I watched it in White House, Tennessee and the weather was absolutely perfect. It was the most incredible natural thing I've ever seen. I'll never forget the solar eclipse of 2017.
I remember when the eclipse happened, i was on maternity leave after having my daughter on August 1st of that same year and i remember being so excited to watch this event hough I couldn't watch the eclipse from outside.
This remains the best eclipse coverage on YT because the team coordinated interviews, transition shots of the sky and reactions of folks as-it-happened.
October 14, 2023 will be our (the whole United States’) next visible annual solar eclipse, and a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 for the US, as well. Looking forward to them both as the one in 2017 was an pretty cool event to see with friends and family.
Thank you for this live stream! I think it was the best one I saw. The weather channel was a little bit boring and CNN started really late... Great job guys! :D
We had the partial too north and east of Philadelphia. There were scattered clouds but the sense of the sky darkening was unmistakable. It felt like being inside an enormous tent. A robin flew down from a tree and hopped around just in front of my feet for 30 seconds or so and it seemed a little disoriented. I'm beginning to think and hope that I'll be around for the eclipse in '24. Best wishes.
Erikk12: We here in southeastern Pennsylvania were in the outer arc. The light changed, it dimmed a bit like dusk had suddenly fallen and it felt much cooler. I was out in our backyard and a robin swooped-in and landed right near my feet. The robin seemed confused as to what was going on and it hopped away; or it went 'bob, bob, bobbin' along'.
Those two people in the end of the video talking to Brad Mielke made me think that they packed a lot of things when the girl said 12 hours from the camping area back to where they live in Texas, all of the stuff they packed probably saved them time for when the hurricane happened. Hope they ok.😊😊
Seeing the 2017 total solar eclipse makes me think about daytime to nighttime, from AM to PM on the fastest rate possible. Then from 1 to 2 minutes, at the end of totality, it often goes from nighttime to daytime, from PM to AM on the fastest rate. Good thing we're in Orlando, Florida to see the solar eclipse.
i remember getting a book with eclipse shades for Eclipse 2017. Too bad it rained though lol, i was able to see it much better for 2024’s Eclipse even though it was very cloudy
My wife and I watched it in Barber Park in Montrose; not that far from Flint. Even though it was only a partial eclipse, it was still amazing. In 2024, I want to be in the path of of totality, probably somewhere close to Cleveland.
Surprised someone would drive to Oregon from Boston. I live in St Louis, and it went right over my house. Never seen anything like it. The temperature dropped a good 10-15° and birds changed to cicadas and crickets in a split second. Visiting a friend in Indianapolis where there will be full coverage. Praying for clear weather.
Omg I remember my 3rd grade teacher got some glasses so we could all see it on the first day of school! I was in 3rd grade it was awesome! It feels so long ago though!!!
Total kudos to ABC news--When you watch the coverage of this event from all the other news organizations ( with the same access to all the scientific info), these other networks all missed the boat in terms of the technical as well as the human element of coverage of this event. Not perfect--but a clear winner.
We went ro Hopkinsville Ky for this eclipse and also saw the 2024 eclipse in Ohio. The 2024 eclipse was more spectacular because the solar prominences were visible during totality.
I felt pretty bad for the people where ever Ginger Zee was in Nashville, location and timing of that cloud had to be extremely deflating!! It was all about precise location in that city, I saw a few other videos from Nashville where they actually witnessed 100% totality.
The first eclipse in 99 years and then there's going to be another in 7 years! Does it make u think that there might be more to it than just another eclipse? What could it be or what could it mean? Everything happens for a reason. Somebody's in charge of all this?
while everything may happen for a reason that is just a theory and a belief. It is just a scientific coincidence about the timing, but that is just the scientifical way of seeing it
Uh, it began in Lincoln City, Or, not Lincoln Beach. Annoying they kept getting it wrong and even wrote it on the screen wrong. On another note, Salem, Oregon was deemed the best view in the country. It was crystal clear and amazing! ABC missed the opportunity there.
Full turn every 24 hours? Full revolution every 365 days? Listen, if we're using this to teach science, say it how it is: Rotation time: 23 hours, 56 minutes Revolution time: 365.256 days That aside, the shot at @49:50 puts this event into perspective.
Agreed, and the assertion that ‘the moon makes a full rotation around the earth every 31 day’s is also incorrect; one rotation around the earth relative to the sun is actually every 29.53 days.
@@misterspiffy2008 After the last eclipse, I realized just how many of my friends missed the last one and dropped everything to see this one in 2024. On every account, everyone in totality agrees it is life-altering. You feel so small and it puts a lot of things into perspective, especially if you get wildlife afting strangely around you.
I watched it in White House, Tennessee and the weather was absolutely perfect. It was the most incredible natural thing I've ever seen. I'll never forget the solar eclipse of 2017.
This coverage was great. Watched it live and really enjoyed seeing everyone come together in different towns across America to watch the sky.
Love reliving this ... I just had to drive a few miles south in Oregon to see totality. Will never forget.
April 8th 2024 can’t come sooner enough 👊🏾
Six years have passed since this we are one year away from that happening
@@thatweatherman4411 yessir 👍🏾
Hoping to be in the path. Working out the details.
@@TralfazConstruction 👍🏾
@@TralfazConstruction I also live 4 hours away from the Path so I’m going to drive that long to watch the eclipse.
GLOWING IN THE DAAAAARK ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ IM SO PROUD

