I was about to say something similar. My uncle's village, most people don't even have TV, let alone cable to get the broadcast warning. Most people use the internet at their little school, though, so that's at least something of a chance to evacuate even if it's justa portion of their village as you said they use bush planes. Hallucinations happen in your brain, headphones would only serve to isolate the hallucinations and make them easier to hear. *Meaning the hallucinations are actually something being in very close vicinity to you.*
Well that or another (and imo more terrifying) idea. The entity KNOWS that headphones don’t muffle hallucinations, and it muffles itself to compensate and sound like the real world. In other words, the entity is so good at what it does that it literally worsens itself just to seem more real cause humans would be more likely to believe something that is muffled with the rest of the sound around us that we know are real. Now as for why we’re still told to wear headphones, we can block out sound alot more if something is quiet. So if we know it’s a hallucination when it’s unmuffled, and we don’t care normally if it’s muffled, then we know that there is a chance of it successfully distracting the “prey”. As anyone with ADHD would know, even slight noises can distract you. That said, you ask me if I’m more likely to follow a known hallucination (unmuffled) or just a regular sound (muffled), i might be an idiot but I would infinitely rather follow the muffled stuff knowing that it’s less likely to be a trap
Around 1:12:00 you missed a frame after "In more recent years there has been an increase in biological entities" that said "Unstable Fissures can transport humans but most do not survive entry."
i think PW1 is the bad universe. really can’t overlook the ‘hello world’, and i also think the smiley face adds to it, because PW1 is the universe that came off as openly friendly. i think PW2 was trying to warn our universe about what could happen to us, like it happened to them, once entities start coming in and warping our reality, killing us or transforming us into something horrific. maybe a bit of a stretch, but the fact that the second thing PW2 says is ‘are you human?’ gives me the impression that they’re trying to determine if our universe is ‘too far gone’ to see if they can warn us before it’s too late? again, another stretch, but PW1 says ‘WE CANT STOP NOW’ when the universes are connecting. maybe they ‘can’t’ stop because they want this to happen, they want the entities from PW2 to infest our universe and destroy it, which is why PW1 says they will just sit back and watch- because technically, they’re not doing anything apart from letting the inevitable happen. im thinking PW1 is the universe that is purposely connecting ‘bad’ universes to normal ones, to make it spread like a virus, whilst they do nothing. after all, PW1 never connected to our universe, staying stuck on just below 99%, so theyre safe.
You absolutely cooked with this. I think you are 100% right. I didn't even think about the possibility that PW1 made PW2 what they are now. It would also explain Ian Parker saying why all the other universes were silent when the ping first went off. They knew to avoid any contact or were already victim to what PW1 has done.
in “THE SIGNAL” video, i find that it really connects very well to a certain theory known as the “Dark Forest Theory”, that other civilizations are quiet simply because they do not want to be detected by something that poses a much greater threat. ive seen many instances of those two sentence horror stories, the ones that mention sending a signal into outer space and receiving something along the lines of “be quiet, theyll hear you.” i just think its neat
Maybe unrelated but, theres a creepypasta called "The quiet sky" where humanity sends signals into space only for an eldritch god to receive them and come over.
For what it's worth, the "Hello World" messages are a standard part of programming - it's what you make any new program say to test it works, and I can absolutely see it as a "is this thing on?" message
On an entirely different note, "You know my name" and "I initated the first signal/cycle" sounds to me like its talking about biblical lucifer, especially as we've seen the author likes to go for biblical imagery and classical references
@@giligameshno. nope. just no. its a testing phrase for coding languages, being “print “Hello World!”” which as expected, puts that on the screen. get your anime weeb ahh out of here and go do something besides anime for once
the distress call at 51:07 is very terrifying. Imagine all your lab mates being caught in an explosion and having no one else to help you. If this was real, I probably would have screamed as well lmao
It's even worse when you consider the fact that reality was likely breaking apart around him and who knows what he may have been seeing emerging from the epicenter of the bridge between realities
welcome back . its definitely PW1, they probably are the reason PW2 is the way it is and maybe they were going to warn them about PW1. No indications of warnings but PW1 just seems suspiciously nice
I took it as PW1 is also dealing with the aftermath and hated us for it, but now that you say that I think you're right. The fact they're identical to us, the way the ping that reveals all the worlds comes from them, the fact that they said they couldn't stop the connection, it's all VERY suspicious
I like to think PW1 just has more to gain by watching how a world more similar to their's deals with this invasion scenario so they can get estimates of their own chances of survival by apocalyptic parallel invasion. I think we're being used as test subjects...
