Once again, a wonderful episode !! That's great, thank you so much !! "Are you ready to go ?" "I don't know" "Yeah, me neither" !! I'm not going to forget this one.
My father had a motor yacht, more than 50 years ago. It had a clinker built. gaff rigged, loose footed, rowing/sailing dingy as a tender. It was even equipped with a Seagull outboard. Built by Dickies in the UK and probably an apprentice piece at the yard when the yacht was built in the 1930's. I taught myself to sail on that dingy and have had a love of the water ever since. I often wonder what happened to her? I called her Molly for no reason that I can remember. How I would have loved to have explored some of those sheltered Swedish waters on Molly when I was a boy. Good luck with the dingy project👍.
Another beautiful video. It will be a sad day when you say a final goodbye to Magic Carpet. I love how Aladino (sp?) has come out of his shell over the years, and now allows us to see his goofy side. He was so tight-lipped and serious in the beginning. Your videography has also changed and improved over the years. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing what the new dinky dingy looks like.
Every time I see Magic Carpet I'm blown away by the quality of the varnish work. Few boats can match it. I hope whenever you see her again it will still be looking as pristine.
Fantastic. All swedes should be thankful for the loving depiction of our west coast. Hope to see you in the east coast one day. 30 000 islands is uniquely and that is only around Stockholm. Warmed welcome . :)
You Guys are going to have to get used to lots of "Hello`s and Goodbye's" all part of life`s Great Journey.... So many things to look forward to, and new adventures to undertake..... I look forward to seeing where life takes you... Bless you Both.... :-))) xxxx
Long time sailor 40 plus years in the boat business. Now still traveling only in a diffrent format. Love you guys and I can hardly believe even with a sauna waiting that you jumped in the cold water.

Everytime I watch your videos, I'm astonished by the glossy mahogany on your boat! I can't help focusing on this "glassy" wood, it has such beautiful patterns. Achieving a perfect result like this demands an amount of work that is far beyond standards. I presume you must be very proud of what you have done! I'm waiting to see the outcome of Magic Carpet II . Greatings from France.
I really enjoy seeing your refit making progress. But I can also understand Maya. It must be extra-hard to return to a rat-race-project after such a summer! Thank you for sharing those often calm moments in Sweden. From a video standpoint your vids are getting technically better - but it was always and will always be the texting, voice and approach of Maya that makes your videos so special.
Dear ones, how beautiful it is to watch you, how beautiful it is to follow the pictures that you "write"/describe.... But what is that?! MAGIC CARPET is abandoned, abandoned, left behind?? - Everything's ok! - I wish you all the best with MAGIC CARPET II, every success with the restoration, the splashdown and the following trips and I hope to see many more videos of your adventures; In a few days I'll finally be on the road too!
After watching your channel for the past 3 weeks, what I enjoy the most is your "no drama" atmosphere. It's informative, it's organised, serene, and peaceful to watch. Your both very talented, and catching up is going to be fun, you have quite a bit of videos, I've enjoyed all that I've seen so far. Good Luck on your "thingy" project. See you next week.
I'm constantly amazed at the incredible work Alideno (sorry if I misspelled his name) did on Magic Carpet. He is a true Master Craftsman! Maya is also several kinds of artist. You're an awesome couple!
Magic Carpet is such a beautiful sailboat and both of you have kept her looking beautiful ... and both of you are beautiful inside and out ... I love to listen as you describe what is happening in the videos ... I have enjoyed every video ... thank you both for many glimpses into your world ... just beautiful all of it ... thank you so much ...

Great to see your trip sailing in my native Sweden, my mother used to spend summer in Mollesund and during the time I went to university we sailed extensively around the Swedish and Danish coasts in a Nordisk Folkboat. I moved to Canada after university and sailed on my 26 ft Thunderbird along the BC coast from Vancouver to Prince Rupert. We live now in Ontario and sail with our Catalina 28 Mk2 in the North Channel. I smiled when you described "Filmjolk", it is typically a breakfast meal with sugar and cinnamon. 10:15am. 5/16/23….have been away and now catching up on videos. Have been watching since the beginning….I was surprised by the feeling of sadness when you left Magic Carlet
We have left our boat in Trinidad, Ireland, Scotland, Norway, and now Denmark it’s always sad to leave her at the end of the season. By the way nice varnish work.
