beckford (Black Calvin Klein model)
Win!
🙌🤘
@SsooFfetch hahah...this hasn't always been old people rock. In the 90s this was the good stuff. No music era will beat the 90s. ever.
1 fine base player that's my boy right there
Bass
Can I ask where that show was?
Yeah. His name was steve
where are they now?
The guy playing lead guitar - Bryan Bilheimer - is an online guitar teacher at Center Stage Guitar Academy.
this song is great. but someone cant keep tempo. the song started at a great speed then slowed down when drums came in, then in the bridge it felt like it got slower.
No, you are correct, the drummer is dragging and going in and out of time, and its throwing off the guitarist. Guitatrist is then keeping time from the bass…
Am I the only one that thought the lead singer was a white guy? 🤷♀️ love this song! Such a throwback.
Yeah, but who is this 'she' he sings of? haha.
Great song. Great Band.
Teens were supposed to know who that is?
That Guitarist looks like Kevin Richardson of BSB
@wheretube i thought he was white until he said he looks like Tyson Beckford but he is black
I didn’t know Cuba Gooding Jr was in a band😂
0:52 I think the Bass player was sleeping
+Knob Job Nah. If you recall in the actual song there's a sound effect at that point, so they just skipped it, lol
I love this song, such a great 90's tune. But I like the live version on their latest live album Live at Never on Sunday much better than this.
ME LIKE TO BEAT THE MEATTTT!
like a small town band with a singer.
why does it matter?
man he looks so much better bald, he should of rocked that look when they first got hype
HAHAHAHA
you're beautiful
The singers a black guy? :O always thought it was some pastey white teenager
He used to rock dreds
Same 😂 the Tyson Beckford lyrics makes so much sense now. And the 90s R&B feel of “I Believe”.
Well it'd be a pasty white middle-aged white guy by now anyway; this song was released almost 20 years ago.
No, just a bald, aging, ashy-skinned black boy.
Hell fuckin ya. What a badass.
lol, I never knew the singer was black. I always thought he was a chubby white guy from the sound of his voice.
Just missing the harmonica
He definitely grew up in a white neighborhood.
guys...he said he looks like tyson beckford
Actually he's saying he doesn't
I thought the first line gave it away......" I look like Tyson Beckford."
Is it just me or does this sound a little out of time? Still awesome though!
it's too slow, everybody is out of tune with each other, the drums sound like a garbage can, and the recording in general is terrible. this super thin live recording sound is just a product of the era.
aww no more dreads
LMAO, guess I'm not the only one who assumed he was white! xD
no harmonica solo wtf no sale
@ E Drew
Are you freaking serious? "a poor man's Darius Rucker?"

thumbs sooo up because I thought he is white!!
Why, because he's articulate?
guitar too loud in the mix
I kinda like it...RoCkS❗️But I see what you’re sayin’...
No hate, but I had NO idea the lead singer was black all these years! Lol.
Good Lord I thought the lead singer was a white man..😆😆
He's like a poor man's Darius Rucker!
Wtf. The singer I s black???
the guitar sucks in this live version of the song.

@@jiffey_faux Haha thank you for replying to this comment! Man, I was harsh, I've become much more lenient over the years!
@@CugnoBrasso Very fair! In 11 years, maybe someone will reply to my comment and I'll think similarly. Those were definitely major chords, though :)
Yikes. Always thought this was a band like smash mouth or something. Christian band makeover lols.
