The plastic bag method is brilliant. I don’t think I would’ve done that if I didn’t watch this video. Thank you for the suggestion and for your expertise. I am in Colorado in a very dry environment and that bag method is a lot easier than having to go water every morning.
Just found your channel, lovely to see an Irish gardener. Be nice to see a garden tour sometime. The bit behind you is lovely and I can hear water running?
@@rochabarten3949 No. I gave up after two attempts. Two weeks ago I spotted some seeds for sale on ebay and am now patiently waiting and hoping they will germinate. I have a beautiful red broom in the garden and want more!! This is not going to beat me!!
Have not come across any record of this shrub being invasive, not to be confused with another yellow flowering plant "Gorse" which is often seen in forest settings.
Apparently it depends where you are planting and how many seeds the variety produces. I have never had a problem with it being invasive in the state of Virginia......in fact I find it a bit finicky. Would not mind if mine was invasive. I enjoy the hybrids with red/rose.
Not to mention extremely fire prone and it dry’s out in the summer time becoming even easier to burn, the forest service where I live litterly rents tools for removing it for free cause they want it gone that bad, it is not a good plant to keep for the “pretty flowers” I promise you
@@RandHunt i’m in Colorado and I have never had it reproduce on its own. I’m watching this video in order to take cuttings because the Nursery center wants $120 a plant for them. I think maybe they used to have ones that would seed themselves and they probably bred it out over the years after they realize what was happening but it’s a beautiful early blooming plant and it works well in the garden here in zone five

We have two yellow plants in the garden, but I have seen the red now online and I would love to get a crimson variety. They are so beautiful.
Thanks for the video, Larry. For a second I thought you said that should root in about 46 weeks.. 😮 Had to rewind that to hear you say 4 to 6 weeks ☺
Is this possible with a big Branch as well
My apologies, but are you using rooting hormone in a liquid form as I didn’t see it dipped in powder?
hi thank you for the video, when is the time i can multiplicate my plant thank you
Thank you do much for this!!!❤❤❤
I have been trying to propagate from the seeds with no luck so pleased to see this video. Do the cuttings not need any further water in the 4-6 weeks
hi! did you managed to propagate succesfully from cuttings? your response will be greatly appreciated

Muchas gracias!!! 💚
Isn’t the scotch broom an invasive species that prevents healthy forests to grow?

@@larrygollogly2493 it is classified as a noxious weed by the government. Devistatingly invasive here.

Here i am looking up videos trying to eradicate this invasive undying weed from my country 🤦♂️
Trump is impervious to all usual weed eradication methods.