I grew up on the islands just north of were you were sail in Norway. For me it was the best place in the world to have spent my childhood. I now live in the U. S. Watching your videos brought back old memories.
Over the last two or three weeks I have followed your summer adventur from the Nederlands to Sweden. It been amazing. In my childhood and teens I have been sailing in a lot of the same places you visited i Denmark and Sweden. I grew up in Struer in the bottom of Venø Bay and did a lot of sailing in the Limfjord. And most of our summer holidays where spend in Sweden. Seeing your videos realy brought me back to that time and those happy memories - thank you so much! Best regards Lars
A lovely end to your Swedish Summer. Maya, as you prepare to return to the boatyard I hope that you can find a way to reset your mindset. I understand that it's not your happy place and that it's a very hard slog. You made a number of comments about not looking forward to it. It's like coming to a curve a little too fast. If you look down the road to where you want to go you will probably be fine. If you look at the tree by the side of the road you will most certainly end up wrapped around it. Of course it's easy for me to say this with my decades of additional experience and because its not me doing all that fairing and sanding. Wishing you both the very best in this next"season" of your journey. I'm grateful that you share a with us.
Epic! A grand send off to both and we truly appreciate your hard work and persistence. The anticipation of your cold water plunge was unique as you both are in life. Pray, your flight to Washington is safe, will be waiting in anxious anticipation for the next video. God Bless you both, so breath taking.
Thanks for a great video for me its much of a feel good film. So nice that you liked Sweden. Next time (if there will be any next time in Sweden) you might want to sail at the east coast where you find the “Skärgård” because you loved the western part of Sweden I think you would love the “skärgård” at least as much. There are so many islands in a relatively small area hench you can find a new place to explore every day. In a windy day you stay in the part near the mainland and when its less wind you go out to the most remot part where the island are small and low without much of vegetation. There are even free sauna to enjoy 😊
Thank you for sharing your summer in the waters i call home. It has been a wonderful reminder of how great the summer can be, which is often hard to remember during the dark Swedish winters with no sailing. Following your exploits, seeing Bohuslän with your eyes and your wonderful photography has been a real treat. Watching your videos I have travelled back to the times ive been passing the same spots and visited the same islands. It has truly warmed my heart. Thank you so much for this treat and the very best of luck on your future adventures.
:D wonderful to see you both in Sweden. I live in Gothenburg. That place where you bought the herbs, I think that was Henån. In that small municipality you will find one of the worlds foremost boat building schools. I learned boat building there in the 90ties. Many of the students there goes on to work at Hallberg-Rassy, Najad and other boatbuilders on Orust. Hope to one day when my full pension comes in to do what you both do :D Wish you everything good in the world, much Love

Thank you for this beautiful and relaxing journey in Scandinavia. By the time this last video has been uploaded, you've been working on Magic Carpet II for months. I hope everything is going smoothly for you both and you will eventually be able to launch your boat this year, as expected. I'm now looking forward to watch the dinghy series!
I LOVE your channel. Thank you for doing what you do, waiting out winter here in upstate NY and getting my little sailboat, Natural Mystic in the water.
Magic Carpet is going to make someone a wonderful boat to own.your work on her is incredible but I’m looking forward to seeing the St. George completed and sail in blue water ! Fair winds ⛵️
My first visit to your channel. Magic Carpet is such a beautiful girl. I absolutely love the wood finishes. You were right about all the views at the sauna. I big hello from your newest subscriber in St.Louis Missouri USA I will be waiting for your next video. Well done!
When it comes to vthe videos, you keep outpreforming yourself time and time agien! Outstanding picturesss from the coast of sweeden. Im exited for the new boat, and for the dingy!
I saw the title of this video, "Goodbye, Magic Carpet" and immediately thought, yet another clickbait title on a sailing channel where they get your attention by pretending they are quiting. Wow, was I wrong. You actually are saying goodbye to MC1 and moving on to MC2. Your video making skills are amazing. I am now subscribed.
