This actually looks very cool. People will be turned off by it being an extraction shooter but it seems like its done well here with some interesting team play and playground elements
The extraction elements (and the revive feature!!) Make it feel much more like an open world survival game than an extraction one. The mechanics are stupid fun and the looting isn't invasive. You don't even have to loot static stuff unless you truly want to, because you can find so much good stuff at pvp events and the like. I'm a fan boy. Sad it has an NDA right now
Hello one of those people, I really don't get the appeal of gambling with your loot, Like bad day on Battlefield? all good you lost nothing but patience, extraction shooters just kick you when youre already down from having lost a match IMO (yes ive played a few and just always feel 10x worse when I lose a match than in other genres)
@@Geejay412 the foundation of gambling is that you have to lose to win. When the price of losing is enough to hurt, the rush of victory and overcoming a challenge is the core of a game like this. It's ok to prefer other game styles. I'm just a fiend for that moment where you are left standing, surrounded by corpses, held together with nothing but hope, and somehow you make it out with the spoils. No guts, no glory!

This literally has EVERYTHING I mentioned Off The Grid needed: I suggested better AI, destructible environments and a more grounded and weighty feel, and this game seems to have all of that. Definitely on my radar.

For me, it's because players can kill you for no reasons, steal your hard earned stuff, etc, that I don't like extraction shooters. Players are often very toxic and sweaty. It's just not my kind of games, I'm more of a PvE guy

Just move on and use my time looking for games I'd like. But there are those intentionally throwing strays, not towards the haters, but to those outside the bubble and for that I will gladly clap back.
At this point the only thing I hope this does well is being optimized for midrange hardware. Too many unreal engine 5 games these days require a top spec GPU to be playable.

When you are set on 3rd Person view, your model animations have to be on point! I think The Division spoiled that for me, the game had a lot of flaws, but none of them were model animations... The storm really makes a big difference on how you see your surroundings. Mainly your perspective or your camera view. Makes it difficult to see clearly 👍
The only thing I've noticed that might need improvement is the looting system. On warzone the when the loot drops from a player, it drops in a circle formation to make it easy for loot. This might be good to do the same for this game.
It's crazy that if this game released a few years ago you'd be blown away, but there are so many FPS BR/extraction shooters now it's 'just another' one. These games built in UE5 all look amazing but all have a very similar look, don't they. I guess we'll see how it shapes up!

Exoborn looks amazing! it reminds me of The Serge only in the expect of using Exos and that its a post apocolyptic future. though The Surge is mainly a Souls like game, this game here takes a new approach to Exo Suit usage.

I'm shocked that when reading the comments I didn't see the most obvious comparison. This game is if you turned Just Cause 4 into a fairly serious multiplayer extraction shooter. Right down to grappling, and parachuting into a tornado. Hell, even being able to control the weather with towers. Lol. Not knocking it. I love the Just Cause series so I'm diggin' this game quite a bit.

Just my two cents as to why I personally got burnt on extraction shooters. I like the theory and idea of extraction shooters, but I realized that it boiled down to one main problem for me. Cheaters/Hackers. Extraction shooters seem to be magnets for two kinds of cheaters that ruin the game. The tryhard cheaters, who want easy wins and/or are too lazy to actually earn gear/loot properly. And the troll cheaters who specifically go in to ruin others fun since they know extraction shooters are high risk high reward. The era of streaming an youtube clips compound this, as cheaters will specifically target streamers/youtubers to farm rage. Anti-cheat will obviously never be 100% effective, but it is the biggest problem for extraction shooters specifically. If I run into a cheater or a suspicious player on a game like CoD or battlefield, the worst punishment I will recieve for leaving the match is a Win/Loss record deduction. I tried Tarkov and Hunt along with multiple other PvPvE extraction games, but there mere suspicion that my 30+ min match and decent gear was taken away by a cheater drastically reduced my incentive to keep playing. As much as PvE only Extraction games are clowned on by the hardcore extraction genre fans, when I die in a PvE extraction match I know that it was mostly fair (disregarding things like bugs or glitches). End of the day, I sincerely hope the fans of the extraction genre enjoy their games. But currently if a game is in the extraction genre I just save myself a future headache and skip it.

LOVE 3rd Person shooters ... GETTING DEMOLISHED in Off the Grid though ... Could be just me getting older. But the flying squirrel, Jet Pack, Automaton Rat Race is quite hard to keep up with. I wish the next Battlefield was 3rd person. We need a NexGen 3rd Person TACTICAL Shooter like Ghost Recon, or NexGen PUBG!
