Fact: The drummer (Nick Van Gelder) was "the architect" of the "Jamiroquai Sound" that put them on the map. However, Jay's ego started crashing things from the very beginning... Luckily Zender stuck around long enough for the group to be recognized as "Acid Jazz Purveyors" before he finally got fed up with Jay after the 3rd Jam album ("Travelling Without Moving"). Rest in Peace, Jamiroquai; you guys are now "shadows" of your former selves...
Sad. I'm quite sure drugs had a lot to do with Jason's behavior and mindset, as well. It's just so sad. I love this group, but I do miss the earlier sound.

Van gelder is such a relaxed jazz funk drummer. His legacy is safe. This was Jamiroquai save the planet before 50 Lamborghinis
Why would the singer get in conflict with the drummer? I did not know about that.
Jay's ego in reached Simons Katz guitar. He told him to swap out the brown one for a more classic style as it wasn't as Jazz looking. Jay got way too big headed
This is the best jamiroquai line up. This drummers grove is so much colourful and loose compared to Derek that took his spot.