As always the way you two, or both of you (y'all) a slang used in the south of US. I'm in Corpus Christi, TX. The 5th largest Port in US. Also it's the 8th largest city in Texas. This far South in the United States I have come to love the feel of small, as folks around here come here to reach something fun to do. Gaining perspective and the 👀 to appreciate what's enough and the extremes to much or 👁️ lacking. Your travels and the pause to be productive each in there special ways. No small thing a Dingy
Soo cool that you are on Bassholmen of all places! My first time sailing was right there. I was maybe 10 years old and got to borrow a boat from a girl on the island. She asked me if I could sail, "of course" I said but I had no clue. After a while I got the sail up on the boat and off I went! I was never able to turn back so my cousins father had to row out to get me. This was about 30 years ago. Fun to see that this place still exists!
I spent summers on Flatön, Svartevattnet. My brother and I sailed around in the waters of Orust, Flatön and Gullmarsfjorden whe n we were kids. So great to see this from your videos, bringing back great memories. Thanks for your very nice videos. Looking forward to next week! /Hans
Hi Perhaps the time has come to move the Cape George to Canada where you won't be chased by visa hassles. I've lived in both Steveston BC and Port Townsend, and love them both but for different reasons. Finnish glassing and painting the decks and bulwarks, install the cap rails and chainplates, and the rest could be finished in a plastic boat shed without the perfect boat shop you now have. I lived in a garden apartment just across the street from a little fish boat yard on the Frazer. Nicest location I've ever lived at, and not particularly expensive by Vancouver standards. Perfect if one wanted to work on the boat and the other ride the Metro to a film production school.
I have enjoyed your summer. I am about to get my own Boat, when finances settle down I will become a patron. But your relaxing pace is so nice and magic carpet so Beutiful.
Maya, I get your nervousness about the load of work ahead, but with the two of you tackling it, I have not a doubt that it will be done in your usual charming, efficient, fascinating way. Were all rooting for you and looking forward to sharing the adventure.
You guys are really something. I have been watching from the beginning. You're the best. Love your boat, your music, and your relentless drive. Many thanks.
Hi, no violin this time, I hope you didn't leave it behind as it adds a different dimension to your videos. I enjoy listening to you play, especially when you play with nice scernery around you. Good luck for the next few months with your rebuild. If lived a bit closer I would offer my services but living in New Zealand thats not so easy. Cheers Ian
A beautiful ending for your summer break. Re future plans and recording prowess, I wonder if you have seen Sailing Uma's latest video which shows their incredible electronics system for keeping everything as safe as they can. Looking forward to seeing you get Magic Carpet II on the water and the process to get it there. Wishing you all the best.
There’s this beautiful longing satiation in this episode… like the feeling you get at the end of an eventful summer, you know it’s ending, and you kind of miss it already, but you know that the adventure will continue sometime soon. Thank you for sharing this 💜
What impresses me is how neat, and orderly things are aboard your boat. Given one day on mine, and I'll have a mess that would embarrass a packrat.
Once again, a wonderful episode !! That's great, thank you so much !! "Are you ready to go ?" "I don't know" "Yeah, me neither" !! I'm not going to forget this one.
I’m not crying. You are!
Not crying ..! 😬
My favourite line from the episode too. Glad you brought it up.
I am feeling very sad at the least.
Yeah, that hit me in the feels too!

Wow what a beautiful country!
My brother and I sailed around in the waters of Orust, Flatön and Gullmarsfjorden whe
n we were kids. So great to see this from your videos, bringing back great memories. Thanks for your very nice videos. Looking forward to next week! /Hans
Hi
Perhaps the time has come to move the Cape George to Canada where you won't be chased by visa hassles.
Wishing you all the best.
wonderful thx that much...Greetings from the city of Bonn, Good luck for your new projects...Shalom, Michael
Nice episode. I'm very impressed by the condition you are leaving Magic Carpet 1 in, the cabin wood shine so nicely.
Wonderful episode, really enjoyed the Scandinavian summer!!
There’s this beautiful longing satiation in this episode… like the feeling you get at the end of an eventful summer, you know it’s ending, and you kind of miss it already, but you know that the adventure will continue sometime soon. Thank you for sharing this 💜
Wow - that was so beautiful in Sweden. It was just dreamy. I bet you hated leaving it. But upward and onward.