This reminds me of the Dark Forest Theory, which is essentially that we haven't discovered any other life in the universe because they are purposefully hiding from something, whether that be a more dangerous/bigger civilization or just out of fear for what could be out there.
when a fissure opens you feel a strong sense of fear and dread. maybe that's why the in the deep sea live the person that needs to identify the fishes starts to panic.
True! To me it also sounds like the metal baning sound might be the person themselves banging on the inside of the sub in full panic trying to get out because of the intense fear and dread the fissure caused, rather than something outside banging against the sub. Especially bc the creature with the glowing eyes doesn't seem to be coming from behind it or anything like that.
This is it, the analog horror jungle juice. You have deep sea, strange TV shows, creatures in your house, disastrous experiments, parallel universe portals, emergency broadcast, the moon, and even a game. Its like all the old friends are here but the experience is new, enjoyable, and very well made
It’s fun to think that we are the main untouchable universe, everything and anything that even attempts to contact our universe will dissolve because of how stable we are. We get almost a pocket view of these universes and multiverses as *entertainment* and maybe that was our biggest mistake…
If the version of multiverse theory I like best is true, anything in any fiction from any reality is nonfiction in some other reality or group of realities
What I can't stop thinking about is the very first video and with it. The warning. We were instructed to NOT communicate. That these beings exist behind "doors and windows". I feel like the very notion of trying to communicate was their downfall. PW2 seems more jaded. Prolly due to having communicated with another universe. Most likely PW1. Their response to the 3 picture test. To me, showed the results of communicating. Their world was essentially nuked, their dogs dead or dying (most likely because they can detect said beings) and they themselves are altered as well.
Props to whoever voiced Ian Parker, that distress call was beautifully done! Good VA (and audio in general) makes such a difference in horror series, I had to rewind and listen to that part again because it was so well done.
Same, I can’t bother with a lot of the stuff analog horror series usually do ( hidden videos/captions/frames, whatever ) so having someone find, comment on and explain stuff as it goes is really nice. I can also just listen to the video in the background as I do something else, whereas if I watched the series themselves I wouldn’t understand a thing.
@@SaulSchuster-nt5dm I don't think he noticed that Allakaket, the place mentioned as where a rift between worlds just a couple minutes ago, was the place outside the exclusion zone. To be fair to that, though, I'm surprised I DIDN'T miss that fact.

5:50 I mean, the Anglerfish is CLOSE, but if there's two Anglerfish bulbs that close together, either they're mating, fighting each other(Anglerfish don't fight each other, so if that's what they're doing, you need to fucking evacuate the area, as there's something CAUSING them to fight), fleeing something(you would also need to evac the area, as Anglers are some of the toughest fish, and they don't flee from much), or one mutated Angler(which would also cause need to evac, as if something mutated the Angler, it probably didn't do it in a pretty way, and you're probably next).
@@purple-47 Yeah, exactly. Unless they were fleeing something, but that's unlikely. So, that was probably a mutant anglerfish, or just some other creature entirely(anglerfish don't have pincers).
Male angler fish are also waaaay smaller than the females. They lack lures and when mating will latch onto the female and fuse inter her, becoming nothing more than a living pair of gonads.
