    Thank you. I wish more builders would do this.

    It was so nice to find a van conversion that took into consideration EMF safety. Thank you for sharing.

    This is a beautiful build! You gave us so many great ideas that we may borrow for our van build-out.

    Excellent work!
    I’m starting to looking into van conversions and I was wondering why no one was addressing the EMF radiation?
    If you can share, what would be the percentage increase to add the EMF protection in a custom conversion?

    Beautiful design. Reassuring to see the low/no magnetic field emissions. Would be helpful to mention that radio wave EMFs are emitted from cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, and location services on phones.

      Very good point! Thank you. We purposly put in battery monitors and Solar charge controllers that were not Bluetooth.

    Another happy customer!
    I wonder how much that steel plate above the electrical compartment shields the area above it from EMF. Does it completely eliminate it? Does EMF escape to the side?
    A great idea. This can be called a “healthy van”.

    • @ErikLokkenNRVC
      @ErikLokkenNRVC  2 роки тому

      Thanks John. Actually, the stainless-steel sheet behind the counter was an aesthetic choice. The shielding is done with the shielded wire and the metal face plate on the electrical box.

    Can you say why you didn't check the EMFs when the lid was closed?

    God, why can't I find anyone in Europe who understands these concepts?

    I just stumbled upon your channel looking into doing our own camper van. Anyway your audio is a little rough. I highly recommend investing in a very simple wireless lav system. Rode has a great one that can work with smart phones or cameras with mic inputs. Trust me when I say, audio is half the experience when watching a video. Your builds are awesome.

      you kind of missed the point of this video, huh? I have both the DJI and the Rode Wireless Pro for work, and I would NOT recommend them to anyone who cares about limiting their EMF exposure and does a lot of recording. They are off the effing charts. A wired one without bluetooth, etc. would be much preferred.

    Not liking the bed base arrangement and why put inverter under the bed??

  • @hawkcathy
    @hawkcathy 2 місяці тому

    I see someone else asked this and there was no response. What is the EMF reading from the inverter and battery compartment with the lids shut? I was surprised to see that you didn’t take those readings because the whole point of the video was to show how to reduce EMFs and you didn’t show how much of a reduction there was by closing the cabinets with the stainless steel to see that it really does actually block the EMFs.

    • @ErikLokkenNRVC
      @ErikLokkenNRVC  2 місяці тому

      Sorry i did not get those readings, It was significantly less. The van is out on adventures witht the owners and I no longer have access to it. To summarize what i have learned on EMF reduction. Have the AC inverter on a switch and only turn on the AC inverter when you need to use it. Use 12v DC for everything you can for a power source. It is very time consuming and expensive to shield everything AC related.

    Have you checked EMF with the vehicle engine running? They will be spending a lot of time driving. I'm just curious how well the manufacturer has done, which I assume will vary with brand & options. Alternators produce AC voltage that is then rectified to DC. Non-diesel engines may also have spark plug wires that are very high voltage.

      I just bought a ford transit trail and I didn’t realize the dual batteries are under the drivers seat! I’m chemically sensitive and emf sensitive, I’m going to build it out very simple and safe but what can I do to neutralize emfs while driving??

    How can you get electricity from a solar panel without an inverter? sorry about the ignorant question

    • @ErikLokkenNRVC
      @ErikLokkenNRVC  2 роки тому +4

      We use a solar charge controller that converts the solar energy to the batteries, so the inverter does not need to be on. Good question though. I should have tested the solar charge controler for emf with the van outside when the solar is working.

  • @WexWorld
    @WexWorld 3 місяці тому

    Do the batteries create EMF too? Or is it just the inverter, really?

    • @ErikLokkenNRVC
      @ErikLokkenNRVC  2 місяці тому

      Just the Inverter. The DC batteries and system i put in has no EMF but unfortunatly the vans do when they are running. I may do a follow up video on that,
