I'm 56yrs old. I have been sharpening knives most of my life and I still learn something almost every time I use a stone. I love watching your videos and I have learned from you as well. Thank you for sharing.

First off: That is one beautiful knife! The way the grinds meet up with the groove and hilltop on the spine...
Second: The immense joy you shine while giving it the edge and what an edge!😊

Great to hear the clear audio. I find the sound to be one of, if not THE most important, feedback when I'm sharpening. Great looking knife like all of your work, wish I could justify one (of each pattern lol)

Just the sort of shape I love. Great design. Kind of loving 3V at the moment but I really like the look of that blade shape, handle. All very nice. Great job.

FINALLY! A nice high grind, not quite a full flat, but getting there. Maybe you have other knives offered with high flat grinds, but I don't recall seeing them. To me it seems most of your knives are geared toward wood work with those short scandi type grinds, nice to see a good looking hunter. A couple things I would like to point out, just tips, not criticism. I'm not sure how thick that is, but it looks like 1/8" or slightly thicker, suggest thinner stock if using flat grinds on hunter patterns. 3/32" is just a great sweet spot for a hunter with a flat or convex grind (or hollow grind....if that's your thing). No need for a fuller when using thinner stock. No need for thicker stock when it is a hunting pattern. Suggest a bit more of an aggressive tip and slightly less belly, but that's ok. It looks pretty good!
Here is the big one....I think you use O1 exclusively. If you are dead set on carbon steel, 52100 has better edge retention as well as being tougher than O1, and has a better balance of toughness at a given hardness. I never use O1 any longer as 52100 is just a much better carbon steel, and is easy to source in all range of thicknesses, and depending on where you get it, it is ready to heat treat as received, just like most O1 is. A2 would be a step up in edge retention over 52100.

Beautiful blade! That CT receipt is a good test for a sharp edge! I do appreciate you putting these videos out. I have been practising my freehand stone sharpening and try to apply your no hurry no worry approach. I find without counting it becomes almost therapeutic in nature. Will natural stones sharpen the CPM steels?
    Thanks for sharing.

Just discovered you and subscribed. Dig your stuff. One thing I am unsure I am understanding, when you are saying you are sharpening to a burr but you seem to be dressing both sides of the knife.
Are you checking the one side for a burr and then flipping to the other side to remove it?
    Thank you 🙏

Kyle, as soon as my back gets better and I can get back to work, I'm ordering a knife and probably a strop from you. Assuming you ship to the U.S. I looked at your store a little bit ago, nice looking stuff. Definitely don't need one but really liked a couple designs of yours. It may be a couple months or so but count on it.

Maybe it two! The Kuromaku blue/black, and the shapton glass stone 1000! Pick up a 600 grit nagura for cleaning, and a strop, and you're in business!

That's a beauty! Are you familiar with the youtuber "Fun In The Woods With David Pearson/AKA Really Big Monkey"? Dave's a great youtuber down in the Southern States and he loves Machetes and big knives. I wonder what sort of blade you would create for him? If you designed and made something for him I think it would be a great gift and a great way to advertise your business. He loves to ad a bushcraft knife to his machete sheath. Here's a great opportunity for you Kyle. Take care Bud.

Would you do a show on the proper way to strop a knife. The angle to hold on the strop and the amount of pressuer to use. I have a problem of making my knife more dull when i strop. Please show close ups and slow motion on the process. I hove your showes. Thanks from the old man from Texas.