Something kinda concerning is that at 40:08 the TV that I was watching this on just… froze… when I paused and unpaused it was normal again but still kinda ironic
What if PW1 was never a world, but this entity that started the cycle? If the three picture test is common with previous PW's, it more than likely chose the most convincing pictures to trick you. Pw2 might be trying to warn us to stop. They know what happens and that's why they already had a machine to connect to us. How else would the be able to connect with us if they didn't already have a machine. Maybe this entity is the creator of the connection device but from another world, and he keeps spreading this knowledge as pw1 to continue this cycle till he found us. Pw2 could be what happens once you fully fall to the abyss... and in the end we will try to stop the next world from making this mistake. Continuing the cycle. This might he why Ian is needed still. He needs to do what pw2 did.
PW2 tried to interfere, yet PW1 refused to stop the connection. It was almost like it was planned. Maybe PW1 did something that resulted in PW2 becoming lifeless? Also, that "Hello world" comes off as a little inhuman...
@sylverrrr Pw2's first question was: Are you human? Maybe they were wary of what pw1 did to not only their world, but all the others in the abyss, and had some foresight to not trust a pw like that again. Also weird that neither pw1 and pw2 asked for pictures FROM this universe to confirm they were normal. Pw2 seems like a normal world that was ruined considering the dead trees, dog, and their distorted forms. I wish they kept in contact. Maybe Arcadia could've been saved.
the creepiest thing about these series is that this story may be practically same with us when we first pinged signals into the space. here they were talking about different dimensions. but in our reality we can talk about other planets and galaxies. there’s the theory of Great Silence of Space. And most likely if you got a reply - it comes from a predator.
Even creepier: there’s also the theory of “the Great Filter”, which puts forth the idea that there is some kind of existential threat that keeps life from continuing further down the Kardashev scale. Basically, there’s some kind of major threat that wipes out all other potential life once it reaches a certain point. Basically, if you don’t receive a response: it’s bad (Great Filter). If you do receive a response: it’s bad (Great Silence)
There’s also a theory called the “Great Filter”, where if you DON’T receive a reply, that means that there is some inescapable cataclysm that keeps life from advancing beyond a certain point. So if you do receive a reply: it’s bad (Great Silence). But if you don’t receive a reply: it’s bad (Great Filter).
New sub here; your content scratches my adhd brain perfectly 😭 I love analog horror but I struggle with it because I usually have to focus on several things at once, so I can't always *watch* and rather mostly listen to UA-cam stuff while crocheting, doing course work for college, etc so thank you for being so descriptive and reading all of the text that shows 😭🧡
I really like this series for exactly the reasons you listed, and especially because of _the real voice actor._ it's so refreshing to hear real voice acting in an unfiction series, even better to see it properly credited and the music credited! so that's just a nice little bonus on top of how the series already rules. big hopes for this one
fun fact, the first messages between PW1 and our world are references to 2 things: -"wow" is allegedly the first message from outer space -"hello world" is an inside joke in programming, were the first thing they teach you is to show the message "hello world!" in a console
small correction. the wow signal didnt actually say wow, however, it was called the "Wow!" signal since when they first discovered it that's what they wrote down.
Anytime I watch Marcus I get a boost of serotonin whenever I look at the whiteboard in the background and it has more drawings or more things on it. Literally my favorite part about watching these
I love how chill it was until we just got the messages about being hostile. It went from a TV show to a life or death situation Dang that many likes. I’ve got this before thank you.
I think it is pw1 as well. And I think they are saying they are going to watch and not help because of what walker did. He tried to end the connection by possibly breaking the machine. I think, him doing that, is what caused the last pulse and opened the universe up to all the rest. And this is all the consequences of his actions of messing up the connection
Ahhhhhhh I was so excited to see this! I went to the Stalker screening when wendigoon was in Florida and I recommended you to soooo many people. So hopefully, it brought new subs!
I can almost guarantee that in the experiment section in The Farm the creator is using infrasound which is indeed increasing your feeling of fear and discomfort. It's often used in horror films. I use infrasound often myself and it can cause almost a feeling like motion sickness for some people. I recognized the feeling immediately because of that sea sickness/motion sickness feeling.
