FYI, there's a way to print alignment marks which you would press onto the wood along with your image as the first step. You would then press your image, register your alignment points in light burn, and then laser cut the perimeter last. Also eliminates the need for tape.

Hi, Did you use Minwax Polycrylic to prepare the wood, or were you able to buy it already coated?
Susan no prep of any kind on it. I've done a bunch of these and another item I sell a lot of and they turn out fine with no polycoat etc
