What a marvelous storyteller Malik is. Thoroughly enjoyed hearing anecdotes of Karrpal which the public are not privy to. Still missed by many our hero of Malaysia even after 10 years. I still remember my first encounter when he totally mesmerized the crowd in a rally in Penang. My grand dad took me to my first ever rally in the early 1980s and Karpal was the star that night. I would say that was how my interest in Malaysian politics was sparked. Like many Malaysians, my whole family has the deepest respect and admiration for him and his premature death was a blow to us. Although we only know him from afar, his deeds run deep. He s a legend in the eyes of many and I hope to see another like him in this lifetime.