At 6:47 the glowing eye monster fish was chewing on the wire to the sub so it can’t be recalled remember it’s hooked up to a metal wire and then it chewed on the wires so when the sub was rebooted it failed
Huh, kinda reminds me of how Cookie cutter sharks( sharks the size of a man's palm ) were cable of damaging a submarine, mistaking it for a dolphin or other large aquatic animal
1:46:33 that door cracked. That was when the little girl broke the rules and talked to the entity. That camera shot of the door is the entity looking through and telling her to go through the door.
Not completely sure but in the mythical creatures video, I think the face was a toy of some kind, and that the spot higher up in the door was a part of it, the toy being its item of offering
at 1:11:59 theres a message that says "unstable fissures can transport humans, but most dont survive entry" you gotta pause it at the right moment to see it.
I think with the Missing kids, Jack in particular, it might be a Lutese twin situation. Instead of a JACK Miller, there might be a JACKIE Miller. I mean, a parallel world must have differences like that, right?
Thank you so, so much for giving this analog horror series newcomer and UA-cam channel the spotlight. They've been so woefully underrated until now. The sound design comment of praise I made on one of their videos is mine because it stands out so much. It's not just encroaching uncertainty it's cinematic like you said. Cheers to you and chilling abyss!
If we think of it how a parallel universe is depicted usually, then it makes a lot more sense for PW2 to be the “real” one. Sure they talk different, their animals and nature are different as well, but that’s how beings of another universe would likely be. The images from PW1 on the other hand, are the exact same as our own, possibly meaning they are faked to gain our trust. I bet PW2 are the actual good guys, despite their alarming (to us) appearance, trying to warn and aid us against PW1’s deceptions.
they should add a sub series of someone living in those remote areas and experiencing it without knowing what is happening, it would be terrifying to see the planes crash and not know whats going on
So I'm saying this at the end of chapter 1, I'm predicting that PW2 is the aftermath of the "doors opening" and they tried to warn them to stop trying to open a hole between worlds as it would cause more holes to appear.
Also, one day I want an analog horror where the "monster"/anomaly just genuinely wants to make friends and be nice. However their very state of existence is so terrifying to humans that seeing even the smallest sight of them mentally breaks them.
At the end of "THE FARM" you can hear Ian screaming while losing sanity as the abyss spoke to the computer user (Us) Translation: "PLEASE OH GOD HELP ME!!!" And Ian sobs afterwards as there's a glimpse of the abyss entity showing abit & it cuts off Edit: I reedited the translation
Dude I have an idea for a new creature being found in the ocean called “it comes from the deep” and the beginning of this guy’s series is much better than an idea I could come up with 😭
This is giving me heavy Local 58 vibes Edit: after finishing the video, I can confirm it is not in fact like Local 58 at all. Also all of the music in this series is amazing.
I think pw1 is the face AND is responsible for what happened in pw2 (building off of Dreadedgamer23's comment) i think pw1 is also responsible for the mutated anglerfish idea that dreaded had
Out of all the series I’ve watch for you this one is easily the most interesting to me. The multiverse stuff along with the wall that protects everyone! I love end of world stuff so this is right up my ally
Thank you for the bulbasaur blessing! Those random pimples on my skin, telling me to ' Make Them Suffer ' have stopped whispering horrific things in my ear! who know the blessing could do so much.
The signal has to be my favorite episode in any analog horror series to date, its so well done, the dread is great, the implications are terrifying. Reminds me of the dark forrest hypothesis
The Interference part had such a weird background noise of like a ticking clock and it actually made me want to puke. That’s how I know this is the best Analog Horror I’ve ever seen
51:00 I honestly feel really bad for Ian, if not all the scientists in the Bravo lab… sure, most of if not ALL of them might have worked on the parallel universe portal, but, damn. I think I and a LOT of people forget about how much of a tedious and LONG process it is to become a professional scientist, especially when it comes to sci-fi/sci-fi adjacent media, and from what I can tell from his photo and voice, Ian could have been at least a student and at most a recently graduated and hired scientist. Imagine livening half your life as of now, studying and working in a specific field or multiple fields to get a profession that is not only your passion and dream, but could also make the world a better place and save peoples lives, only to have it destroyed in a single day, not even getting a lick of a second to process the loss as you desperately try to call out for help. And if or when the dust finally settles, what can you do? Are your friends, colleagues, teachers, even FAMILY who worked alongside you even alive now? How bad are your wounds? Will you make it? Will HELP even make it? Will help not come at all???