HEY! !

Nishat Abdin totally! Me too, I freaked out

Just remember when Frank Reynolds said "May the shadow of the moon fall in a world of peace"
October 14, 2023 will be our (the whole United States’) next visible annual solar eclipse, and a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 for the US, as well. Looking forward to them both as the one in 2017 was an pretty cool event to see with friends and family.
It's gonna be the wildest eclipse ever!!!
October 14, 2023....today is the day
Today
In 1979, The Great Frank Reynolds promised that ABC will give full coverage on the solar eclipse then 38 years ago, ABC did 😂😂😂
I waited for 40 years to see 2 minutes of totality
It was totally worth the drive ! Will do it again !
👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you for this live stream!
I think it was the best one I saw. The weather channel was a little bit boring and CNN started really late...
Great job guys! :D
This was on my birthday! Best day ever 💓 ❤️
I'm planning on watching this for the sheer sake of seeing how this differs from Frank Reynolds' news clip on the solar eclipse back in 1979.
It happened when it was my bday and the first day of school ♥️
saw a partial in Pennsylvania earlier today, it was amazing
We had the partial too north and east of Philadelphia. There were scattered clouds but the sense of the sky darkening was unmistakable. It felt like being inside an enormous tent. Start from 2:58:00
This remains the best coverage of The Great American Eclipse on UA-cam more than forty months after the event.
Here in Texas nothing even happened smh

It was partial in Texas. However in 2023 and 2024, Texas will get all the action. Esp. April 8, 2024.
Thank you for posting the full-coverage. I'm nostalgic over The Eclipse already and it's only been five days.
I'm excited about the next solar eclipse in 2024 ☺
What
Yeah it's gonna be in texas with San Antonio and Austin

2:05 this is what we saw in Baldwin Maine
Here in March 2024 watching this. How did I miss this in 2017? 😮 I am in the path this time and I can not wait! 🌒
We can prove how great is the God's creations
I love you guys.
Fun Fact: The Earth only has one Moon and one Sun, so Earth only gets to have one eclipse at any one time
Greenpoloboy3 i didn't know that lol
:) thats cool
brown dog entertainment earth actually 2 moons 1 is just to small to be seen
Greenpoloboy3 fun fact georgia didnt get to see shit :) thats cool
actually, the solar system in which Earth exists is singular, there are many "suns" in the universe, just the closest star to Earth is the sun.
Thank You ABC News!
I saw this eclipse and it was breathtaking.
Carly Simon's song "You're so Vain" should have had alot of airtime today..."To see the total eclipse of the sun"...great song Carly!
She made a mistake there. The eclipse to which Carly referred occurred on July 10 but Saratoga didn't open until July 24th.

I just kinda skipped around in the video and landed on 1:44:40 and was so happy to see bill nye
We missed it in monks corner😓
I felt pretty bad for the people where ever Ginger Zee was in Nashville, location and timing of that cloud had to be extremely deflating!! It was all about precise location in that city, I saw a few other videos from Nashville where they actually witnessed 100% totality.
I was literally 20 minutes east of Nashville and skies were perfect. Thank god we decided to not stay in the city. It was incredible
...camera failed to show the most interesting moment of "diamond" ...good job ....
My school literally ruined a once in a life time. They didn't give me any glasses, we just had to watch it
Were you supposed to get glasses from the school or were you supposed to bring your own?
Ward oo If we brought it, we still wasn't going to go outside
Amazing!!

But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

it's the background track of "Glowing in the Dark" by The Girl and the Dreamcatcher"

I hope the moon doesn't block the sun during the eclipse 😰
