I feel like this is a bit misleading. This is a very specific sort of 'chip' IE like pringles. The vast majority of the potato chips I've ever ate aren't the sort that come in in tubes, and aren't made from powdered mixes.
I worked in this industry. The same process as shown. Packing line is the most tiring I guess.. endless chips coming nonstop for 24h unless we're changing the flavor. Need to be fast since chips got their blank period either go to canned or to be dumped. No recycle chips. Pros is you can taste every flavor while packing (oc without your supervisor knowledge). Weighing and packing are the most fun part, we either gave the max per can or be stingy .. but it is the most tiring jobs.
The shape of actual Pringles is actually a "hyperbolic paraboloid" not just a concave oval like these chips. the Hyperbolic Paraboloid has a much stronger structure, and leads to less cracked chips in the can.
Food Insider: You really should have put “How Pringles Are Made” instead of “How Potato Chips Are Made.” That’s only because most people called Pringles just that, whereas we (Americans) call potato chips (Lay’s, Frito’s, etc.) chips. Just chips. Nothing special. I really like how UK calls them “crisps” instead of “chips.” I actually like “crisps” better than I do “chips.” However, I do know that not everyone is American. It was just a thought. 🤷♂️
It’s not even potato it’s just powder 😱 my whole life it a lie
Same :/
Just Pringles are like that.
All the Chips in bags are real potatoes

Anyone else wonder how machinery like this is made, or is it just me?
I often have wondered how a lot of automated machines were made.
Because 2d and 3d machine can run in program....logic is simple
Mmm, I love stackable chips. This process is also cool!

OMG i was watching this and my mum came home with pringles lol
Me eating Pringles while watching this: nice *grabs another chip while watching*
how i wish i could unsee this
This is straight from how it’s made
The shape of actual Pringles is actually a "hyperbolic paraboloid" not just a concave oval like these chips. the Hyperbolic Paraboloid has a much stronger structure, and leads to less cracked chips in the can.
Are you serious?
Thank youu
Cant beat wedges and fries
That's a lot of work for a $1.33 can of chips

0:44 are all Pringle knock offs
4:31 now that looks like a toll plaza
I would appreciate chips after this
Sparkling water it is we guess or we imagine it is always sparkling to make the best chips happen in this manner like this.
How POTATO chips are made. Starch + flour + water. LOL

Once you pop you can't stop
Before Brits even try, they're chips not crisps. Fight me.

The law in the USA these have to be called "Potato Crisps", "Potato Chips" are from cut potatoes.
Best thing to watch when stoned
How do they find brands we’ve never herd of?
*The Story of My Life*
i love how there off-brand pringles
yummy
They shouldn't even call it potato chips just call it cornstarch and powder chips
Did you know that math formulas are behind the shape of a chip! It allows the most chips to be stacked up in the cylindrical tube!
Plot Twist: Literally none of the products shown in the video are legally allowed to classify the product as a potato chip
I’ve seen this somewhere..🤔?
PRINGLES BOOTLEG!!?
Ive never heard anyone call pringles potato chips
Stolen video from HowItsMade
Read the description...
k
O wait she gave credit nvm
That’s part of Insider.
Those aren't potato chips, they're Pringles' dried mish-mash.
That's how Pringles makes 'crisps', ask Lays® how to make Chips
Wait a min, I think I saw this video before but where?
How it's made?
They can't be called Potato Chips, just look on a Pringles can and it says Potato Crisps

First half of the video: How potato chips cans are made...
I'm eating chips while watching this video
Pringles are not potato chips. They even say on the package, “Potato crisps”.
They the same thing crisp is chip in. Uk dumbb
ok but you literally just re-uploaded and entire how it’s made segment and put your watermark on it smh 🤦♀️
Read the description idiot
Omg how it’s made is part of insider
So basically pringles
So that's why Pringle turn to rubber when wet
They're powdered potato shaped in a mold. None of the ones in the video are potato chips.
Looks like a complete pringles clone.
Pringles left the chat.
“Then do a backflip”
3.41-43 the chips is NOT formed this way, the chops is actually at the bottom of the mould, NOT on top.
Now i know
ok, now i will only buy chips thats in the bag.

How to get hungry 101
my dad once told me that chips were cut by hand
Woo
The white powder is actually c.o.k.e not potato starch that's why we get so addicted to them.