It reminds me of the theory that the reason we can't contact aliens is because they're all hiding from a larger threat while we're out here blasting broadcasts into space and telling everyone exactly where we are.
The first part reminds me of a real life situation but no monsters lmao, there is a live feed where you can see fish and press a button since they are trapped in smth and they cant let them all out at once since predators of the fish are there and might be waiting so the button will send a signal to an operator to open like a door so the fish can be free, it's called Visdeubel which translates to Fish Doorbell in german and i heard thousands of fish get freed every year
I love Arcadia so much. Such a great (anthology?) series and so glad to see it getting attention. I love The Signal. So creepy. My only complaint about it was a funny error on the creator’s part. At the end when the dead universe makes the connection, and attempts to stop it failed, one of the scientists, instead of yelling “NOOOOO!” as his universe is hijacked by entities of death from a sinister mirror universe, and typing something meaningful to the friendly universe, like a warning or a goodbye or something, the scientist decides instead to type out “NOOO!” 😂😂 Like your entire existence is about to be consumed. Everyone you know will either be enslaved or die-best case scenario-so I’d find it more believable if somebody signed off with something like: “We couldn’t stop it. They’re here. May God help us all.” Other than this tiny little hiccup, it’s just excellent lol
I think I realized what was going on there at the end: John Walker from another parallel universe is the one who created the machine that sent out the first signal. However, unlike us, he must have initiated a connection with whatever universe that these anomalous entities come from, and they crossed over to his Earth. They must have also assimilated all life there into the Abyss, which I’m guessing crosses over to the next universe that responds to the signal. I think whatever entity that resides within the Abyss transformed him into the creature he is now to punish him for creating the gateway in the first place, like a personal hell for him so that he can watch as other Earths are consumed. He also seems to want to genuinely help Ian stop the cycle of destruction form continuing, since he answers the questions honestly and doesn’t seem to have a hatred for humanity. Hopefully our Earth here can be the one that stops it in the next episode, but I guess we’ll have to wait for that.
So with the game being shown at 50:40 combined with the statement at 1:21:30 it seems to be a huge refrence to the dark forest theory for the fermi paradox. Which is a REALLY cool idea for an analog horror setting.
I'm embarrassed to say I hadn't checked out this series until today, and it's really quite something! It has elements from many aspects of now classic analog horror, but it really has its own unique spin and the fact it takes place in Alaska is neat. It reminds me a little bit of Gemini Home Entertainment and Greylock, with the mystery of space combined with unknown alien or paranormal entities, plus the scentific logs and good voice acting. Really outstanding cosmic horror.
This series very obviously takes inspiration from Local 58 and Gemini, and I think it does a really good job of making use of already existing concepts built by the previous two. I really enjoy how detailed some phenomenon are explained such as the Fissures, while also keeping things vague and mysterious, like the unknown. Really cool series so far! Finished the video, and here are two things I noticed/theorize. The Forest in The Farm is for sure the forest seen in PW2. Maybe this means John Walker or whatever the voice is, has access to PW2, or maybe they're from PW2. Perhaps like you thought, John Walker was affected differently by the first Fissure, and his body was "lost to the abyss", turning him into a phantom, capable of traveling or viewing other PWs. The "screaming of thousands" are probably those who were caught by a Fissure and transported somewhere in the Abyss, and the barn doors, in my opinion, represent the "doors" of our universe or maybe another universe, for some reason.
Theory; All the universes all all screwed up. The failure of the attempt to stop the connection of the interception from PW2 has doomed the final normal universe. In my opinion, PW1 is the ORIGINAL CATALYST that doomed all of the others. They showed images in the three image test that looked similar to what the other PW’s looked like before they all got corrupted. The forest, the barn, and the crying cave must all be from other PW’s before they were or after they were corrupted. The crying cave must be a place of memories of all the death of everyone who died from all the corruptions of different PW’s. Ian Parker is probably the only hope the PW’s have, but tbh, the thing in The Farm never said anything about a hope to save anyone, especially not their own universe. The mention of the universe in this being the vessel may of been because it is literally the center of all the universes. The dot that shows up in TGAD is most likely a fissure, which shows that a fissure can show up ANYWHERE. Explains how a body fell out of the sky.
The Entity who accepted to answer to Ian Parker said itself they are the strongest and the others are weaker than itself. They said they were once human, they might had been Messengers from others dimensions and ended up lost in an eternal spiral of madness and corrupted beyond the point of turning back, thus becoming one of "Them" It seems The Entities are Shapeshifters with great level of abilites as they can drive crazy and corrupt as well as reaching Earth Television transmittors ( The message which says they will watch without interfering or help )
Alaska is woods, mountains, snow/ice and pockets of civilization. And those pockets of populated areas get smaller and more sparse the further north you go, just like in the 3 territories of Canada.

It would also explain Ian Parker saying why all the other universes were silent when the ping first went off. They knew to avoid any contact or were already victim to what PW1 has done.

them saying are you human, is kind of a way to ask us whether we’re humans just like them or something different.
in “THE SIGNAL” video, i find that it really connects very well to a certain theory known as the “Dark Forest Theory”, that other civilizations are quiet simply because they do not want to be detected by something that poses a much greater threat. ive seen many instances of those two sentence horror stories, the ones that mention sending a signal into outer space and receiving something along the lines of “be quiet, theyll hear you.”
i just think its neat
Maybe unrelated but, theres a creepypasta called "The quiet sky" where humanity sends signals into space only for an eldritch god to receive them and come over.

welcome back . its definitely PW1, they probably are the reason PW2 is the way it is and maybe they were going to warn them about PW1. No indications of warnings but PW1 just seems suspiciously nice
This whole video reminds me a-lot of the Spider-Verse movies which was all about opening up other parallel universe using Spider-Man's DNA
This video feels like somewhat like doctor nowhere. How the things are all different but *kinda* in the same universe?
I took it as PW1 is also dealing with the aftermath and hated us for it, but now that you say that I think you're right. The fact they're identical to us, the way the ping that reveals all the worlds comes from them, the fact that they said they couldn't stop the connection, it's all VERY suspicious
I like to think PW1 just has more to gain by watching how a world more similar to their's deals with this invasion scenario so they can get estimates of their own chances of survival by apocalyptic parallel invasion. I think we're being used as test subjects...
that was also my theory but i think that pw2 was just future earth

I think the line "Welcome to paradise" isnt intended for the player/humans, but instead, whatever entities weasel their way into our world
fun fact, the first messages between PW1 and our world are references to 2 things:
-"wow" is allegedly the first message from outer space
-"hello world" is an inside joke in programming, were the first thing they teach you is to show the message "hello world!" in a console
small correction. the wow signal didnt actually say wow, however, it was called the "Wow!" signal since when they first discovered it that's what they wrote down.

At the end when the dead universe makes the connection, and attempts to stop it failed, one of the scientists, instead of yelling “NOOOOO!” as his universe is hijacked by entities of death from a sinister mirror universe, and typing something meaningful to the friendly universe, like a warning or a goodbye or something, the scientist decides instead to type out “NOOO!” 😂😂
Like your entire existence is about to be consumed. Everyone you know will either be enslaved or die-best case scenario-so I’d find it more believable if somebody signed off with something like: “We couldn’t stop it. They’re here. May God help us all.”

Theory;
All the universes all all screwed up.
They said they were once human, they might had been Messengers from others dimensions and ended up lost in an eternal spiral of madness and corrupted beyond the point of turning back, thus becoming one of "Them"
It seems The Entities are Shapeshifters with great level of abilites as they can drive crazy and corrupt as well as reaching Earth Television transmittors ( The message which says they will watch without interfering or help )
Alaska is woods, mountains, snow/ice and pockets of civilization. And those pockets of populated areas get smaller and more sparse the further north you go, just like in the 3 territories of Canada.
